Chapter 2389: Chapter 683: Returned (1)_3

"Morning!"

Qin Mu was still unaware that last night, Mr. Mu had broken their agreement in Paris and slept in the same bed with her, so because she had troubled him to bring her back and even carry her to bed, her mood was particularly good.

"Finish washing up and come for breakfast!"

Mu Yichen’s voice was still so calm, yet full of patience.

Qin Mu instinctively followed him to the dining room; just the two of them eating together, this feeling...

A bit desolate!

But also, a bit strange!

"Going to the store or the studio today?"

Mu Yichen started chatting with her casually.

Qin Mu thought for a moment: "Hmm, maybe the studio, or maybe nowhere at all!"

Qin Mu, thinking about today’s gloomy weather, didn’t want to go out, preferring to rest at home and then pick up the kids from school in the afternoon.

Mu Yichen raised his eyes, looked at her unexpectedly, then lowered his head to eat again.

Qin Mu felt Mr. Mu was particularly quiet this morning.

Last night, she had a few more drinks and wasn’t quite sober, unsure if she mumbled something incoherent in her half-dazed state.

Really afraid she might have cursed him!

But trying to read that from Mr. Mu’s face was a bit difficult.

"What about you? Working today?"

Qin Mu asked him, remembering he didn’t really work yesterday either, spending time with the old man for dinner and such.

"I’m going to the pharmaceutical factory today!"

Mu Yichen replied.

Pharmaceutical factory?

Qin Mu was a bit curious but didn’t ask further, thinking about Mu Zihao giving her some shares, which made her uneasy, fearing she’d be called over too, like the dread of being named by a teacher in school.

Since she didn’t want to go out, Mu Yichen didn’t insist, going to the pharmaceutical factory himself, where there wasn’t much to do; Mu Zihao was supervising, and took the chance to meet his long-unseen son for a chat.

Qin Mu found some snacks of the siblings, curled up on the sofa, searched for an old movie link on her phone to stream to the TV, eating while watching.

Titanic.

Watching the young faces and tight bodies in the movie, Qin Mu thought about the current appearances of the two main actors, wondering if she’d end up like that too, maybe worse, hence needing good maintenance. But this thought didn’t last long as the plot quickly unfolded, drawing her in so she could hardly think about anything else, her breath tightening and loosening with the story’s progress.

At eleven o’clock, the sound of the door echoed, Qin Mu didn’t have time to turn around as the male and female leads were engrossed in a moment in the car, with a piece of cracker in hand, not yet to her lips, holding her breath.

Mu Yichen, hearing the amorous sounds from the TV, looked up...

The woman in the sofa was watching so intently...

By the time Qin Mu realized he was back, the scene had already passed, she looked up, startled.

Mu Yichen frowned and stared at her, as if appraising an antique.

Qin Mu felt a shiver down her spine: "W-When did you get back?"

Mu Yichen, dragging his coat, walked over and draped it lightly over the sofa, then sat down beside her, slightly turned, looking at her with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, his gaze inscrutable but silent.

Qin Mu immediately thought about the scene she just watched, pairing it with his current expression, could he have misunderstood?

"Don’t get the wrong idea! It was just a scene from the movie, why are you back so early?"

Qin Mu had assumed he’d stay at the factory for lunch.

But she didn’t know, since she planned not to go out, he had refused the cafeteria invitation there to return early, in hopes of spending time with her alone since the siblings would return in the evening, and they’d lose their private time.

Yet seeing this, she was still pleasantly surprised.

Actually, Qin Mu hadn’t been watching for long; she had wandered around the house aimlessly for quite a while before deciding to watch a movie.

Sigh!

Qin Mu regretted a bit, deciding to watch comedy movies in the future when home alone, definitely avoiding these impulses to prevent him from catching her off guard again.

She guiltily continued watching the TV, remembering having watched this movie many years ago, some scenes vividly remembered, but what was not so deep once, seemed deeply poignant today.

Mu Yichen didn’t bother her much, later leaning back with her on the sofa, legs stretched on the coffee table, holding Huanhuan’s tablet to read the news.

Qin Mu would occasionally glance over, seeing him so focused on the news, wondering why he was sitting there, surely not just to keep her company?

Qin Mu looked down, realizing she had eaten over half the pack of crackers, thinking about the calories, she quickly pinched a piece: "Want some?"
