Chapter 954: Extra- 8
Finally, everyone’s attention shifted toward Jay and Jace’s little boy, who was resting comfortably in his crib. After all the excitement over Alexander and Arabella’s names, it was his turn to become the center of attention.
The moment the baby realized that so many people were looking at him, his bright blue eyes widened with excitement. He began kicking his little legs enthusiastically, wiggling beneath his blanket as though he had been waiting all along for an audience. A string of tiny bubbles escaped his mouth before he broke into an adorable grin, looking utterly delighted with the attention he was receiving.
Lina couldn’t hide her smile at the sight. "Oh, look at him! He loves attention so much. He’s going to be just like Jay!" she exclaimed, leaning closer to the crib. Watching the baby kick his legs even faster, she giggled and added, "Actually, I have a feeling he’ll be even more mischievous than Jay. Just look at those little feet!"
Everyone burst out laughing as the little boy continued his enthusiastic performance. His legs were moving so quickly that his blanket kept slipping out of place and Jace had to reach over to adjust it while trying not to laugh at his son’s adorable antics.
Jay, meanwhile, looked absolutely delighted. He placed a hand against his chest, gazing at his son as though the baby had just accomplished the greatest achievement of his life.
"Hahahaha! Look at him!" Jay exclaimed, pointing excitedly toward the crib. "He just wants to be a little rocket!"
"Jay, he’s a baby, not a rocket," Jace reminded him, although he couldn’t hide the smile on his face.
"That’s exactly what I said! A baby rocket!" Jay insisted proudly. "Look at those legs! At this rate, he’ll be running around the house before we know it!"
"Hopefully not before he learns how to sit properly," Jace replied, shaking his head fondly.
Dominique laughed, leaning over to get a better look at the energetic little boy. "I feel sorry for you two already. Imagine chasing him around the house every day."
"Why would we chase him?" Jay asked confidently. "I’ll simply teach him to run in the direction I want!"
Jace turned to look at his husband, raising an eyebrow. "You can barely get yourself to follow instructions."
That earned another round of laughter from the family, while Jay looked deeply offended by the accusation.
"Excuse me! I’m an excellent father!"
"Of course, darling," Jace replied, patting his shoulder affectionately. "And I’m sure our son will inherit all your best qualities."
Jay immediately brightened. "See? He understands me!"
"He wasn’t complimenting you," Bella pointed out, laughing.
But Jay was already too busy grinning at his little boy to care. As if determined to prove that he had indeed inherited his father’s enthusiasm, the baby kicked his legs again and blew another tiny bubble, his bright blue eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Oh, this child is going to be trouble," Lina remarked fondly, shaking her head as she watched him.
Jace continued watching his little boy with an affectionate smile. The baby was still kicking his legs excitedly, his tiny mouth forming another adorable bubble as he looked up at all the people gathered around his crib. After observing him for a moment, Jace’s expression softened even further and he finally announced the name he had chosen.
"Sunny!" he declared lovingly. "His name is going to be Sunny. Just look at his little face! He’s as bright as the sun and I want him to spread happiness wherever he goes."
Jay immediately turned toward his husband, his playful expression growing gentler as he looked at their son again. "Sunny Moretti," he repeated, trying the name out loud. His lips gradually curved into a wide smile. "Oh, I like that! I really, really like that!"
"Of course you do," Jace replied with a small laugh. "You’d probably name him Rocket if I let you choose."
"Hey! Rocket is a perfectly respectable name!"
"That’s a name for a spaceship, not a baby!" Jace retorted.
Everyone burst into laughter, and even Jay couldn’t keep a straight face. He leaned closer to the crib, watching Sunny wiggle his little legs as though the baby himself approved of the discussion.
"Sunny," Bella repeated warmly, her eyes full of affection. "That’s such a lovely name. It suits him perfectly."
Lina nodded in agreement. "It really does. There’s something so cheerful about it, and look at that smile! I can already imagine him running around this house and making everyone laugh."
"He’ll probably be the one causing all the trouble," Dominique remarked, glancing pointedly at Jay. "Especially with that father of his."
Jay gasped in mock offense. "Why is everyone blaming me for things my son hasn’t even done yet?"
"Because we’re preparing ourselves," Hazel answered dryly, making everyone laugh again.
Jace simply smiled as he looked down at Sunny. The little boy was still kicking his feet, his bright blue eyes moving from one familiar face to another as he took in all the attention. When Jay gently reached into the crib and offered him a finger, Sunny immediately curled his tiny fingers around it and grinned.
Jay’s expression softened instantly. "Oh, sweetheart. Papa’s here."
Leo and Bella exchanged a warm smile as they watched Jay and Jace fuss over their little boy. Sunny’s arrival had brought another kind of happiness into the family and Bella couldn’t help feeling delighted that all three babies would grow up surrounded by so much love, laughter and affection.
However, her smile gradually faded when an unwelcome thought crossed her mind.
Sunny’s surrogate mother.
Bella’s gaze drifted toward the little boy, who was happily kicking his feet while Jay entertained him with ridiculous faces. She sincerely hoped everything had gone well and that there wouldn’t be any complications or unpleasant surprises in the future. She wanted Jay and Jace to enjoy their happiness without anything threatening the beautiful family.
Leo noticed the subtle change in her expression. He gently squeezed her hand and gave her a questioning look, silently asking what was troubling her.
Bella glanced at him and offered a small smile, reassuring him that everything was fine. She didn’t want to worry him during the celebration, especially when everyone around them was so happy.
Soon, Jay clapped his hands excitedly, drawing everyone’s attention back to him.
"All right, everyone! Now that we’ve officially introduced our little ones, it’s time for the baby-grabbing game!"
His announcement was met with enthusiastic reactions and several family members immediately began discussing what the babies might choose.
With everyone’s help, a thick, furry carpet was spread across the middle of the living room. Several fluffy pillows were arranged around it to support the babies and keep them comfortable, while the family gathered nearby, some settling onto the sofas and others sitting on the carpet, eager to witness the little ones’ first official game.
