How to Bring Common Sense to Xianxia World
Chapter 312: The Wedding Night
The feast went as expected. People from various sects and clans came to congratulate Wei Chen without pause. Some went to his boss while praising Wei Chen’s achievements and showering him with flattery, as if their throats would never go dry from speaking too much.
In fact, it seemed that if they were alone and there were no witnesses, they might crawl on all fours and start licking his boss’s boots.
But it was not as though Wei Chen didn’t understand their mindset. After all, it was not every day that they could see an expert who could crush Immortal Realm cultivators without breaking a sweat like his boss.
After this incident, people from various forces quickly sent the news back to their headquarters about the strength of the Underworld Palace and the "Underworld Lord." Yes, the "Underworld Lord" was the alias his boss used when he mingled with them.
The food at the feast was, of course, prepared entirely by Ding Lao’s team. The guy himself seemed to have already forgotten about his dream of becoming an alchemist and was now focusing on the culinary path instead.
Well... to be fair, when he was aiming to become an alchemist, people treated him like shit. Now that he had discovered that he surprisingly had a knack for being a chef and people respected him for it, of course the guy wouldn’t care much about a dream that had given him nothing but daily humiliation.
Wei Chen spent several hours at the feast before the various guests began returning to their respective residences, whether on their flying arks, at inns, or at their properties within the city.
Wei Chen oversaw the feast until the very end, including the cleanup. After making sure that everything was in order, he quickly excused himself and returned to the bridal chamber.
Of course, before he could leave, he had to beat up Yun Feng and Ximen Hao, who had tailed him because they wanted to watch the live performance between him and Mo Xingyao.
...
Within the bridal chamber, Mo Xingyao was waiting for Wei Chen to return. She wasn’t alone. Dream Butterfly was also with her.
As for Song Wan, since her relationship and familiarity with Wei Chen weren’t as strong as those of the other two, coupled with the fact that she was the daughter of the Song Clan, a prominent clan from the Vermilion Bird Province, she had already returned to the residence that the Song Clan had purchased in Thousand Treasure City to avoid any gossip.
Mo Xingyao knew that Song Lei aimed to establish ties with the Underworld Palace. Coupled with the fact that Song Wan seemed to be interested in Wei Chen, it was highly likely that the Song Clan would try to betroth her to him.
She didn’t mind Song Wan. That girl was naively righteous, but she seemed to have wised up. The three of them also got along well, even though Mo Xingyao and Dream Butterfly had only known her for a short time.
Besides, with the Song Clan involved, her business in the Vermilion Bird Province would have the protection of a prominent local clan like the Song Clan. It would help her in the long run.
More importantly than Song Wan, however, was the fact that...
Was she really supposed to do *that* with Wei Chen today?
Yes, she knew that it was part of a wife’s duty, but still... she couldn’t get her thoughts straight about it. She was still very nervous.
Would it hurt? She had heard from the maids that it would. Would she be alright? If she were to give birth, would she be able to endure it?
There were more than a thousand questions running through her head right now, and she couldn’t make sense of any of them.
While Mo Xingyao was lost in her own thoughts, Dream Butterfly called out to her.
"Sister Yaoyao."
"Huh?" Mo Xingyao snapped out of her thoughts and looked at her good sister, who was sitting with her at the same table.
The table had a selection of food from the feast that Wei Chen had ordered the servants to bring in for her.
Dream Butterfly pointed at Mo Xingyao’s nose.
"You can’t eat noodles through your nose."
Mo Xingyao snapped back to reality from her autopilot mode. She looked down and saw the chopsticks in her hand, the noodles pointing directly at her nose. She quickly ate them in embarrassment.
"What are you thinking about, Sister Yaoyao?" Dream Butterfly asked.
She had been watching her good sister for a few minutes while Mo Xingyao was in autopilot mode. Seeing Mo Xingyao slowly move the noodles toward her nose had naturally made her curious.
"Oh... it’s nothing."
"Huh?" Dream Butterfly intoned, tilting her head in curiosity.
"It’s just... ummm... Hey, Yuyu, does it hurt?"
"Huh? What hurts?" Dream Butterfly tilted her head in confusion.
"That... it’s that... the..." Mo Xingyao stuttered, her face turning bright red beneath the soft spirit-lamp light. It was becoming increasingly obvious what had been occupying her mind.
"The? The what?" Dream Butterfly asked, still confused.
"C’mon! You know what I’m asking! You know! That thing!"
"What thing?"
Mo Xingyao’s face flushed red like a tomato, and she looked as though she were about to explode like a volcano.
"The... the thing... insertion..." At the end, her voice became so low that it was barely more than a whisper.
Dream Butterfly burst into laughter. She couldn’t hold it in anymore. She knew exactly what Mo Xingyao had been thinking about.
"You! You! You dare bully me?" Mo Xingyao was both embarrassed and angry. She immediately took revenge by squishing Dream Butterfly’s chest.
"Ah! Sister Yaoyao! Stop! Or else it might get bigger!" Dream Butterfly screamed.
Hearing this, instead of stopping, Mo Xingyao immediately doubled down. She treated Dream Butterfly’s chest like dough that she was kneading.
"You! You! I’ll see how much bigger you can get! Let it balloon like a mountain! I want to see how you’ll carry it around in your everyday life! Arrrgh! I’m so angry!"
Whap! Slap! Whap! Whap! Slap!
"Arrrgh! Hahaha! No, hahaha! Stop, stop, stop! Sister Yaoyao! I give up!" Dream Butterfly cried out while laughing.
After the two messed around for a moment, Dream Butterfly slowly got up and adjusted both her breathing and her clothes, which had started to come loose.
Then, a teasing smile appeared on her face. She leaned toward Mo Xingyao and whispered something to her. She then used the candle as a comparison, gesturing with her hands as though the candle were growing larger and indicating how thick and long it would be.
Then she giggled and ran out of the bridal chamber, having sensed that her husband had arrived.
"Im... impossible..." Mo Xingyao muttered. She then used the measurement Dream Butterfly had given her, bringing her hands toward her stomach as she tried to imagine the size.
"How was it going to..."
"Sorry, I’m late."
"Aaaahhhh!"
Wei Chen’s voice suddenly rang out, startling Mo Xingyao.
She immediately lost her balance and fell from the chair.
She then gave him a protesting glare.
"Ah, sorry, sorry. Are you thinking about something?"
Mo Xingyao didn’t answer. Instead, she slowly looked toward that particular part of Wei Chen...
Then she blushed and immediately turned her head away.
Seeing the cute reaction of his bride, Wei Chen smiled. He knew exactly what kind of thoughts were running through his bride’s mind.
He gently helped her up, and the two of them walked together toward the bed.
...
Outside the bridal chamber, Dream Butterfly walked out and took a stroll while looking at the moon and enjoying the cool night breeze.
She then headed toward the guest wing. As one of the wives of the estate lord, she felt that she should oversee the guests’ well-being and make sure they were enjoying their stay and had everything they needed.
As she walked along the path through the garden toward the guest wing, she noticed the Ximen father and son, Ximen Hong and Ximen Hao. They seemed to be discussing something while playing a game of chess.
Then, Ximen Hao suddenly turned toward Dream Butterfly.
"Your Highness?" Ximen Hao blurted out.
Dream Butterfly tilted her head in confusion.
"What did you just call me?" she asked.
Ximen Hao wanted to reply, but Ximen Hong gave his son a warning stare and shook his head before letting out a sigh.
"It’s nothing... Lady Dream Butterfly." Ximen Hong smiled.
But Dream Butterfly, having worked in the Immortal Dream Garden, knew when someone had something on their mind but chose not to reveal it.
Dream Butterfly smiled. Since the guests did not want to reveal anything, it was not her place to pry.
"Is there anything I can help you with, Patriarch Ximen?" she asked with the demeanor of a lord’s wife.
"Oh! We are perfectly satisfied with the arrangements, Lady Dream Butterfly. You don’t need to worry about us," Ximen Hong replied, smiling as if nothing had happened.
"If there’s nothing else, then I’ll excuse myself first. If there’s anything you need, please tell the servants, or you can come find me and I’ll help with the arrangements," Dream Butterfly said politely before excusing herself and walking out of the area.
After Dream Butterfly was out of sight and Ximen Hong could no longer sense her presence, he finally relaxed and glared at his son.
"What are you doing? If she finds out the truth, do you think she’ll let us off?" Ximen Hong admonished.
"I’m sorry, Father. It was dark, and for a brief moment, I thought I saw Her Highness. She looked so much like her..." Ximen Hao replied.
"Haaa... I know. If I had known she was still alive back then, I would have adopted her already. I wouldn’t have let her work in a place like that." Ximen Hong shook his head in resignation. "It’s the last thing we could do for Her Highness... alas..."
