Chapter Twenty-Two: Brother, You’re the Brother!

Harry didn’t know what he was thinking about the girl in front of him. His only thought was that he didn’t want her to be angry.

I want her to talk to me and chat with me.

No matter what happens, just don’t be sad or angry...

Whenever she was sad, Harry felt his heart ache.

If this girl hated him, Harry...

Life was full of love.

Vesey was also a little surprised that Harry had actually shown someone his scar on their very first meeting.

After all, in the original story, Harry hadn’t even been very willing to let Ron look directly at his scar.

Unexpectedly, he had taken the initiative with her.

And Harry had even introduced himself the first time they met.

Vesey sighed inwardly.

She had originally wanted to tease Harry a little and get to know him again.

But now that Harry had already told her his name, she could only put on a surprised expression and cry out dramatically:

"Brother, you’re the brother!"

Harry froze.

Only then did he remember that Hagrid had told him he had a sister.

He had originally planned to wait until the train had left before looking for his sister.

He never expected that his sister would already be right beside him.

"You’re Vesey!"

A delighted expression appeared on his face.

"Great! I was wondering why I felt so comfortable around you!"

He had never been so courteous to a girl before.

After learning that the girl in front of him was his sister, Vesey, he immediately relaxed.

"How have you been all these years? I mean... you look pretty good."

More than good.

The girl’s face was fair, and there was no trace of hardship on her delicate features.

Even the robes she wore were made from the most comfortable material.

Although there were no decorations on them, Harry still felt that his sister looked like a little princess from some distant kingdom.

He wasn’t jealous of her at all.

Instead, he smiled gently.

He didn’t want his sister to have a life like his.

Vesey smiled obediently.

"I’ve been at Angel Baby Orphanage all these years. The matron’s mother has always been very kind to me. Although I was always hungry, she said that not eating too much was good for my health.

"By the way, I didn’t really like the educational activities there. I was always beaten because they said I was disobedient.

"Also, it was only after the Professor told me that I realized we could actually go to school. I’d never been to school before.

"Brother, is school fun?"

Of course, Vesey knew that Dumbledore had created a background for her in which she had been recuperating in a sanatorium.

But she didn’t want people to think that she had lived a good life since childhood.

It was obvious that the original owner hadn’t been doing well and had nearly suffered a terrible fate.

Yet after Dumbledore had arranged things this way, it almost seemed as though Harry was the only one who had suffered.

So she smiled as though she didn’t understand anything.

Anyway, Snape hadn’t told her about Dumbledore’s arrangement, so no one could say she had grown up in a sanatorium.

Besides, if she was going to act this "simple and well-behaved," how could she hide it when her brother asked her about her childhood?

Harry frowned.

Angel Baby Orphanage!

That reminded him of something he had seen in the news before.

Everyone there had been arrested.

Apparently, it was because of child abuse, and the children weren’t allowed to attend school. If they misbehaved, they would even be sold or killed.

Harry remembered it clearly because Uncle Vernon had laughed at him about it at the time.

If he hadn’t been lucky enough to be taken in by the Dursleys, he would have had to go to that orphanage.

And he might have been sold without even knowing what was happening.

But Vesey had actually grown up in that place?

That devil’s den?

"Hagrid, the gamekeeper at Hogwarts, told me that you grew up in a sanatorium..."

Vesey tilted her head.

"What is a sanatorium? I only know about orphanages. I don’t have parents, so I could only stay in an orphanage."

Harry clenched his fists angrily.

He was even a little unhappy with Hagrid.

After returning, he had looked into the sanatorium and thought that the environment there seemed quite good.

Who would have thought that his sister had actually been living in a devil’s den?

Why had they hidden all the suffering Vesey had endured over the years?

Harry slammed his fist onto the table.

Vesey was startled.

Harry immediately pulled his hand back.

"I’m sorry. Your brother is just angry."

Vesey shook her head.

She smiled and said, "It’s all right. Everything is over now. The Professor treats me very well. He even gave me nutritional potions. Look, don’t I look just like the other girls now?"

Of course Harry knew that she looked like any other girl now.

But the suffering his sister had endured could never simply disappear.

"That’s too much! If those people hadn’t already been arrested, I would have dealt with them myself!"

he said angrily.

He wanted to punch the table again, but he was afraid of frightening Vesey, so he finally held himself back.

"All right, Brother. It’s all over. I’m not sad."

Vesey smiled.

Then she changed the subject.

"Brother, how have you been all these years?"

Harry sighed.

"It’s actually not that bad."

Definitely much better than Vesey.

At least the Dursleys gave him food and a place to live.

Although they sometimes scolded him, beat him, and locked him in the cupboard, there were other people living nearby, and the Dursleys didn’t dare go too far.

Poor Vesey.

She was the one who should have been cherished.

"Don’t worry, Vesey. Your brother will take care of you from now on..."

Before Harry could finish, the compartment door was pushed open.

A red-haired boy with a black smudge on his nose poked his head inside.

"Can I sit here? There’s no one else."

Harry looked at Vesey.

Vesey nodded.

Ron stepped inside.

His face was red, but he still pretended to be calm as he walked in, panting slightly while placing his luggage on the luggage rack.

Vesey wanted to go over and help, but Harry stopped her.

"He can do it himself!"

Harry himself wasn’t willing to let his sister help him, so how could he let Vesey help someone else?

Of course, he still remembered how Mrs. Weasley had helped him before he entered the station.

So Harry went over and helped Ron put his luggage away.

After Ron finished arranging his things, he sat awkwardly a short distance from Harry, not knowing what to say.

Vesey was still waiting for him to ask Harry whether he was Harry Potter when Ron suddenly asked, his face turning red:

"You... you’re Vesey, right?"
