Chapter 568 - 333: Soul Devouring Gray Mist: An Unknown Change

He quickly scrolled down and found that a large swath of names had turned gray. Behind each of these gray names, the same faction was listed—the Divine Shield Federation.

The entire exploration team of the Divine Shield Federation had been almost completely wiped out!

A chill shot up from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. This wasn’t attrition from combat; this was an entire unit being systematically erased!

’A huge chunk of my crop had just been ripped out, roots and all!’

"What’s wrong?"

Ye Jinghong keenly sensed the drastic change in Han Feng’s aura. The relaxed and content air from having just returned from slaying a Divine vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold sharpness, like the edge of a blade.

Han Feng didn’t answer immediately. He forced himself to calm down, his mind racing.

The Divine Shield Federation’s team was wiped out. The Black Rock Tribe was migrating their entire clan to seek refuge.

’These two things happening at the same time could not possibly be a coincidence!’

"Major General Ye,"

Han Feng looked up, his expression exceptionally grave. "How much do you know about the Divine Shield Federation’s exploration team?

Especially their leader, the one called Thor."

Ye Jinghong didn’t know why he was suddenly asking about this, but seeing his troubled expression, he answered at once:

"The people from the Divine Shield Federation have always been aggressive, and that Thor is a battle maniac.

They’ve been acting with a high profile since entering Dragon Abyss, aggressively attacking everything in their path. It’s said they’ve already taken down two native tribes and established a sizable stronghold to the southwest."

"I have a bad feeling about this."

Han Feng said in a low voice, "They might be in trouble. I need to know the exact location of their stronghold and their recent movements."

"In trouble?"

Ye Jinghong’s heart tightened. He had never seen Han Feng lose his composure like this.

He didn’t ask any more questions and directly issued an order through the corps’ internal channel.

"Gu Jian, get me all the intel on the Divine Shield Federation’s Thor. Immediately!"

In less than a minute, Gu Jian, dressed in Red Armor, strode quickly into the main tent.

"Major General, Advisor Han, the intel is all here."

Ye Jinghong took the tablet and directly projected a holographic map.

A flashing red dot appeared southwest of their base, at a straight-line distance of over two hundred kilometers.

Gu Jian explained from the side, "The Divine Shield Federation’s stronghold is in Thunder Valley.

Three days ago, they conquered the Thunderbird Tribe there. Their leader, Thor, personally took action, using lightning to electrocute the Tier Four Early Stage Thunderbird Divine to death. He then devoured its Divine Format, greatly increasing his power."

"Their most recent movement was three hours ago. The entire force was mobilized to attack and occupy the territory of a tribe called the Stone-armored Wild Boar."

"After that, their signal was lost. We assumed they had entered an area with signal jamming and didn’t pay it much mind."

Three hours ago... Han Feng’s heart sank. That matched up perfectly with the time of death for his Sword Seed hosts.

"That last tribe they attacked, what was their strength?" Han Feng pressed.

"A small tribe called the Stone-armored Wild Boar. Their Totem Divine was only at Tier Three Peak."

Gu Jian’s brow furrowed as well. "What’s strange is, some of their peripheral staff who escaped said that after they occupied the tribe, they didn’t celebrate wildly as usual. Instead, the entire camp became terrifyingly quiet.

After that, the signal was lost completely."

"Terrifyingly quiet?" Han Feng latched onto the phrase.

"Yes."

Gu Jian added, "The intelligence analysts also felt something was off.

According to his psychological profile, Thor’s personality is definitely not the type to keep a low profile after a victory.

Our initial assessment was that they might have discovered some important ruins. Now, it seems... something unexpected must have happened."

"Can you mark the location of their base and the Stone-armored Wild Boar tribe’s territory on the map?"

"Of course."

Gu Jian quickly operated the holographic sand table, and two red dots were marked.

Han Feng looked at the map and fell into deep thought.

’What kind of enemy could annihilate a well-equipped, hundred-man elite team—one led by a newly ascended Divine—in a single encounter, without them even being able to send a distress signal?’

The abnormal image of the Black Rock Tribe’s migration flashed through his mind.

"General," Gu Jian asked tentatively, seeing that both men were silent, "should we dispatch the Ghost Squad for aerial reconnaissance?"

"No!"

Han Feng and Ye Jinghong refused almost in unison.

Ye Jinghong looked at Han Feng, gesturing for him to speak first.

"The situation is unclear. The enemy likely possesses powerful anti-air and counter-reconnaissance capabilities. Sending the Ghost Shadow Squad over there would be a suicide mission."

Han Feng’s tone was as serious as it could be. "Besides, this matter is far more complicated than we imagine."

Ye Jinghong nodded. A crisis that even Han Feng treated with such gravity was definitely not something that could be solved by sending in a few fighter jets.

"I’ll go myself."

Han Feng stood up, his gaze sweeping toward the landing pad, where a sleek Ghost Fighter was waiting quietly.

Seeing that Han Feng had made up his mind, Ye Jinghong’s brows knitted tightly, a hesitant look on his face.

"Han Feng, this matter is no small thing.

A hundred-man elite team with a newly ascended Divine disappeared without a sound. The enemy behind this likely has methods beyond our comprehension.

The risk is too great."

"The greater the risk, the more reason there is to go," Han Feng retorted. "Major General Ye, think about the Black Rock Tribe’s reaction.

After fighting a battle with me, not only did they not retaliate, they migrated their entire tribe as if fleeing a plague. What are they afraid of?

Obviously, it’s not us."

"Now, Thor’s team has also vanished under strange circumstances.

These two incidents very likely point to the same source—a new ’danger’ has appeared in Dragon Abyss, one that even the native Divines fear."

Han Feng’s voice turned cold and grim. "We can’t just stick our heads in the sand.
