How Do We Play If This Boss Isn't Nerfed?

Chapter 588 - 244: Domain and Dragon Breath: Skill Test

Floating in the center of the bridge, Lin Ye sent a command through the Fire Seed Source with a mere thought.

The next moment, the space before him rippled as several deep blue screens of light materialized out of thin air.

As the screens of light flashed, Ah Qiang’s figure was the first to appear. Close behind him were Carlos and several other elites of the Curse Bone Race, as well as more than a dozen all-purpose combat models emanating A-Class fluctuations.

"Master!"

Ah Qiang was still a bit dazed from the teleportation, but the moment he saw Lin Ye clearly, the soulfire in the empty sockets of his skeletal face flared, and he immediately dropped to one knee.

Behind him, whether it was the unruly Curse Bone Race or the emotionless Intelligent Mechanism Race, all performed the same action at the same instant.

All his minions were on one knee, silently awaiting Lin Ye’s command.

Lin Ye wasted no words.

He directly activated the core skill he had long been waiting for.

[Dragon Descendant Incarnation]!

An indescribable scorching heat erupted from his heart, like a supernova, and instantly swept through his entire body!

Lin Ye felt his blood ignite in an instant, turning into surging magma that coursed madly through his every vein.

His body temperature climbed at an alarming rate, warping the very air around him.

His height began to skyrocket!

His bones were forcibly stretched and reshaped, accompanied by a sickening series of CRACKS and POPS.

His already powerful muscle fibers swelled and bulged at a visible rate, like steel cables being inflated by a high-pressure pump!

The combat suit on his upper body could no longer withstand the brutal expansion and burst apart, reduced to tattered scraps.

Hard, bluish-black dragon scales erupted from beneath his skin!

They had the texture of metal and the luster of jade. The edge of each scale shimmered with a cold, dark light. Overlapping seamlessly, they instantly covered Lin Ye’s entire body.

Lin Ye felt his knuckles lengthen. His fingernails rapidly hardened and sharpened, transforming into five pitch-black talons that gleamed with a deadly, cold light.

His feet underwent a similar transformation, becoming powerful, digitigrade dragon talons that dug firmly into the alloy floor, built for support and explosive force.

From either side of his forehead, a pair of majestic dragon horns sprouted upwards. His once deep, dark eyes were replaced by a brilliant molten gold, and his pupils elongated into cold, merciless vertical slits.

A mere glance from those eyes made Ah Qiang and the other minions feel their souls shudder, as if they had been targeted by a savage beast from a primordial era.

Finally, a thick, powerful dragon tail shot out from the base of his spine, covered in the same bluish-black scales as his body.

The entire transformation took only a few short seconds.

And to his pleasant surprise, Lin Ye discovered something else.

During his Dragon Descendant Incarnation transformation, his body became incorporeal.

’The system must have applied its phase-transition mechanic to my transformation process as well.’

At first, this change seemed a bit illogical.

But Lin Ye was reassured when he recalled how various bosses in movies and video games are invincible while transforming.

’Makes sense!’

’Who dares say it doesn’t make sense!’

With the transformation complete,

Lin Ye’s height had shot up from his original 1.8 meters to a terrifying height of nearly 2.5 meters!

His thick dragon tail hung down naturally, its length nearly matching his new height.

He floated in mid-air, his current form clearly reflected on the bridge’s mirror-smooth walls.

Ferocious, domineering, and filled with a sense of power.

Bluish-black scales covered streamlined muscles, while his golden, slitted pupils shone with god-like indifference.

Inwardly, Lin Ye breathed a sigh of relief.

’Good.’

’By my standards, this appearance isn’t ugly at all. In fact, it’s actually pretty cool.’

’If this transformation had made me grotesque and hideous, I would’ve felt sick every time I had to use it.’

Feeling the explosive power that seemed ready to overflow within him, Lin Ye slowly clenched and unclenched his taloned hand, his massive tail swaying gently behind him.

The greatest shock came not from the increase in strength, but from the complete overhaul of his senses.

First, there was his sight.

The entire world looked different.

He could clearly see that the essence of the kneeling Ah Qiang was no longer simple white bone, but a flickering soul flame bound by countless black runic chains within a skeletal cage.

He could even see, at the core of that flame, the faint mark of his own brand of domination.

As for the A-Class Intelligent Mechanisms, their smooth metal shells were practically transparent to his gaze. He could directly perceive their complex internal energy circuits, as well as the heavily protected cores hidden deep within their chests or skulls.

Next was the change in his combat experience, brought on by his new physical form.

With a thought, Lin Ye summoned his spear, Dark Night, into his talons.

However, when he tried to perform a flourish as he usually did, it felt incredibly awkward.

The weapon, tailor-made for a human physique and fighting style, now felt almost delicate in his draconic talons.

Both the grip and the mechanics of wielding it were completely at odds with his current body structure.

It was like a mountain of a man trying to charge into battle wielding an embroidery needle; the entire image was just wrong.

Lin Ye frowned and unsummoned the spear.

’It seems this form is better suited for pure melee combat.’

Lin Ye didn’t use any skills. He just threw a casual punch, then a sweeping kick. Finally, he spread his talons and swiped through the air at a super-alloy wall not far away!

SCREECH—!

A piercing screech of metal on metal echoed as five claw marks, several inches deep, were gouged into the wall—a wall strong enough to withstand artillery fire!

The edges of the marks were perfectly smooth, as if they had been cut by a laser.

At the same time, the dragon tail behind Lin Ye whipped violently to the side!

CRACK!!!

The air itself seemed to shatter, letting out a sharp, explosive crack!

Lin Ye saw his kneeling minions all flinch in unison, their eyes filled with unconcealable terror.

Ah Qiang felt as if the gale from that single tail whip had nearly extinguished his soulfire.

His mind was reeling.

’The Master... how did he turn into a dragon?!’

’That power, that speed... If that tail had hit me, I’m afraid I wouldn’t even be left as bone dust—I’d be blasted straight to ash!’
