Chapter 1337: Chapter 503: Scheduled Face-Off (6K, Additional Update 4/14)

Qin Miao: "We’ll see. If we can, we’ll have a competition."

"World champion teaching?"

Qin Miao grinned, "No, just itching to thrash some amateurs."

Zhou Guanyu: "Oh, shut up!"

With Zhou Guanyu bantering beside him, the journey wasn’t dull.

Over an hour later, Qin Miao arrived at Zhou Guanyu’s house.

After putting his things in the room Zhou Guanyu prepared for him, Qin Miao thought about going out for a meal.

Then, Qin Miao saw Zhou Guanyu open the refrigerator, which was full of freshly bought ingredients.

Qin Miao’s mouth twitched slightly.

But he pretended not to see it and said, "Let’s eat out, my treat!"

Zhou Guanyu smacked his lips with a hint of regret but didn’t insist, essentially because letting a guest cook is a bit unreasonable.

So they went out and had hotpot together.

In the afternoon, Qin Miao didn’t go out, he stayed home with Zhou Guanyu and gamed all afternoon.

Young men in their twenties, after being cooped up in work for a year, finally on holiday, and gaming with friends.

This feeling, anyone who’s experienced it knows.

It’s much like gaming with your college roommates during vacation.

When not gaming together, everyone can moderate.

But once indulgence begins, it’s hard for both of them to control themselves.

Originally, they planned to play for just an afternoon, then go out to bars in the evening, and check out The Bund’s night scenery.

Then, sitting in front of computers, they started a game of CSGO and couldn’t stop.

Winning a match: Awesome! Let’s climb ranks! Another game! I feel I can still rank up.

Losing a match: That wave wasn’t played well, got too excited, another match!

A draw: Damn, I carried so hard, yet my CS teammates just fed, not satisfied, another game!

...

Just playing match after match, unknowingly the sky became completely dark.

Feeling slightly hungry, they ordered takeout between matches and continued gaming.

When they finally realized, the sky outside had brightened.

They pulled an all-nighter playing CSGO.

Typically, CSGO players know that the game is quite exhausting.

Since in CSGO matches, you hardly get a break; a small round lasts 2 minutes, with at least 1 minute and 20 seconds requiring intense focus.

Most people can handle two or three matches, but as the number of matches increases, energy inevitably wanes, and fatigue sets in.

Unlike MOBA games like LOL or DOTA2, where death, returning home for replenishment, waiting for minion waves, or even the start of the game all have downtime, CSGO offers very little relaxation time.

But Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu’s professions dictate that they can focus for long periods without mental exhaustion.

So immersed in the game, they didn’t feel much discomfort pulling an all-nighter.

Only when the sky was completely bright did they suddenly realize it was already the next morning.

"Holy crap, we gamed all night!" Qin Miao was shocked.

Zhou Guanyu was more relaxed, "Staying up all night isn’t good, so pulling an all-nighter is just fine, no problem!"

Qin Miao ignored Zhou Guanyu’s jokes, rubbing his temples helplessly.

Originally, when coming to Shanghai, Qin Miao planned to stay at Zhou Guanyu’s for a night and visit Shanghai the next day.

But playing too much led to an all-nighter, messing up the entire schedule.

Yet, it was too late to change anything, so they quickly turned off the computers, took a shower, and went to sleep.

Fortunately, both were fit with regular exercise and healthy lifestyles; after sleeping the morning, they regained their energy.

Lucky for these young men. If veteran players like Hamilton and Alonso stayed up like Zhou Guanyu and Qin Miao, they’d need three or four days to recover.

In the afternoon, Qin Miao stayed in, training with Zhou Guanyu at home.

On the third day, Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu went to Shanghai.

Coincidentally, it was an open day at Shanghai Racing Circuit, and Shanghai was sunny.

But the local temperature hovered around 0°, with track temperatures in single digits, not suitable for racing.

With no tire warmers, the tires can’t heat up. Even with warmers, in such cold air, they cool quickly. Even if Qin Miao drove on the track, he couldn’t maintain optimal tire temperature.

Of course, this didn’t stop Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu from visiting Shanghai.

It was Qin Miao’s third visit to Shanghai.

They didn’t notify the organizers.

If Zhou Guanyu were to visit, he’d likely inform Jiushi Sports and arrange an event or something.

But Qin Miao doesn’t like doing that; he just visited Shanghai as a regular tourist.
