Chapter 138 — Don’t Talk Nonsense

Vesey’s words made the Gryffindor players burst out laughing, and Hermione even said sarcastically:

"No matter what, all the Gryffindor players made the team based on their own abilities, not some so-called gifts from their families!"

Hermione’s words completely enraged Malfoy.

He shouted angrily:

"Mudblood, say that again!"

Vesey immediately stepped in front of Hermione.

"You want to fight?"

she asked warily.

Just as she was about to step forward and beat Malfoy up, a beam of light suddenly shot from Ron’s wand.

"B..."

Vesey subconsciously started to say something.

But she didn’t stop it.

After all, the spell that struck Malfoy bounced back.

It hit Ron squarely in the stomach.

"Ron, are you okay? Rennervate!"

Vesey immediately cast the Reviving Charm on him.

But it didn’t work.

Ron continued clutching his mouth, and then he vomited.

A large slug came tumbling out.

The Slytherin students burst out laughing.

Vesey glared at them, and they quieted down somewhat.

"Let’s go to Hagrid’s!"

Harry suggested.

Vesey really wanted to complain about the situation.

Was it really a good idea not to take Ron to the hospital wing?

She watched Ron nod in agreement.

Fine!

Things had already turned out like this, and they still wanted to go play with Hagrid, right?

Since everyone agreed, Vesey naturally said nothing.

She helped Ron to Hagrid’s hut together with Harry and the others.

"Hagrid, look at Ron. I’ve already used several Reviving Charms and some Essence of Dittany on him, but nothing works! Am I too stupid? Or did I use the wrong spell?"

Hagrid and the others were helpless.

How could anyone resist such an adorable and considerate Vesey?

"Oh, I don’t blame you. In this situation, he can only spit them out. Just let him spit them out. Even if you took him to Madam Pomfrey, that’s probably all she could do!"

Hagrid comforted Vesey and brought over a large bucket for Ron to vomit into.

"What happened to you? Did you get into a fight with someone?"

Hagrid asked curiously.

Vesey and the others told him what had happened.

Then Vesey asked in confusion:

"Ron got so angry when he heard the word ’Mudblood.’ I don’t really understand what it means. At the hearing before, those people also called my mother and me Mudbloods..."

Harry also looked puzzled.

He didn’t know what the word meant either.

"It’s a very vicious insult. It’s a derogatory name for Muggle-born witches and wizards. Those pure-bloods have no right to call anyone that!"

Hagrid shouted angrily.

Vesey smiled.

She looked at Hermione and said:

"So that’s what it means. But what can I do? My mother was a hero, and Hermione is the smartest little witch in the entire year..."

Hermione’s entire face turned red from the compliment.

She quickly said:

"Vesey, you’re the smartest little witch in the entire year!"

Vesey sighed.

All right!

"I don’t care. In my heart, you’re the most powerful, smartest, and most hardworking little witch. I just study hard, I’m bad at speaking, and I’m always a little silly. Hermione, you’re the person I admire the most!"

Her heartfelt praise finally became too much for Hermione.

She hugged Vesey and planted a hard kiss on her cheek.

She loved Vesey so much!

Hagrid watched the two girls happily clinging to each other.

Then he suddenly seemed to remember something.

He looked at Harry and said:

"Harry, I heard you’re selling signed photographs now. Why haven’t you given me one?"

Harry was eating a piece of gummy candy and nearly choked when he heard this.

"No, I didn’t! Who’s spreading that rumor about me?"

He was about to explode.

Why was he suddenly being dragged into this?

"It’s Lockhart. He came over and asked if I needed his help. While he was here, he also told me that you were selling signed photographs."

Hagrid said with a smile.

Harry nearly jumped up in anger.

"Don’t believe him! He’s slandering me! He’s ruining my reputation..."

Hagrid patted him on the shoulder, making Harry’s face nearly hit the table.

"All right, I was only joking. I told him that you don’t need autographs or photographs to be more famous than him!"

"Then he must have been unhappy."

Ron smiled.

Hagrid nodded.

"So what? I don’t like him very much either. But the first thing he did when he came here was tell me how much Vesey liked him.

"He even said Vesey might want to marry him in the future, and that because he was a professor, he would have to keep his distance from her...

"He made it sound as though he were worthy of our Vesey!"

After saying this, he suddenly looked at Vesey.

"Vesey, you don’t like him, do you?"

Vesey quickly shook her head.

"I just respect him. I don’t like him. I can even swear an Unbreakable Vow..."

Hagrid and the others were deeply moved.

This also showed just how unpopular Lockhart was.

Simply confirming that Vesey didn’t like him was enough to make them so emotional that they gave Vesey a large amount of Energy Points.

Hagrid finally relaxed.

"I told him that Vesey has all the best boys in Hogwarts to choose from, so there’s absolutely no way she’d like him. He was furious.

"I really couldn’t understand what he was doing here. First, he showed me his book, and I told him I hadn’t read it. Then he offered to help me, but I told him I didn’t need any help.

"Then he started talking about Harry and Vesey. It was really annoying!"

Hagrid said angrily.

But when he saw the worried look in Vesey’s eyes, he immediately became cheerful again.

"Come on, let me show you the pumpkins I’ve planted. They’re growing beautifully."

Hagrid took Vesey and the others to the vegetable garden.

They were all stunned.

The pumpkins Hagrid had grown were almost as tall as a person, and every one of them was enormous.

"They look good, don’t they? These are for the Halloween feast. They’ll be even bigger by then!"

Hermione walked around among the pumpkins and said with a smile:

"The Engorgement Charm has been used very well!"

Hagrid glanced guiltily at the pink umbrella he had placed in the corner.

Harry had always suspected that Hagrid’s wand was hidden inside it, because that umbrella could do things far beyond what an ordinary umbrella should be capable of.

It could even give Dudley a pig’s tail!

"Your little sister thinks the Engorgement Charm is very interesting too. She’s been coming here these past few days. I think she might be looking for someone to get an autographed photograph from?"

Hagrid looked at Ron.

Harry quickly shouted:

"Don’t talk nonsense! Don’t talk nonsense..."

Hermione laughed.

But then her eyes suddenly widened in surprise.

Ginny actually liked Harry?

Wasn’t it supposed to be Vesey?

Had Ginny only fallen in love with Vesey later?

Could she do something to make Ginny stop liking Vesey?

Wouldn’t it be better if Ginny and Harry ended up together?

She really didn’t want anyone else stealing Vesey away from her again.

And Mrs. Weasley didn’t like Vesey anyway, so Vesey wouldn’t have to suffer while staying at their house.

After all, she was the one who had thrown away all of Vesey’s belongings.

Who did she think she was?!
