Chapter 471 - 306: Spirit Armor Stealth! Broken Star’s Spirit-Devouring Evolution

’These two Skills might be unorthodox—something I figured out from flying a plane—and their Grade isn’t top-tier, but at least my Skill Proficiency with them is high!’

’Reaching the Small Success stage is just a step away.’

’As long as I grind these two up and practice my Weapon Divine Powers a little, won’t I cross the threshold to become a Sword Master?’

’Once I get the class bonus, won’t practicing those profound techniques be twice as effective for half the effort?’

"That’s what I’ll do!"

Now that he had a plan, Han Feng spun with even more vigor.

He increased the output of his Sword Essence, turning his entire body into a human torpedo beneath the sea.

To pursue the ultimate rotation speed, he even secretly activated the attitude adjustment thrusters on the back of his Spirit Armor, using the reaction force to accelerate.

And just like that, not only did his rotation speed increase, but his forward speed also shot up.

...

Amidst a series of satisfying pings, Han Feng became like a tireless drill, forcefully boring a path through the dense defensive line of the Sea Beast horde.

「A few minutes later.」

The entrance to the massive cavern, emitting an eerie blue glow, finally appeared in his sight.

Han Feng abruptly stopped spinning, using the water’s resistance to stabilize his body as he hid in the shadow of a giant reef.

"Made it."

He looked up, but his expression instantly froze.

’I thought there would just be a few big ones guarding the entrance. At worst, I’d just have to force my way through.’

But the scene before him, for someone with trypophobia, was almost enough to make him keel over and die.

The hundred-meter-wide entrance to the cave was densely curtained with countless grayish-white threads.

They looked like willow branches, or perhaps the tentacles of some creature, drifting slowly in the undercurrent.

Their sheer number was simply staggering.

Forget a person, even a krill trying to swim through would probably get entangled hundreds of times over.

The gaps between the threads were so narrow you couldn’t even fit a finger through, sealing the entire entrance so tightly that not even a fly could hope to get in.

"Now this is just cheating."

Han Feng clicked his tongue.

’This isn’t a defense; it’s a net meant to wipe everything out.’

He tentatively raised his hand, condensing a Spiral Water Needle the size of a steel pin at his fingertip.

"Go!"

The water needle shot out silently, with its extremely strong Penetration Power, as it headed straight for the dense cluster of tentacles at the cave mouth.

’He wanted to see if he could use the current to force an opening.’

’Even a one-second opening would be enough for him to get through, relying on the speed of his Shadow Battle Armor.’

However, what happened next left Han Feng stunned.

The high-speed, rotating water needle plunged precisely into the cluster of tentacles.

The expected scene of the tentacles being scattered and torn apart did not happen.

The current passed through the grayish-white threads as if they were air, completely unobstructed, only to strike a small pit into the rock wall behind them.

The tentacles, however, didn’t even sway. They continued to drift quietly, as if nothing had happened at all.

"..."

Han Feng slapped his forehead, thinking he must have spun himself dizzy.

’Those are Spiritual Bodies! They have no physical form. What the hell am I doing hitting them with a physical attack?!’

He had kept his Spiritual Vision active the entire time, so the grayish-white tentacles were rendered in perfect detail in his sight, down to the flowing Energy Particles within them.

This overly realistic visual feedback made him subconsciously treat them as solid objects.

If he were to turn off his Spiritual Vision, there would be nothing in front of him but pitch-black seawater.

These tentacles were, in essence, just high-density remnants of Spiritual Energy.

For them, a physical attack was like trying to slice a shadow with a knife—they weren’t even on the same plane of existence.

"This is going to be tricky."

Han Feng rubbed his chin.

’Since a physical solution won’t work, a Spiritual Attack is my only option.’

But his current situation was awkward.

He was out in the open, while the enemy was hidden.

Although his Escapee Type Two could block Perception, allowing him to hide here like a rock, the moment he used his Divine Sense to attack those tentacles, the resulting burst of spiritual fluctuation would be as conspicuous as a searchlight in the dead of night.

That old monster hiding deep underground would immediately notice someone was stirring up trouble.

And then, the tens of thousands of Sea Beasts could drown him in their spit alone.

"I have to think of something."

Han Feng’s eyes flickered as his gaze swept across the area.

Soon, about two hundred meters from the cave entrance, he spotted a natural hollow in the rock.

The spot was in an excellent position: a protruding rock above provided cover, and several huge coral stalks in front offered concealment. It was a perfect spot for an ambush.

Without hesitation, Han Feng floated over like a ghost and wedged himself into the hollow.

He activated the mimicry function of his Spirit Armor, and its surface instantly became identical to the surrounding rock.

Once he was sure he was well hidden, Han Feng flicked his wrist.

The Short Sword, Broken Star—jet-black with dark gold patterns flowing along its spine—appeared silently in his palm.

Ever since it was successfully forged, he had been personally nurturing the blade close to his body using the Sword Storage Technique.

Although it had not yet reached the point of birthing a complete Artifact Spirit, it already possessed a high degree of spirituality and was connected to his will.

More importantly, the sword had an utterly unreasonable Trait: Soul Absorption.

It could repair itself by devouring an enemy’s Energy, and even channel that Energy back to its master.

"Since it’s Spiritual Energy, it should count as a type of ’Spirit,’ right?"

Han Feng looked at the Short Sword in his hand and grinned wickedly.
