Chapter 385: Gucci
Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Gucci
At exactly six o’clock in the afternoon, the lights in the show venue suddenly dimmed, and the noise from the crowd gradually subsided.
As a dynamic piece of music began to play, the Gucci 2004 Autumn/Winter collection show officially commenced.
The first model, wearing a black fur coat paired with high boots, walked confidently from the end of the runway.
The luxurious texture of the fur complemented the sharp tailoring, instantly igniting the atmosphere of the venue.
Following that, various coats, sweaters, dresses, and gowns appeared one after another.
Against the deep-toned background, bright colors like gold and red were interspersed, providing both the weight of autumn and winter and a sense of fashion and vitality.
The models’ exquisite makeup and sophisticated accessories perfectly matched the clothing, showcasing the unique design aesthetics of Gucci.
The cameras above the runway moved back and forth, recording every brilliant performance of the models.
Because Irene Coppola was seated in a prime location, the camera swept over her several times, but she maintained a poised smile, appearing calm and natural.
Irene watched the show while silently marveling to herself.
It was no wonder Gucci had remained enduringly popular in the luxury fashion sector; every piece was filled with creativity and detail, retaining the brand’s classic elements while incorporating new fashion trends.
She occasionally took out her phone to photograph styles she liked, planning to contact the brand to purchase the related garments after the show ended.
However, during the lulls, her gaze would involuntarily drift toward Anna Wintour.
She saw that Anna Wintour maintained an elegant posture, occasionally whispering a few words to the person beside her, her expression focused and serious.
What made Irene curious was that sitting next to Anna was a young woman, appearing to be in her twenties, wearing a simple white dress with an elegant aura.
Anna Wintour was exceptionally kind to her, and the two seemed to be having a very engaging conversation.
"Sister, who is that young woman next to Anna Wintour?" Irene asked, unable to help lowering her voice.
Sophia looked in the direction of her gaze and said, "She is the little princess of the Condé Nast group, Elizabeth Newhouse. Condé Nast is the parent company of many fashion magazines like Vogue and GQ, and her father is the chairman of the group. Although Elizabeth is young, she already has a certain level of influence in the fashion circle, and many brands want to collaborate with her."
"So that is how it is." Irene sighed inwardly. She was truly a winner in life, standing at a height from birth that others could hardly reach.
Just as she was thinking this, Elizabeth Newhouse’s gaze happened to sweep over, and their eyes met in the air.
Irene did not look away but instead offered a kind, polite smile.
Elizabeth was taken aback for a moment, then immediately returned a gentle smile, her eyes filled with a hint of curiosity and friendliness.
Forty minutes later, as the last model walked down the runway in a gorgeous golden gown, the Gucci show concluded successfully.
Enthusiastic applause filled the venue as the models walked onto the runway together for the finale, and the designer emerged from backstage to bow to the audience.
After the show, Sophia hurried away because she had to check the arrangements for tomorrow’s Prada show.
Irene packed her things and walked toward the venue exit alone.
Just as she reached the entrance, she saw Elizabeth Newhouse standing there talking to the staff.
Seeing Irene, Elizabeth walked over with a smile.
"Hello, are you Director Irene Coppola? I really like your movies, especially Million Dollar Baby; it really touched me after I watched it."
"Hello, Miss Elizabeth." Irene responded with a smile. "Thank you for your appreciation. I also read Vogue often; your magazine is done very well."
"I am very happy to have your approval." Elizabeth’s smile became even brighter. "I heard before that you were coming to Milan Fashion Week and have always wanted to meet you. I admire your talent and achievements very much. I also like movies in my spare time, and I hope we can have the chance to exchange ideas in the future."
"I would be happy to." Irene said. "I hope we can have the opportunity to reach some cooperation."
After all, her new project was closely related to the fashion circle.
If she could get the support of the Newhouse family, the achievements of the new project might far exceed those of her previous life.
Thinking of this, Irene’s tone added a bit more initiative and enthusiasm.
The two stood at the entrance of the venue and chatted amicably.
They talked about movies and fashion, from Milan to Los Angeles, discovering that they had many common interests and topics.
Hitting it off, the two exchanged contact information and even added each other as Facebook friends.
"Let us keep in touch." Elizabeth said. "If you come to New York, you must tell me, and I will treat you to a meal."
"Okay, definitely." Irene nodded. "If you go to Los Angeles, you are also welcome to come find me, and I will take you to visit my studio."
After saying goodbye to Elizabeth Newhouse, Irene walked back to the hotel alone.
By this time, the lights on both sides of the Milan streets were all turned on, and the brilliant lights dyed the leaves on both sides gold.
The crowd on the street remained lively, with many beautiful young people standing by the roadside, speaking freely and exchanging their feelings about the show they had just seen.
Irene’s heart seemed to grow young as well.
Suddenly, a small group walked out from the front.
The young woman surrounded in the middle had brilliant blonde hair, and her smile was very infectious.
She kept laughing and joking with the people around her.
Irene vaguely felt that the other person looked familiar, but she really could not remember where she had seen her.
Returning to her hotel room, Irene opened her computer, first browsing the discussions on Facebook about Milan Fashion Week, and then scrolling through some fashion notes shared by girls in a fashion group.
One of them happened to be the girl she had seen downstairs at the hotel.
Looking through the photos one by one, Irene finally remembered the girl’s name.
Blake Lively.
In the future, she would become famous for starring in Gossip Girl, then date Leonardo DiCaprio, and become a globally renowned teenage idol and fashion icon, long ranking as one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.
However, her reputation in Hollywood could only be described as average.
Even though she played one of the most popular female television characters in the United States, because of her insufficient acting skills and deep binding to the "rich girl/American sweetheart" persona, it was difficult for her to play other complex or dark roles.
After several failed attempts to transition into the film industry, and facing highly controversial public relations incidents that damaged her public image, Irene could only say it was a pity for such an actress.
However, Gossip Girl was indeed a good television series, which could serve as the starting work for her new industry.
Since she was preparing to shoot a fashion movie, why not add a fashion television series as well?
