Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1220: Persuading Arianna
“Bang!”
Kael stood outside, watching the door of Potter’s Magic Pharmacy being mercilessly shut.
But soon the door was opened again, and Kode threw out a large package from inside, then slammed the door shut again.
Dumbledore stood outside, puzzled as he watched all this.
“It’s nothing, I just bought a few things,” Kael explained.
He picked up the package, which contained about a dozen different magic potions. Some of them were smashed due to Kode’s rough handling just now, but most were still intact.
Kael picked them out and put them into his box… even though they were quite common types, it was his own money spent, so they couldn’t be wasted.
“You suddenly came over just to buy potions?” Dumbledore was even more puzzled.
In his impression, Kode wasn’t a renowned Potion Master, and the things here could easily be found at any potion shop, even a fifth-year student with decent potion skills could brew them.
Was it necessary for Kael to make a special trip at this time?
“Buying potions isn’t the goal, I’m here for this.” Kael took out the box and showed it.
Dumbledore, who was still wondering why Kael came here, suddenly realized something upon seeing the old box.
“Invisibility Cloak?”
“To be precise, it’s one of the Deathly Hallows, the Invisibility Cloak,” Kael said. “Perhaps only this can give Arianna at this time a glimmer of hope.”
Dumbledore trembled.
Yes, how could he forget, he knew long ago that the Invisibility Cloak had been passed down in the Potter family for generations. Why hadn’t he thought of it before?
“He just lent it to you like that?” Dumbledore suddenly realized something, “No one probably understands how precious this item is more than Kode.”
“It wasn’t easy indeed, so I used a bit of a special method…” Kael briefly recounted the events in the store.
“Twenty Galleons… and three bottles of wine?” Dumbledore marveled, “Didn’t expect it to be so simple.”
“It’s not simple at all,” Kael glanced back, “His wife was also there.”
“If the difference in strength wasn’t so vast, even if I gave him a hundred bottles of wine, he wouldn’t take out the Invisibility Cloak.”
“Wait.” Dumbledore looked at Kael nervously, “Did you…”
“Don’t misunderstand, I didn’t do anything, just showed a bit of magic,” Kael shook his head, “My intention was to make him believe I wasn’t here to rob the cloak, but Kode didn’t dare gamble, he just made the best choice available.
He tried to gain some advantages later on, but he genuinely enjoyed those wines… after all, they were left by Hufflepuff, rarely seen by anyone.”
“Hufflepuff?” Dumbledore was utterly confused, the loss of his memory naturally kept him from recalling the Golden Cup issue.
“That’s not important,” Kael said.
After obtaining what they wanted, the two started heading towards Dumbledore’s house.
During this time, Dumbledore couldn’t help but keep looking at the box in Kael’s hand, asking, “Do you intend to use it to hide Arianna?”
“That’s the idea,” Kael said, opening the box and holding the cloak, seemingly woven with water, in his hand.
The so-called Holy Artifact, also known as Deathly Hallows, appeared in “The Tales of Beedle the Bard,” a fairy tale well-known in the wizarding world, akin to “Andersen’s Fairy Tales” in the Muggle World.
It’s a bit of a long story, legend says three brothers met the legendary God of Death and passed his test, and Death decided to grant each of them one wish.
But Kael preferred to believe it was just a boredom-induced trick game by Death.
The eldest brother, being warlike, asked for the most powerful wand, which he used to defeat all enemies, but was eventually assassinated in his sleep and killed.
Then Death claimed his soul, marking his failure.
The arrogant second brother, Cadmus, tried to mock Death, wishing to resurrect the dead. Death also granted this wish, giving him a stone; rotating it thrice in his hand would resurrect the soul he desired.
Cadmus returned home and used the Resurrection Stone to revive a former beloved girl.
However, Death didn’t mention that the stone could only summon souls, and those souls didn’t belong to this world, enduring constant pain here.
Cadmus grew even more anguished, to truly immerse in the girl’s world, he voluntarily ended his life, conceding to Death.
Lastly, the third brother, Ignatius, was the smartest and the only one who didn’t believe in Death. Out of caution, he wished to go somewhere beyond Death’s grasp, obtaining the Invisibility Cloak.
Legend says this Invisibility Cloak is Death’s own cape.
He succeeded, Death searched for many years but couldn’t find him until Ignatius grew very old and finally took off the cloak, leaving it to his son, greeting Death like an old friend, and happily went along with him.
That’s the story of the three brothers, virtually every child born in wizard families has read it. Most wizards believe the tale warns them to stay vigilant.
