Chapter 130: Chapter 130 — He Was Fired?

Chapter 130 — He Was Fired?

At the same time, Harry and Ron, who were still flying through the sky, were filled with regret.

When the two of them discovered that the passage was blocked, their first reaction had not been to ask the teachers at school for help. Instead, they had gone looking for the flying car at home.

They were worried that they wouldn’t be able to get to school if they couldn’t pass through the barrier, so they thought the car was the only way they could reach Hogwarts.

At first, they were incredibly excited after getting into the car.

There was even a large bag of toffees someone had bought lying under the seat, so they could eat sweets while looking out the window.

They could already imagine everyone’s shocked expressions when they saw the two of them flying through the sky.

Ron even said that Fred and the others would definitely be jealous. They had always dreamed of doing something this outrageous.

Harry, however, was a little worried.

He was worried that Vesey would be frightened because he wasn’t there.

Ron was worried for a moment too, but immediately said that they would fly as fast as possible and try to reach Hogwarts as quickly as the Hogwarts Express.

That way, Vesey wouldn’t be afraid.

Harry felt relieved.

But as time passed, both of them gradually began to regret their decision.

For one thing, there was no water in the car. They had eaten too many sweets, and their throats felt like they were on fire.

On top of that, the car’s invisibility function had stopped working. They had no choice but to fly high into the clouds, which meant they kept losing sight of the Hogwarts Express.

Even worse, as the sky grew darker, the car began to make a strange buzzing sound.

The car had never travelled such a long distance before. Perhaps it was exhausted, or perhaps something had gone wrong.

In any case, it kept slowing down.

Harry and Ron could only tap the car with their wands, hoping to somehow give it a little more power.

Fortunately, perhaps their prayers really had worked. The car finally began flying properly again.

During the journey, they eventually saw Hogwarts.

The tall Gryffindor Tower and Astronomy Tower rose before them.

"There it is..."

Ron was delighted when he felt the car shaking beneath them.

Then the car stalled.

It began plummeting straight toward the ground.

Harry and Ron were terrified. They frantically pressed the starter button.

If the car crashed down like this, they could easily be killed.

Perhaps the car managed to regain some strength at the last moment.

Just as they were about to crash into the castle grounds, the engine suddenly started again.

The car skimmed past the castle entrance, flew over the lake, and headed toward the Whomping Willow—

"Bang!"

Something slammed into the car.

Harry and Ron were thrown hard against their seats as the car lurched.

"Ouch!"

Ron cried out in pain.

Harry quickly asked, "Ron, did you hit yourself?"

"No, it’s not me! It’s my wand—it’s broken!"

Ron raised his wand.

It was almost snapped in two.

"Let’s go back..."

Harry was about to suggest that they return and ask the professors for help. Maybe someone could repair it.

But before he could finish, something struck the car violently again.

The car overturned.

Harry and Ron were thrown around inside.

"Ah!"

Ron shouted, covering his eyes.

There was already a cut beneath one of his eyes.

"It’s a branch..."

A very thick branch.

The branches slammed repeatedly into the car, even crushing part of its roof.

"Run!"

The branch whipped toward them again, and Ron screamed.

But it was already too late—

No.

The car suddenly started again.

It righted itself and shot forward, bursting free of the tree’s grasp.

After travelling a long distance, Harry and Ron finally let out a relieved breath.

"That was terrifying..."

Ron was still talking when the car door suddenly flew open.

The two of them were thrown out.

Hedwig gave an angry screech, obviously furious.

She flew over Harry’s head, smacked him with her wings, and then flew away without looking back.

Harry spat out a mouthful of blood.

His lip was split.

"Why don’t you go peck that car instead?!"

He shouted angrily at Hedwig’s retreating figure.

But it was useless. Hedwig had already disappeared.

Harry turned to Ron.

Ron was desperately shouting after the car.

"Come back!"

But after realizing that the car had driven away without even looking back, he turned to Harry with a despairing expression.

"My parents are definitely going to kill me!"

It really was terribly unlucky.

With so many trees around, they had somehow managed to crash into the one tree that could actually hit people.

Harry also felt incredibly unlucky.

But they had no other choice.

They picked up their luggage, their bodies stiff from the cold and exhaustion, and trudged toward Hogwarts, stumbling along with every step.

Their trunks were broken too.

By the time they finally reached the doors leading into the Great Hall, they were exhausted, freezing, and starving.

"I think the feast has already started!"

Ron dropped his trunk by the door.

Then he went over to the window and peered into the Great Hall.

"Look, Harry! They haven’t been sorted yet! They haven’t eaten either. We can have dinner while we’re at it!"

Harry quickly moved over.

He didn’t look at Ginny.

Instead, his eyes immediately locked onto Vesey sitting at the Slytherin table.

"Oh my God, why does Vesey have her head down? She hasn’t been bullied, has she?"

Harry’s expression changed.

"How annoying! I was gone for just one day, and she’s already been bullied. Those people actually dared to bully my sister? Just wait! I’ll make them pay!"

Ron also saw Vesey sitting there with her head lowered, looking incredibly pitiful.

He immediately agreed.

"Yes! Whoever dares to bully Vesey will have to answer to me. I won’t let them off easily!"

Harry nodded absently, his eyes still fixed on Vesey.

He hoped she would raise her head so he could see whether his poor sister was crying.

Just imagining Vesey crying made his heart ache.

He was about to say something when his gaze drifted toward the teachers’ table.

Suddenly, he froze.

Snape’s seat was empty.

Harry immediately pointed it out to Ron.

"Why hasn’t he arrived yet? Is he late?"

To Harry, Snape was the person he hated most after Voldemort.

Although Snape had spent the entire previous year protecting the Philosopher’s Stone and had even saved Harry once, Harry still didn’t have a good impression of him.

Of course, Snape hated him too.

Harry had asked Dumbledore about it before. He couldn’t understand why Snape always seemed to hate him.

Dumbledore had explained that Snape’s relationship with Harry’s father was roughly the same as Harry’s relationship with Malfoy.

Naturally, Harry had become Snape’s target.

As for why Vesey had never been subjected to the same treatment, Harry understood that perfectly well.

Vesey looked like their mother.

Snape had no grudge against Lily, so he treated Vesey exceptionally well.

Of course, Vesey herself was also adorable and well-behaved.

Harry wasn’t jealous of that.

He simply considered it Snape’s recognition of Vesey.

If Snape ever dared to take his anger out on Vesey, Harry would fight him with everything he had.

Thinking about this, Harry maliciously speculated,

"Do you think he got fired? He did such a terrible job protecting the Philosopher’s Stone last year, and then Dumbledore—"

"Maybe he’s waiting to ask you why you didn’t come to school on the Hogwarts Express?"

Harry and Ron suddenly turned their heads.

A tall figure in black robes was standing behind them.

Professor Snape was staring down at them with a sinister expression.
