Chapter 124 — Fighting Malfoy

Only then did Harry and the others realize that although Vesey was afraid of those people hurting her, what hurt her even more was the fact that she had involved innocent people.

Their hearts ached.

"No matter what, those people have nothing to do with you. They’re all lunatics. How could you possibly develop a Vampire Conversion Potion in your second year?

"Think about it carefully. You’re just an ordinary student..."

Harry was earnestly comforting Vesey when a voice suddenly interrupted him.

"Potter, you’re always like this. You always think your sister isn’t as good as everyone else. What happens in her second year? Why can’t she research the potion?

"Do you think everyone else is stupid and only someone like you can shine?"

It was Malfoy.

A mocking smile played across his lips as he looked at Harry as though he were some disgusting bug.

"The famous Harry Potter always thinks he’s the center of the world!"

Malfoy continued sarcastically.

"My brother never thought that!"

Vesey pretended to be angry.

Malfoy snorted.

"What do you know? All you know how to do is stand in front of other people!"

He was furious.

Ron and Ginny came over at that moment.

They were carrying a pile of books that looked extremely heavy.

"Oh, it’s you. What are you doing here? You must be surprised to see Harry and Vesey here, right?"

Ron said mockingly.

He thought Malfoy was jealous.

That was just the sort of person Malfoy was.

But Malfoy wasn’t about to back down.

"I didn’t expect you to be here either. Look at all those books you’re carrying. They weren’t cheap, were they? Think about your poor parents. They might have to eat nothing but air this month!"

He sneered.

Ron flushed red.

He was just about to beat Malfoy up.

But Vesey was faster.

She stepped forward, grabbed Malfoy, lifted him up, and punched him hard.

"Did you eat dung for breakfast? Why is your mouth so foul every time you open it?"

She clenched her fists and glared at Malfoy.

Ron and Harry were stunned.

They had never expected Vesey to be able to fight.

In the past, Vesey had always relied on her wand.

But now she was beating Malfoy with her bare hands?

There was no time to think about it.

They saw Malfoy struggling violently, and afraid that he might hurt Vesey, they immediately rushed forward.

The three of them grabbed Malfoy by the collar and tumbled to the floor, fighting.

"Ron! Harry! Vesey! Oh my God, get up quickly! Don’t hurt yourselves!"

Mr. Weasley was startled.

He was especially worried when he saw Vesey beating Malfoy. What if Malfoy hurt her?

"Why, isn’t this Arthur Weasley? What are you doing here?"

Lucius Malfoy suddenly grabbed Mr. Weasley.

His face was full of sneer.

He probably thought Mr. Weasley was so worried because Harry and the others had been beaten up.

Mr. Weasley merely nodded coldly.

Lucius didn’t seem to care about his indifference.

He looked at Mr. Weasley and said:

"I heard that someone has been busy with official business and even led a team to conduct a search... How much money and how many benefits did they give you?"

He sneered.

Then he reached into Ginny’s cauldron and pulled out a battered second-hand textbook.

He casually flipped through it before looking at Mr. Weasley mockingly.

"Looks like there weren’t any benefits at all. I really don’t understand what use there is in being the dregs of the wizarding world."

Mr. Weasley’s face flushed.

"We simply have different ideas about who the dregs of the wizarding world are!"

he said angrily.

Lucius’s lips curled upward.

His eyes fell on Mr. and Mrs. Granger.

"Ha. Muggles. I didn’t expect that. I thought your family was all a bunch of—"

Ginny’s cauldron suddenly tipped over and landed on Lucius’s head.

Mr. Weasley and Lucius immediately got into a fight.

They crashed into a bookshelf, sending dozens of books tumbling to the floor.

Mrs. Weasley screamed.

Ginny started crying as well.

"Dad, hit him on the head!"

"Pinch his arm!"

Fred and George shouted encouragement.

"Come on, gentlemen! Give it your best! Let’s have a proper fight!"

The clerk at Flourish and Blotts shouted angrily.

But nobody paid any attention.

It wasn’t until the sound of approaching footsteps caught Vesey’s attention that she stopped beating Malfoy.

She immediately jumped up and ran toward Lucius and Mr. Weasley.

"Stop fighting..."

She sounded embarrassed as she reached out and pulled Lucius and Mr. Weasley apart.

Without even saying another word, Vesey’s strength shocked everyone.

Especially Lucius and Mr. Weasley.

The two men had still been fighting one moment earlier, yet Vesey had suddenly lifted them both up and separated them.

"Mr. Lucius, if you hit someone again, I may have to send you to the Ministry of Magic.

"You wouldn’t want people finding out that the patriarch of the Malfoy family had to go to the Ministry because he got into a fistfight, would you?"

Vesey said seriously.

Lucius finally stopped.

Vesey lowered them both to the ground and looked at them warily.

"Stop fighting. There are so many people here today. You’re causing trouble for the shopkeeper!"

She sighed and began helping the clerk put all the scattered books back onto the shelves.

Lucius suppressed his anger and thrust the textbook he was holding directly into Ginny’s hands.

"Take it. This may be the best thing your good-for-nothing father can give you!"

Mr. Weasley was furious.

He almost charged at Lucius again, but Hagrid stepped between them.

Lucius seized the opportunity to flee.

Hagrid helped straighten Mr. Weasley’s robes and nearly had to hold him back physically.

"You shouldn’t pay any attention to him. That man’s awful. Everyone knows the Malfoys aren’t good people. Their words aren’t worth listening to. All right? That’s enough!"

He grabbed Vesey, who was still helping the clerk, and pulled her and Mr. Weasley outside.

The clerk hesitantly considered asking them to pay for the damage, but after looking at Hagrid’s enormous frame, he wisely kept his mouth shut.

Vesey pretended to feel embarrassed and tried to go back inside to help.

But everyone pushed her away.

"It’s fine. You can’t use your wand here anyway, so don’t worry about it!"

Fred pushed Vesey away from the shop.

"What a terrible example for the children..."

Mrs. Weasley said angrily.

George looked at her with a grin.

"Oh, Mum, Vesey and the others were the ones who started the fight. You didn’t even see how powerful Vesey is. When she hit Malfoy, she slapped him right across the face—"

George didn’t dare finish.

Mrs. Weasley was glaring at him so fiercely that he immediately shut his mouth.

After glaring at George, Mrs. Weasley turned toward Vesey.

She grabbed Vesey worriedly, examined her from head to toe, and only breathed a sigh of relief after finding that she wasn’t injured.

"Poor Vesey. Malfoy must have said something nasty to you.

"But even if he deserved a beating, Vesey, you should have let Ron and Fred handle it. You’re still young! What if you got hurt?"
