Chapter 3073: Chapter 86: Gathering Once Again

Alpha Fortress.

At the entrance of the Black family lounge.

After seeing the guest off, Patrick had a somewhat grave expression. Some passing white-robed figures looked on with slight surprise at the departing yellow-robed guest, whispering among themselves about what deal the Black family and Atlas Academy might have made now.

Patrick paid no heed to the prying eyes and murmuring sounds.

He turned back into the lounge, hurriedly writing a letter to both his cousin and the current clan leader of the Black family at the desk.

"——Dear Matthew,"

He wrote, "The Tuki Sect follower I mentioned to you last time visited the fortress today, seeking the Initial Embrace from the Black family. As far as I know, he has confirmed he will be stripped of his yellow robe, but whether he will don the green robe is yet uncertain. Perhaps this is why he is in such disarray. I’m not sure if it’s wise to offer the Initial Embrace to a devout believer, even if he’s a Heretic Follower, so I dare not promise easily. I hope you can share your experience—can the curse of blood overcome blind faith in darkness? Or does he have other plans? Eagerly awaiting your reply. Your loyal cousin, Patrick Black."

While the ink dried, he picked up the Feather Pen again, dipped it in ink.

Tore open a new sheet of paper.

"——Esteemed Mr. George. I kneel at your feet, kissing your boots, and report to you. A follower of the Tuki Sect at the First University Atlas Academy is to be suspended for violating academy rules. He visited me, seeking the eternal and glorious curse of the Black family. His mind and ability could indeed be of use to the family, but I know very little about the Tuki Sect, thus I’m worried about his conversion. Afraid of tainting the sacred bloodline. Your wisdom has guided the family through numerous worlds of darkness; I pray for your advice. Once again kissing your boots. Your obedient servant, Patrick Black."

Watching the two white Paper Cranes first transform into two pale flames and disappear in the dormitory, Patrick then exhaled softly, somewhat troubled as he tugged at his hair.

He was still a freshman, how could he bear such an important responsibility!

While waiting for a reply.

He casually pulled out a book "Anatomy" from the shelf, flipped through a couple of pages but only felt agitated, unable to read a word. Tossed it aside carelessly, and picked up another book "The Nightingale and the Rose," a long poetic fairy tale by Oscar Wilde. Opening it, a sentence on the back cover made him pause.

"——When the fragile nightingale presses its heart against the thorns, young nobles suddenly understand why the eternal beings are better at crafting tragedies rather than love."

A tragedy?

He muttered the word that had caught his eye, staring at the illustration on the cover page where rose thorns pierced a heart, and a few vividly depicted drops of blood, silent for a long while.

Phew!

A pale flame suddenly bloomed in front of him, startling him. As the light faded, a white Paper Crane flapped its wings, circled, and landed on the young Vampire’s shoulder, pecking at his ear.

Patrick quickly opened the letter.

It was from Matthew Karen.

Not sure if Matthew was hunting at the time, the letter had a stain of vivid green blood, and contained only two short sentences in a very hasty scrawl.

"——Eternals never make deals with Devils, Tuki Sect followers are worse than Devils. If unsure of his intentions, try posting in the Seven Sins."

Indeed!

Seven Sins!

How could he have forgotten this organization? The current Seven Sins was nothing like during Matthew’s time, it truly housed beings of Great Wizard Level!

Patrick sprang up from the desk, nearly knocking over the chair.

As he rummaged the dressing table for Lucifer’s identity ring—which had now become an essential accessory worn daily with his cufflinks—another pale flame bloomed over the desk.

George Clan Leader’s reply was equally succinct.

"——If he agrees, use this blood to give him the Initial Embrace. George."

Accompanying the letter was a blob of deep red blood, about the size of a pea, encased in a glass test tube, hovering in mid-air, morphing into various bat shapes.

Even through the dense Runes on the glass, Patrick could feel the Powerful Magic contained within this blood.

This was the blood of a top-level Great Witch!

Patrick immediately made the judgment, although he wasn’t certain which Elder of the family the blood belonged to. But undoubtedly, the clan leader had agreed to grant that fortunate soul named Guan Shanyun the bloodline of the Black family.

Yet, looking at the test tube, Patrick’s gaze was somewhat complex.

A half-blood made from such high-ranked Vampire blood could fully awaken the potential of the one receiving the Initial Embrace, but it would undermine the recipient’s foundation. Moreover, this kind of half-blood would be heavily controlled.

Thinking of a young Wizard once called his classmate would now become a subordinate, he felt a peculiar melancholy.

Shaking his head.

He put away the test tube.

Patrick put on the Seven Sins’ ring, turned, and left the lounge.

He didn’t mind consulting another Great Witch’s opinion on this matter, though it required some clever maneuvers.

...

...

When Patrick left the lounge.

Greenhill Mansion.

Su Ya, who was crouching to clean the floor, suddenly felt a slight warmth from her belt. She paused, puzzled, touched it, and found a ring glowing faintly.

"Ah!"

The Little Fox Maid jumped up from the floor barefoot, darting up the stairs like the wind—although they speculated during discussions a few days earlier that Su Shi’s confinement order only prohibited them from leaving the mansion, not from attending Seven Sins gatherings, no young Wizard dared to cross this new red line after feeling the force of family discipline.

Poseidon dared not, either.

Thus they could only hope and wait for someone else in the Seven Sins to initiate a summon, using that ring as an excuse.

"——It’s my turn this time!"

Poseidon, already frustrated by the confinement in the mansion, snatched the ring from Su Ya decisively, saying with confidence, "Originally, it was my turn last time..... If I go, I wouldn’t be caught like you! Anyone want to join?"

She looked at the three Great Elves.

Upon hearing Poseidon’s words, Su Ya’s spirit instantly dampened, gazing at the ring with a sigh. And the Zheng Su sisters, without permission from Su Shi, didn’t dare to break the rules wilfully, shaking their heads like rattles, none willing to take the ring.

"——So, today, it’s just me going!" Poseidon gleefully twitched her ears.

"——What if the lady suddenly returns?" At this point, Su Ya suddenly had a worry.

"At most, more days of confinement..... what else can be done?"

Poseidon muttered, hesitated for a moment, the ring again urged slightly in her hand, making her immediately forget any apprehensions. Her large tail flicked, she took off running towards the stairs: "Wait at home, I’ll be right back!"
