Chapter 434 - 294: Knowledge Alchemy! Kunlun’s Overt Plot

Instead, there was a solemn and magnificent sense of advanced technology.

Han Feng stood in the center of the great hall, looking up.

The entire interior space of the Myriad Laws Trading Hall was much larger than it looked from the outside.

This was due to space-folding technology.

Overhead was not a ceiling, but a simulated, deep, starry sky.

Countless light-blue holographic screens floated in mid-air, slowly rotating like stars.

Various trade listings scrolled across each screen.

[WANTED: One portion of Tier Five Demon Beast "Sea-Splitting Profound Dragon Whale" essence blood. Price negotiable.]

[FOR SALE: Incomplete Ancient Sword Array Map. Starting bid: 30,000 Spirit Coins.]

[RECRUITING: Exploration of an unknown Fog Area. Tier Four Grandmaster required to lead the team. Generous reward.]

The floor of the great hall was paved with solid Obsidian, so polished it was like a mirror.

Hundreds of circular counters were scattered about in an orderly fashion. There were no human staff, only intelligent Spiritual Energy Puppets handling reception.

There was no clamor here; everyone was talking in low voices or operating their personal terminals.

’So this is the true power of Kunlun?’

Han Feng looked at the dazzling information, marveling to himself.

By comparison, East Sea City’s Black Market seemed like a village convenience store.

He walked to an unoccupied query terminal and inserted the black VIP card.

BEEP!

The holographic screen lit up instantly, and a line of soft text appeared.

[Respected Level B VIP, welcome to the Myriad Laws Trading System.]

[Your current clearance allows you to view all goods and intelligence at Level B and below.]

Han Feng didn’t hesitate, directly typing "Hall of Myriad Spirits slot" into the search bar.

The screen flickered, filtering through a massive amount of information, finally leaving only a few entries.

Han Feng looked closely, and the corner of his eye couldn’t help but twitch.

[Hall of Myriad Spirits Yan Dao Slot (Remaining this month: 3)]

[Acquisition Method 1: Auction. Current highest bid: 2,860,000 Spirit Coins]

[Acquisition Method 2: First place on the Technique Optimization Challenge Leaderboard.]

[Acquisition Method 3: Barter. Requires providing Rare Civilization Fragments or High Tier unrecorded technology authenticated by the "Little Tower of Babel."]

’Two million, eight hundred and sixty thousand Spirit Coins...’

Han Feng watched the constantly rising number and felt his teeth ache.

His "six hundred Spirit Coins in ten minutes" scheme seemed pitifully inadequate in the face of this number.

Even if he sold everything he had, it would barely cover a fraction of the cost.

As for Contribution Points, he didn’t even need to think about it. That was Kunlun’s internal currency, completely unobtainable for an outsider.

’Looks like the third option is my only choice.’

’Rare Civilization Fragments... unrecorded technology...’

Han Feng narrowed his eyes.

’He did have quite a few "Black Technology" concepts from his system, like integrating missile tech into Flying Swords, or that special Spiritual Energy Array structure.’

’But that stuff is too sensitive.’

’If I were to reveal any of it, I’d definitely be targeted by those research fanatics at Kunlun.’

’Forget getting the slot—I’d probably be captured and dissected for research.’

Just as Han Feng was contemplating his options, a smarmy voice sounded from behind him.

"Struck dumb, huh, Boss?"

Han Feng didn’t need to turn around to know who it was.

Guo Xiaobao sidled up, craned his neck to look at the number on the screen, and clicked his tongue in amazement.

"Two million, eight hundred and sixty thousand Spirit Coins. That price is truly outrageous."

"Last month it was just over one point six million. Looks like there are plenty of big spenders... ahem, wealthy people this time around."

He turned his head, looked at Han Feng, his face showing a smug "I knew you’d need me" expression.

"So? How about it, Boss?"

"Now, don’t you think spending six hundred Spirit Coins for a professional consultant is a very worthwhile deal?"

Han Feng turned around, looking at the guy who was proving as hard to shake off as a piece of sticky taffy.

He suddenly smiled.

"What’s your name?"

Guo Xiaobao was taken aback for a moment, then straightened his back.

"I’m not one to hide my name."

"Second Level citizen of the Kunlun Celestial Ship, gold-medal guide of the Myriad Laws Hall, the one and only Guo Xiaobao!"

"Guo Xiaobao."

Han Feng repeated the name and nodded.

He took out ten Spirit Coins from his pocket, tossed them over casually, and pointed to the third acquisition method on the screen.

"Generous, Boss!"

Guo Xiaobao casually stuffed the Spirit Coins into his pocket, and his mercenary face instantly broke into a professional smile.

But when he looked at the third acquisition method Han Feng was pointing to, his head shook like a rattle drum.

"Boss, as much as I’d like to earn this money, I have to be honest. This path is a dead end for you."

Han Feng raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"Forgive my asking, Boss, but what’s your current cultivation?" Guo Xiaobao asked, sizing up Han Feng.

"First Layer of the Enlightenment Realm," Han Feng didn’t hide it.

A trace of surprise flashed through Guo Xiaobao’s eyes.

’From his strength earlier, I had thought this person was at least in the Enlightenment Late Stage, or some kind of freak who specialized in Body Cultivation.’

But in a place like Kunlun, there were all sorts of oddballs. It wasn’t unheard of for someone at the First Layer of Enlightenment to possess monstrous strength.

"First Layer of Enlightenment..."

Guo Xiaobao clicked his tongue and pointed at the large screen. "Then I’ve got to warn you off this path even more strongly."

He pointed to the phrase "Rare Civilization Fragments."

"Boss, do you know what a ’Civilization Fragment’ even is?"

Han Feng shook his head.

He had indeed never heard of the concept.

"So-called ’Civilization Fragments’ aren’t some tattered book or a torn map you picked up in some ruins."

Guo Xiaobao held up a finger and wagged it. "That’s called an ’Ancient Artifact,’ not ’Civilization.’"

"A true Civilization Fragment has to be a complete, integrated system of heritage."

"From its writing and history to its basic cultivation techniques and core technology tree—not a single piece can be missing."

"You can only get that kind of thing by finding the core carrier of an Otherworld civilization in a super-large Sky Mist Area of Tier Four or higher."

Guo Xiaobao sighed. "That kind of thing, even a piece the size of a fingernail, contains a massive amount of information."

"They’re usually strategic-level secrets for the major Fortress Cities. How could anyone possibly trade them away?"

"If you’ve never even heard of them, then you definitely don’t have any."

Han Feng was lost in thought.

It was true. Although his system could perform Magical Modifications, it only gave him specific skills or blueprints, never anything like a "history book" or "introduction to sociology."

"What about the second part?"

Han Feng pointed at the screen. "Exceptional, unrecorded technology of Tier Four or higher. I’m not lacking in that."
