Chapter 186: Chap.183 - Solution or Problem?

Monster Vitamin.

The effect of this substance is basically to transform the drinker into their strongest version. Hidden genes are recombined to create the best version of oneself, geared towards combat and absolute power. How much stronger the creature becomes depends on its own genes.

The Adventure Book clearly warned that drinking this stuff would turn him into a monster, but what if... what if he drank it in his 'animagus' form?

First he uses the potion to transform himself into an anaconda, then he adds the parts he wants, it doesn't even need to be perfect, the potion will do the rest.

Finally, if what he thinks is true, his human form wouldn't change, but his animagus form would perfectly merge the characteristics he added and go even further, plus there was a great chance that the spirit of the transformed creature would be influenced to adapt to the new body.

In other words, he wouldn't even need to adapt on his own, the monster vitamin would do all the work for him. He also wouldn't need to change his current Animagus ritual. All he had to do was transform into an Animagus and slowly change all the parts he needed to. Even if there was rejection, it didn't matter, he just needed to stay alive long enough to drink the monster vitamin and wait for the effects to take hold.

The biggest challenge was something he was already working on, so once he had all the features he wanted, he just needed to try it in the Dragon's Dream to see if the monster vitamin would work!

No, he didn't even need to wait that long, after so much time, he could already create dragon scales, although not perfect, it was practically the same thing.

He didn't wait any longer, he first appeared atop the stormy mountain, transformed into an Animagus, an Anaconda, then used his Transmutation ability to begin changing his scales.

The anaconda's scales soon turned completely black, and when Rigel was satisfied with the process, he picked up the potion that was on the ground with his mouth and turned it over, letting the liquid run down his throat.

The next moment, pain.

Rigel almost felt he was destined to suffer in this life, because there was always pain.

A silent snake-like hiss sounded as Rigel writhed madly, his body soon beginning to change, his nearly 6-meter-tall figure rapidly growing as two protrusions appeared on his head, soon growing and darkening into two curved horns.

When it was all over, what remained on the grass was a huge 20-meter-long snake, completely black with red eyes.

Rigel ignored the persistent pain and slowly raised his head, if he could smile now, he would be smiling.

Opening his mouth, Rigel felt something there, the next moment, a jet of flame shot out of his open mouth, and Rigel's excitement grew enormously.

He didn't even need to create the specific organ for dragon fire, instead, he was created on his own using dragon genes.

Rigel also discovered that he was right, spitting flames was completely instinctive.

The next moment, he tried to return to human form, if his human form was still normal, then that could be considered a success.

The result was... he did it! As easy as normal Animagus regression, he managed to return to human form with impressive ease! When he tried to return to Animagus form, he clearly reverted to that draconic snake.

However, his joy was short-lived, as while conducting more tests, shifting back and forth into Animagus form, Rigel realized something was wrong.

When he returned to human form, he could occasionally feel that second internal heartbeat, and he also realized that his mood was off.

A growing irritation rose in his mind, and he even felt like going out and punching Ron or Snape in the face.

Rigel didn't think twice and woke up from the dragon dream, returning soon after.

The effect was evident, that persistent irritation disappeared quickly, but this did not cheer Rigel up in the slightest.

He began to ponder something: why did the ancient wizards create magic to transform into ordinary animals? Did they lack the ability to create a magical animal transformation? Or was there some flaw in the magical animal transformation from the beginning?

An ordinary animal has an ordinary spirit, compared to the spirit of a wizard, it's simply laughable.

However, a magical animal might have an even stronger spirit than a wizard, even if it isn't, the spirit would still be strong enough to influence the wizard, or even take control, right?

This was problematic, very problematic. Rigel had just discovered a gold mine and all he could do was look at it!

Sure, the choice of dragon genes wasn't the best, after all dragons have never had a good temperament, but that was also good because it was easy for Rigel to notice the change within him.

If he tried to use the unicorn gene, wouldn't he end up as a saintly mother?

Rigel felt a little more respect for the wizards of the past, without the dragon dream, if he had had that idea from the outside, he didn't know if he could have controlled himself and not tried it, in which case there would have been no turning back.

After all, the others couldn't die and be reborn again and again, making mistakes while searching for the right path like he did.

With a heavy sigh, Rigel was back to square one again.

Rigel couldn't simply exclude the spirit created by the Animagus transformation from the equation, if he did, the target of the transformation would have been himself, so not only would he still suffer from the mentality of the magical creatures he merged with, but he probably wouldn't even be able to easily return to human form.

Without the spirit to act as an intermediary, the potion's target would be Rigel's own spirit, even if he managed to return to human form, his spirit would still be an amalgam of everything he had fused into himself.

The simplest solution to this was simply to make his spirit stronger, so strong that no matter how strong the Animagus spirit became after ingesting the monster vitamin, Rigel himself would not be affected, or at least the effect on him would be extremely low.

Rigel planned to acquire the genes of the most powerful creatures in this world, such as the phoenix's teleportation, healing, and rebirth abilities, the Demiguise's invisibility and vision of the future, the Occamy's ability to grow and shrink...

However, now he couldn't even bear the fusion with a magical creature, how many problems would there be if he fused even further?

In other words, without strengthening his spirit or finding another solution, Rigel was stuck again.
