How You Can Sue Me for My Crimes in Dreams

Chapter 344: Interrogation! The Mentally Deranged Third Person

Besides.

Why were they so convinced that the figure they saw was a ghost?

Xu Huo fell into deep thought.

A moment later, before he could find an answer, a voice rang out, interrupting his thoughts.

“We found him!”

In a flash, Li Jianye, who was on the phone, lit up and quickly looked at Xu Huo.

‘This is…’

‘They found someone alive!?’

“Of the remaining two, one is missing, but the other is alive!”

“The one who’s alive is in an extremely unstable mental state and is highly aggressive. But no matter what, he’s still alive, and the police have him under control!”

‘They found him…’

‘One survivor out of four!?’

Xu Huo’s expression grew serious.

“Bring him back to the station! Arrange an interrogation immediately!”

Li Jianye didn’t waste any time and started giving orders directly.

Then, he hurried down from the attic.

“You guys handle the body upstairs. Take it to the morgue for storage, and have the medical examiner run an autopsy. Get a toxicology report done, too.”

After giving his instructions, the two of them got in the car and sped off.

It was still a bit of a drive from there to the municipal bureau.

Li Jianye drove very fast, but it still took at least half an hour.

By the time they got back to the municipal bureau, it was already one-thirty in the afternoon.

“Where is he!?”

Li Jianye asked a Police Officer the moment he got out of the car.

“In the interrogation room.”

The two men hurried toward the interrogation room.

CREAK~

The iron door of the interrogation room was pushed open, revealing the scene inside.

The third person was named Shen Fei. He was eighteen and an orphan. Despite the significant age gap with the other two, they still managed to hang out together.

He was five-foot-nine and weighed… eighty-eight pounds.

He was so thin you could clearly see his protruding bones, a horrifying sight.

His hands were cuffed, and he was extremely tense. Hearing the door open, his panicked eyes instantly shot toward them.

Xu Huo frowned. ‘The guy’s condition…’

‘Even if he wasn’t sick before, he’d definitely be classified as sick now.’

“You’re Shen Fei, right? Do you know Wang Wei?”

Li Jianye glanced at Xu Huo, then began the interrogation, following standard procedure.

Looking somewhat dazed, Shen Fei nodded, though it was unclear if it was intentional or not.

“Have you ever had contact with anyone like a Hypnotist? Or have you seen a psychologist on your own?”

Shen Fei was silent for a long time. It took a while for his sluggish brain to process the question.

He shook his head.

‘No contact…’

‘No, something’s wrong with the way he’s answering.’

Xu Huo narrowed his eyes, staring at the young man’s clouded and bewildered gaze.

It was obvious he hadn’t really heard the question; shaking his head must have been a purely instinctual reaction.

“On December fourteenth, Wang Wei saw a figure at Misty Bar. Do you know who that was?”

Xu Huo cut straight to the point.

Hearing this, Shen Fei’s eyes twitched slightly.

Then, his gaze gradually filled with terror.

“A ghost!”

“There’s a ghost!!!”

“Let me go! All of you, let me go! I have to hide! It’s coming! If I don’t hide now, it’ll be too late!!!”

Suddenly, Shen Fei flew into a rage. His frail body erupted with immense strength as he struggled violently in the interrogation chair.

Shen Fei’s face was contorted in a horrifying grimace.

Already bone-thin, his features twisted so grotesquely that for a moment, it was hard to tell if the ghost was him or someone else.

“The ghost is coming?”

Xu Huo narrowed his eyes, staring at Shen Fei’s unfocused gaze.

Here’s a little-known fact.

The human eye cannot focus on something that doesn’t exist.

Even when you look at outer space, you’re focusing on the blackness as a target. But you can’t focus on something like a hallucination.

That doesn’t mean you can’t *see* the hallucination!

At that moment, Shen Fei looked around in terror, his ghastly face beginning to tremble.

“Is the ghost here?”

Xu Huo asked softly.

“It’s here, it’s here… Quick, let me go!”

Shen Fei shivered, his voice trembling. “Let me go, quick, let me go! It’s going to kill me! It’s definitely going to kill me!”

‘The ghost is here?’

‘The ghost came to the municipal police bureau?’

Xu Huo narrowed his eyes. “Where… is the ghost right now?”

Shen Fei froze.

He raised his cuffed hands and slowly pointed to the space right beside Xu Huo.

“It’s…”

“…pressed up against your back.”

In an instant, the atmosphere in the interrogation room became incredibly stiff and cold.

Everyone felt a chill run down their spines.

Li Jianye instinctively twisted his head to look behind Xu Huo, his eye twitching.

There was…

…nothing there.

But from Shen Fei’s expression, it was as if something really was clinging to Xu Huo’s back.

Xu Huo remained unfazed. With a blank expression, he watched the mentally unstable and highly suggestible Shen Fei before him.

His lips parted as he posed his final questions.

“How do you know it’s here to kill you?”

“And…”

Staring into Shen Fei’s eyes, Xu Huo’s gaze became incredibly sharp.

‘Would you think a random passerby on the street is going to kill you?’

‘No. And you wouldn’t think a random passerby is a ghost, either.’

‘Everything comes down to cause and effect!’

“You know it?”

“Who is *he*!?”
