Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Britney Wants to “Stir Things Up”

Irene put down her phone, returned to her room to take a shower, and as she lay in bed, images of the movies Henry Cavill had starred in in her past life uncontrollably surfaced in her mind.

In fact, she had been a fan of Henry Cavill. The first time she saw Henry Cavill in The Tudors, she was deeply attracted to his portrayal of Charles Brandon—the sharp profile, the deep eyes, and that innate noble temperament in every gesture.

Later, his portrayal of Superman became an irreplaceable hero image in her heart. His towering physique and the way his cape snapped in the wind satisfied all her imaginations of a superhero.

Then came Mission: Impossible – Fallout, where his character August Walker was cold and powerful, with every action scene making her blood boil.

She had been captivated by him on screen countless times, but she never thought that one day she would cross paths with him in such a way.

In this life, she had come to the other side of the Pacific. From the moment she decided to become a director, she had wondered if she would one day collaborate with Henry Cavill.

She didn’t expect to meet her past-life idol before he even became famous. Although she hadn’t recognized him at first, such a twist of fate was truly intoxicating.

Actually, after seeing so many big stars, she wasn’t as excited to see him as she would have been in her previous life. However, he had held a place in her heart after all, so it wasn’t easy to forget him all at once.

This feeling was a bit complex yet joyful, making her want to share the flutter in her heart with someone.

She picked up her phone and dialed Britney’s number. The phone rang twice before being picked up, and Britney’s lively voice came through the receiver: "Irene? Why the sudden call? How did the audition go?"

Irene’s lips curled up unconsciously, her voice unable to hide her excitement. "It went very smoothly, Brit. You’ll never guess who came to audition for the role of Will Turner."

"Who? Is it some big star?" Britney asked curiously.

"It’s Henry," Irene paused and said clearly, "Henry Cavill."

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end. "Which Henry?"

"Do you remember when we went to Hawaii? The year you won the MTV Best New Artist Award."

Immediately after, Britney’s exclamation came: "Oh my god! You mean that Henry? The young handsome guy you met that summer? Heavens, did he come specifically to find you?"

"That’s him," Irene nodded with a smile, even though Britney couldn’t see her.

"But he didn’t come specifically for me. He’s been in Los Angeles for a year, worked in a few crews, and even signed under Shelly. His performance in this audition was outstanding, and the production has already confirmed him for the second male lead, Will Turner."

"My god! That’s unbelievable!" Britney’s voice was full of disbelief. "Irene, how do you feel right now? This is such a coincidence!"

Irene’s mood at this moment was indeed complex—joy, excitement, and an indescribable sense of wonder. She said slowly,

"Mostly, it just feels incredible. We met in Hawaii, and when we left, I thought it would be hard to see each other again. Who knew he would become an actor, and in just one year, audition for the second male lead in my movie? This kind of fate is truly miraculous."

"I was so disappointed that you two didn’t work out back then. Now he’s actually come to Los Angeles. Fate really is unstoppable once it arrives. When the movie starts filming and you’re together every day, will you rekindle the old flame?" Britney laughed mischievously.

"Why do you all say that?" Irene was caught between laughter and tears. "Am I the type of person to two-time? It’s been so long, and besides, we weren’t officially together back then. What ’old flame’ is there to rekindle?"

"Well, I don’t know if you two were out counting stars and the moon. If it really comes down to it, just dump Loren. He’s not as handsome as Henry anyway.

Besides, you’re a director and he’s an actor—what a perfect match! In the future, you can go to events hand-in-hand, and you’ll never have to worry about finding a date again."

Hearing Britney’s irresponsible remarks, Irene shook her head. "I don’t choose a boyfriend based purely on looks."

"Can you say that without blushing? You don’t care about looks? Fine, even if we set looks aside, wouldn’t an actor have more in common with you than a veterinarian? Not to mention, Loren has an unreliable mother and a profit-driven father.

Last time you complained to me that his mom is hard to deal with. I wanted to urge you to break up then, but you didn’t have anyone else to date, so I thought you might as well keep dating him since you weren’t going to marry him anyway.

Now it’s perfect Henry is here. Someone younger, more handsome, and with more in common with you has appeared. I think you can switch to a new boyfriend."

Britney had been holding these words back for a long time. Someone as outstanding as her Irene only wanted to find a boyfriend. If the word got out, applicants from Hollywood could line up around Los Angeles.

Why give up a whole forest for a veterinarian? If Loren were thoughtful and knew how to be attentive every day, that would be one thing, but he even had a troublesome mother who made Irene upset every time they met.

Not only that, she heard from Vivian that he actually went to an art exhibition with another woman last time without telling Irene beforehand. Apparently, that girl not only had a name similar to Irene’s but even looked somewhat like her. No matter how you looked at it, something was fishy.

Irene smiled helplessly. "It’s not as exaggerated as you say. I don’t even see his mother once a year. She can basically be ignored. Besides, how do you know Henry wants to date me?"

"I just know!"

Irene shook her head again. "Oh, you. I’m not talking to you anymore. Get some rest."

"Hmph!" Before Irene could say goodbye, Britney hung up with a "snap."

Irene’s "let it be" attitude made her want to stomp her feet in frustration. Ambiguity is the biggest taboo in a relationship. She felt there was definitely something wrong with Loren and that female friend who suddenly appeared. It was just that Irene was too busy to care, but she couldn’t watch her best friend be deceived.

"No, I can’t let Irene be kept in the dark like this." Britney stood up abruptly, pacing quickly across the carpet in her bare feet, a plan already forming in her mind.

She pulled out her phone and dialed her assistant Bella’s number, her tone resolute and without hesitation.

"Bella, do you know any paparazzi or reliable private investigators?" Britney decided to help Irene keep an eye on Loren. If he really was cheating, then Irene could dump him fair and square.
