High Martial: I Use Everything as Swords

Chapter 437 - 295: Triple Jump! Tier Four Flame Demon’s Grip

"So choosing Body Techniques, External Skills, or Weapon Techniques offers the highest success rate. These are what we call ’Hard Skills.’ It’s hard to screw them up."

Han Feng listened as he walked up to the massive light screen for selecting techniques.

His gaze quickly swept over the list scrolling down like a waterfall.

[Tier One Technique Area]

Spirit Hoe Technique (Lifestyle): 50 Spirit Coins.

Gale Step (Body Technique): 120 Spirit Coins.

Monument-Breaking Hand (Fist/Palm): 100 Spirit Coins.

...

Han Feng’s finger slid lightly across the screen as he ignored the highlighted, popular combat techniques.

His gaze finally settled on the very bottom of the list.

There lay the neglected Magic Technique Area, marked with a gray warning symbol.

[Tier One Magic: Fireball Technique]

[Tier One Magic: Water Bomb Technique]

[Tier One Magic: Quicksand Technique]

[Tier One Magic: Entanglement Technique]

...

The prices for these Magic techniques were outrageously low, most hovering around 30 Spirit Coins. They were clearly junk options meant to fill out the list.

"Sir, where are you looking?"

When Guo Xiaobao saw Han Feng staring blankly at the Magic Technique Area, he grew anxious, his voice jumping an octave.

"That’s a forbidden zone! A deathtrap! Don’t even think about touching it!"

"Why?" Han Feng asked, his interest now piqued.

"Because it’s a dead end!"

Guo Xiaobao pointed to his head, his face a mask of lingering fear.

"This stuff, Magic, it involves Spiritual Power, Divine Sense Imprints, and even a sliver of those abstruse Laws of the universe.

The AI can’t simulate such ethereal things!"

"The AI is just a bunch of advanced code. What the hell does it know about Laws and the Dao?"

"It doesn’t have a soul, so it can’t understand! That’s why the optimization results for Magic have a reliability of less than five percent!

Look for yourself. Is there a single person in this whole plaza choosing Magic?"

Han Feng glanced across the plaza. Sure enough, out of the hundred or so people there, not one was lingering in the Magic Technique Area.

"The Martial Artists here are elites from all over, and plenty of them have powerful Spiritual Power.

Three years ago, some guy who called himself a Spiritual Power prodigy refused to believe it. He blew tens of thousands of Spirit Coins trying to optimize a Tier Two Wind Blade Technique.

The resulting technique he came up with nearly sliced him to pieces."

Guo Xiaobao was speaking from the heart, genuinely concerned for Han Feng’s wallet.

However, Han Feng’s gaze only lingered for a moment on the popular Martial Arts and Body Techniques.

In the end, his eyes locked onto an unremarkable Tier One Magic technique, one whose point reward was pathetically low.

[Tier One Lower Grade Technique: Earth Spear Technique, Price: 20 Spirit Coins, Optimization Points: 1-10]

As its name suggested, this Magic technique involved condensing an Earth Spear and hurling it at an enemy.

It was simple, crude, and utterly devoid of skill—an introductory lesson that even Magic apprentices would scorn.

But Han Feng was interested in it for one reason only.

It could condense a "spear" with a physical form.

And as long as it had a physical form, to him, it was a... sword that could be wielded by his Sword Control Technique and Divine Power Module!

He raised his hand. His long, slender finger tapped the line of dim text. He turned to Guo Xiaobao, who was practically sweating with anxiety, and said...

"This is the one. Help me purchase it."

Guo Xiaobao followed his finger. When the three words "Earth Spear Technique" came into view, he froze completely.

He rubbed his eyes hard, making sure he wasn’t seeing things.

"S-Sir... you... you’re not kidding me, are you?"

Guo Xiaobao’s tongue felt tied.

"Did you not hear a single word of that heartfelt advice I just gave you?"

"I heard you."

Han Feng replied, his expression calm.

"That’s why I’m choosing this one."

Several nearby Martial Artists who had been looking at the list heard the commotion and turned to look, their gazes mocking.

"Well, well, look what we have here. Another reckless newbie trying to be clever and take a shortcut?"

"Looks like he’s going for Magic.

Who still believes that outdated nonsense about ’Magic is invincible’ these days?"

"Probably from some backwater town. He’s never seen the real world and thinks he’s some legendary Mage just because he can conjure a fireball."

The men whispered among themselves, their tone laced with the innate, lofty superiority of Kunlun natives.

In their eyes, Magic was a high-level discipline that only Grandmasters at Tier Four or above were qualified to dabble in. For a Low Tier Martial Artist to touch it was simply overreaching.

A young man in a Kunlun Daoist Palace uniform even sneered aloud.

"Magic was excavated whole from ancient ruins. It was refined over millennia by Otherworld civilizations; it’s already a complete system.

Who does he think he is?

Even the Rune Masters from the Little Tower of Babel’s research academy wouldn’t dare claim they could easily optimize something like this."

"Hah. Ignorance is bliss. People from backwater places get a little Talent and suddenly don’t know their own limits.

He’s probably never even seen a few real Magic techniques, yet he dares to show off his meager skills in front of experts."

"Let him try. It costs money to purchase the Technique, and it costs money to use the AI’s processing power.

Just think of it as a contribution to the Celestial Ship’s treasury. It’s fine by me."

The harsh comments were quiet, but everyone present had senses sharp enough to hear. Every single word drilled into their ears.

Guo Xiaobao’s face was turning green. He felt that his reputation as a "Gold Medal Consultant" was about to be shattered by this stubborn client who refused to listen to reason.

"Sir, think twice! Please, think twice!"

Guo Xiaobao was so anxious he was practically tearing his hair out, stopping just short of hugging Han Feng’s leg.

"This Magic stuff... there’s really no room for optimization!"

But Han Feng merely shot him a cool glance.

"Who says there isn’t?"

He turned, looked at Guo Xiaobao’s despairing face, and smiled confidently.

"This... is the field I specialize in."

With that, he ignored the stunned Guo Xiaobao and walked straight to the Spiritual Thought Linker labeled "Technique Exchange."
