Chapter 1275: Never Before So Shocked (Part 2)

“Quality, freshness, no problem! Look, isn’t everyone enjoying it?” He spoke while gesturing at the customers around who showed no reaction to it.

It seemed like this was the norm.

“…” Ian heard this, his expression went from speechless to almost dazed. Unique craftsmanship? Making zombie meat from over a hundred years ago as fresh as new meat? Is this magic or witchcraft? No wait, this place is originally the Magic Realm… but this is too outrageous!

He couldn’t help but blurt out, “Did you add technology and some hardcore tricks? Don’t tell me your kitchen doesn’t even have a proper cook, not even a real stove! If that’s the case, I’ll have to suspect that your so-called ‘culinary skill’ inheritance needs to rely on these old meats to last a hundred years!”

Ian, before he transmigrated, loved eating at that prepared dish restaurant, but suffered from it deeply, so he remembers this vividly, and encountering similar situations instantly reminded him of that place.

“Uh… I don’t quite understand what you mean?” The attendant clearly didn’t fully grasp Ian’s sarcasm, especially words like “technology and hardcore tricks.” But seeing Ian talking while intermittently glancing towards the kitchen with a suspicious look, he probably understood that Ian was skeptical and wanted to see for himself.

The attendant’s eyes shifted, and instead of stopping him, he displayed a welcoming smile and stepped aside, making a gesture of “please”.

“If the customer doesn’t believe it, you can visit our kitchen yourself! Our skills are absolutely clean and clear!” This attitude can only be shown with absolute confidence in oneself.

But then again, it might not.

After all, there have been proprietors employing similar operations before, which actually can only be seen as mysterious confidence. Seeing the attendant’s candid smile made Ian even more suspicious. So eager to let someone into the kitchen? Could there be a trap? Like getting knocked out as soon as I enter.

And throw me as “fresh ingredient” into that 1893 box?

But the thought quickly passed. Given his capabilities, he’s truly not afraid of such tricks. More driven by intense curiosity—he surely wants to see what these folks are up to! Is there truly some wondrous magic that can reverse time and give zombie meat a new life?

Even for Ian, a Legendary Wizard, this technique seems somewhat unbelievable. After all, to accomplish such things, he too would use his Transformation Technique that far exceeds ordinary abilities.

Not everyone possesses the Extraordinary Traits of his Transformation Technique.

“Alright, I’ll have a look then.” Ian nodded and followed the attendant towards the kitchen. Passing through a dirty curtain-adorned hallway, the kitchen scene came into view. Contrary to Ian’s expectations, it was not as greasy and filthy with cockroaches running rampant as he imagined.

Instead, although the lighting wasn’t particularly bright, with only a few floating Magic Light Balls providing illumination, the kitchen was overall clean and tidy.

At least compared to many restaurants before Ian’s transmigration, it’s much cleaner indeed—it can only be said that unless you’ve been to those takeaway shops, you wouldn’t know just how dirty one could be.

Back to the point.

Perhaps other places in Africa are messy, but it’s certainly better than in India, and the hygiene situation among Wizards has always been ahead of Muggles.

As such.

This small shop’s kitchen could probably surpass over eighty percent of restaurants. The walls are sturdy earth walls, the ground paved with stone slabs, and various kitchenwares are neatly arranged. However, what surprised Ian the most was he didn’t see traditional stoves, fire pits, or busy chefs stir-frying dishes.

Instead, in the center of the kitchen, three Crucibles of different sizes were placed side by side!

Yes, just like the Crucible often used by Wizards for brewing Magic Potions! But these three Crucibles look more heavy and ancient, seemingly made of some alloy of black iron and bronze, with surfaces covered in complex, slightly glowing Magic Runes. Below the Crucibles, there was neither wood nor gas.

But rather, heat was stably provided by a Magic Array embedded in the floor.

“Cooking using the method of Magic Potions?” Ian somewhat understood why the taste was good, Alchemists have better control over heat and temperature as well as the food’s state than chefs.

Yet.

He still felt the zombie meat was decisively too zombie-like, even using boiling Potion methods for processing, couldn’t change the fact they are indeed zombie meat.

“I’ll see what exclusive recipe you use.”

Ian looked closely.

He saw three people dressed in gray Wizard Robes, rather than chef attire, guarding one Crucible each. In their hands were not spatulas, but long, rune-inscribed stirring rods, slowly and attentively stirring the thick liquid bubbling within the Crucibles at a specific rhythm and trajectory.

Ian’s gaze fixed on one actively-working Crucible. He saw the attendant just brought in, that piece of “1893” stamped, frozen rock-hard, dark colored like charcoal old meat being casually thrown into the boiling Crucible by a Wizard. What happened next made Ian’s eyes widen.

“What’s the situation?”

The pot had some water, seemingly clear water but emitted a faint magic power wave, and that old piece of meat, after being put in, didn’t soften slowly like normal meat that requires long boiling.
