Chapter 2395: Chapter 684: Return (2)

Qin Mu spoke to her softly, standing beside her without sitting down, but his presence was palpable.

Feng Fanghua lifted her eyes slightly and said indifferently, "Sit down!"

Qin Mu sat down slowly, and the three men in the dining room sighed with relief; once she sat down, there was hope.

"If they dare to deceive me, they better not try to stay in Rongcheng! But haven’t you taken any jobs recently?"

"I have two appointments lined up, but they’re scheduled for autumn, so there’s no rush for me right now."

Otherwise, after returning from Paris, she had tasked her colleagues with all the work, and over the past year, the studio had received many orders, but personally, she had very few.

"Hmph, you seem to have it easy!"

The aunt brought the freshly brewed tea over, and Feng Fanghua picked up a cup, lightly sipping after speaking.

Qin Mu was somewhat surprised that Feng Fanghua could still talk to her like this; when Feng Fanghua had a back injury last time, she had spoken a few words but merely advised her not to hold anything against Feng Fanghua.

"By the way, is your back better now?"

"How long has it been? It’s better!"

Feng Fanghua’s eyes flickered, seemingly remembering something, and she said faintly.

"How can it be better? When it’s rainy or cloudy, doesn’t it still bother you?"

The aunt, standing by, spoke up, mentioning that this morning, after breakfast, she almost couldn’t straighten up.

"I’ve brought back some ointment from Paris. I’ll bring it over for you to try next time; they say a few treatments work wonders."

Qin Mu recalled how she packed the ointment in her suitcase upon returning and found herself feeling superfluous, both annoyed with herself and amused. But indeed, she had bought it.

Feng Fanghua’s eyes moved slightly but did not lift, keeping her head down while fiddling with the teacup.

"That sounds good, young mistress; just let me know how to use it, and I’ll help Madam apply it."

The aunt quickly chimed in.

Qin Mu glanced up, giving the aunt a helpless smile, while the aunt was quite pleased; as long as Qin Mu remembered Feng Fanghua was her mother-in-law and hadn’t truly become estranged from her, this family wouldn’t fall apart.

"Why are you standing here? Don’t you have other things to do?"

Feng Fanghua suddenly murmured angrily, prompting the aunt to leave quickly with her head down.

Qin Mu said nothing more, slightly leaning forward to pick up the tea beside her to drink.

Thus, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were drinking tea together, a scenario not seen for a long time.

"I heard you’ve become friends with Chen Xiaoyi?"

Feng Fanghua asked once the others had left.

"Sort of, Ms. Chen is quite nice!"

Qin Mu thought it over and agreed.

"Hmph! Of course, she’s nice!"

Feng Fanghua retorted, displeased.

Qin Mu...

"If she weren’t a good girl, I wouldn’t have been so enthusiastic..., but you ruined it!"

Feng Fanghua thought, nearly having a perfect daughter-in-law, which was truly unfortunate, and this regret definitely had a lot to do with Qin Mu—Qin Mu had not divorced Mu Yichen, leading Chen Xiaoyi to choose to withdraw.

"Last time you said you would definitely divorce; what about today? Do you still stand by that?"

Feng Fanghua pondered over it, having almost finished a cup of tea, and after putting the teacup down, she looked at Qin Mu with keen eyes, observing every subtle expression.

"No! We might not divorce anymore!"

This time, Qin Mu said it sincerely and seriously.

Feng Fanghua’s eyes stared at her coldly, "Continue!"

"Previously, I was indeed selfish, only considering myself and not taking others’ feelings into account."

She thought it was just her and Mu Yichen’s issue, only to find out that, like many families, they were no exception.

"Hmph! You can actually say that!"

Feng Fanghua was a bit surprised, lowering her head and mumbling softly.

Qin Mu sat on the sofa beside her, and upon seeing her teacup empty, put down hers and picked up the teapot to refill it for her.

Meanwhile, the three men in the dining room looked at each other, staying silent, though someone’s fingers tightened on the wine glass.

The old man pondered briefly, "How about another cup?"

Mu Zihao...

Mu Yichen...

"Great-grandfather, you can’t drink anymore, or Grandma will scold you again!"

Huanhuan reminded with a smile.

The old man smiled, thinking she was right, better not, to avoid Feng Fanghua’s nagging.

After ten o’clock at night, Mu Yichen took Qin Mu and their two children back to their apartment.

Throughout the journey, the two adults remained silent, and the two children, weary from play, leaned against each other in the back, ready to fall asleep.
