Hogwarts Diary: Snape Goes Crazy
Chapter 151: Extra : Snape Pov
### Extra : Snape Pov
It had been some time since the last time his nemesis’s son had fallen off a broomstick, and Snape had finally grown accustomed to having Vesey at Hogwarts.
Most of the time, his eyes were fixed on the child. He greedily watched her face and followed her every move. He really did adore this girl.
However, he had recently heard Harry Potter and the others telling Vesey that he intended to steal the Philosopher’s Stone.
He had overheard Harry Potter and that Weasley brat discussing it while passing a classroom one day.
Snape had been so furious that he had nearly stormed inside and slapped Harry Potter.
Did the boy want Vesey to start ignoring him again?
In the end, however, he hadn’t gone in. He had simply walked away, his mood darkening.
During this period, he had almost forgotten that he was the one who had made the girl feel helpless in the first place. He was also the reason his nemesis’s child had become the Boy Who Lived.
Although he had wondered countless times why Harry Potter hadn’t been the one to die, he understood that it was all his own fault.
If Harry Potter insisted on telling the girl that Snape intended to steal the Philosopher’s Stone, just for her to end up hating him, then so be it!
He didn’t care about anything anymore.
Snape thought this over in silence.
He would simply wait for the girl to hate him.
...
One day, two days... Several days passed.
Not only did the girl fail to hate him, but she actually grew closer to him.
Even after hearing that his leg had been bitten, she went to his office, Room 367, to look for him, clearly worried.
Snape looked into her adorable, confused eyes and sighed softly.
This child was still too foolish. She ought to be suspicious of him. After all, he had betrayed people before.
Besides, he was gloomy and greasy-looking. Nobody could possibly like someone like him.
But when he looked into the girl’s trusting eyes, he couldn’t help smiling.
At least, until everything was revealed, he could still look after her openly.
Snape considered this seriously.
Then he waved his wand and conjured a piece of cake for her. Seeing how delighted she was, he couldn’t help feeling happy himself.
He told himself that he would wait. He would wait until the girl had grown up. Then he would confess everything and let her hate him.
After the Easter holidays, he noticed that Vesey and his nemesis’s son had begun acting suspiciously.
He secretly followed them once and discovered that they were going to see the dragon Hagrid was raising.
Snape stared in shock at the dragon egg.
He immediately reported the matter to Dumbledore.
Raising a dragon was illegal! Was Hagrid planning to get himself sent to Azkaban?
But, to his surprise, Dumbledore said he already knew.
If he knew, why was he allowing Hagrid to get away with it?
Was this some sort of preparation for the Chosen One?
Or was the old fool planning to have the Chosen One ride a dragon and defeat the Dark Lord?
Snape complained inwardly, though his expression remained as gloomy as ever.
He said nothing to anyone else and continued secretly following Vesey and the others.
Then, one day, he heard that Ronald Weasley had been admitted to the hospital wing.
Madam Pomfrey told him that Ronald Weasley had been bitten by a dragon.
"How strange. Are there dragons at Hogwarts?" Madam Pomfrey asked curiously.
Snape said nothing. He merely tightened his grip on his knife and fork.
No. That thing can’t be allowed to stay here any longer. What if it tries to hurt Vesey too? What am I supposed to do then?
He felt an urge to confront Hagrid, but he noticed that Vesey and the others seemed to understand how serious the situation was. They were already planning to send the dragon away.
After watching them make preparations for several days, they decided that the dragon should be handed over to Ronald Weasley’s brother.
He had originally thought the matter would be settled quietly.
What he hadn’t expected was that Malfoy would report them.
If Malfoy had only reported his nemesis’s son , Harry Potter, Snape would have supported him wholeheartedly.
But Vesey was involved too!
Snape heard about Malfoy’s report from some Slytherin students and immediately rushed to find Professor McGonagall. He was afraid she would catch Vesey.
He knew perfectly well that the girl was timid and naive. She knew nothing about the consequences. She had only wanted to help Hagrid.
Unfortunately, he was still too late.
By the time he reached Professor McGonagall’s office, she had already caught Vesey and Harry Potter.
Seeing the girl looking as though she were about to cry made Snape’s heart ache.
It took all his strength to keep his expression under control as he took Vesey and Malfoy back to his office.
After giving the girl a glass of milk and sending her off to bed, he turned his attention to Malfoy.
He lectured the boy until late into the night before finally letting him go.
The boy had only wanted revenge. Harry Potter had nearly dragged Vesey into trouble, and that made Snape absolutely furious.
Of course, it also left him rather pleased.
Harry Potter and the others’ nighttime adventure had clearly infuriated Professor McGonagall. She had deducted fifty points from each of the students involved.
Seeing the Gryffindors glaring at Harry Potter with such hatred, Snape could barely contain his laughter.
He had to admit that seeing his nemesis’s face wearing such an expression was immensely satisfying.
But his amusement didn’t last long.
Within a few days, the Black Diary received another update.
This time, a new feature had appeared. The diary’s owner could now be asked a question.
Of course, it wasn’t the Muggle who had written the diary, but the mysterious person behind it.
The moment Snape saw this new feature, he immediately asked whether Lily could be resurrected.
But the answer from the diary’s owner shattered all his hopes.
"She doesn’t want to come back, and she doesn’t want to see you either."
That answer nearly brought Snape to tears.
For all these years, he had thought about nothing but how to resurrect Lily or avenge her death.
He had never once considered whether Lily would actually want to see him.
Whether she would even want to return.
His despondency lasted until the end of the school year.
Only when he tormented his mortal enemy’s face and saw the anger on Harry Potter’s face could he find a little comfort.
The exams soon ended, and Snape found himself reluctant to let Vesey return to live with Harry Potter.
He had heard that Harry Potter was going to stay with his aunt and uncle. Snape genuinely couldn’t imagine that the boy would have a pleasant time there, especially after remembering Petunia’s revolting behaviour.
Harry Potter might have a miserable time, but what about Vesey?
She might be bullied by those people too. He had heard they had a large, fat son. Would that boy really leave her alone?
Before Snape could worry about it any further, however, he discovered that Harry Potter and the others were trying to sneak back into the castle with Vesey.
It wasn’t that Snape objected to them returning to the castle. The problem was that there was clearly something suspicious about the way they were sneaking around.
So Snape gave Harry Potter a hard time and deducted points from him.
Watching the anger on Harry Potter’s face, Snape could hardly stop himself from laughing.
Indeed, tormenting Harry Potter was one of life’s greatest pleasures.
