Third Person POV

Train.

...

...

"Wait, he also said something about awakening a magical ability!?" Roberta spoke again.

Turning to look at Severus with curiosity regarding his transformation, especially the fact that his eyes had changed. Now she understood why Iris had been talking only about him when they met at the station before boarding the train.

She still remembered very well the grimace she had made immediately after learning they were looking for Snape, recommending that Iris stay away from the gloomy boy, but Iris didn't care, saying she had met him during the holidays and confirming that he had changed.

Changed far too much. He seems a little arrogant, but he also seems open to conversation and speaks whenever necessary.

He had simply transformed into another person. Now Roberta understood why Iris was so excited, to the point of even exchanging letters with him, despite not giving many details, almost as if she were talking about a boyfriend.

Severus raised his head toward her. He decided to give a demonstration while taking a seed from his ring.

"I can move things like Heloisa said, but I can also do this..." He lifted the seed between his fingertips while it began to squirm, creating a small sprout growing from it.

"I now have abilities with natural powers, I call it nature magic, because it's a little different from druid abilities," he replied with an analytical yet resolute look.

All three girls were amazed by that the moment he did it, and none of them said anything for the next few seconds, simply trying to process what they had just seen.

He hadn't even used a wand or anything. The sprout grew until it was about three centimeters tall, creating roots and several leaves.

"Incredible! Can you do that too?" Heloísa started clapping excitedly.

Iris also had a gaze full of sparkle directed at Severus, watching him with admiration.

"Wait... can you tell us what else you can do?" Roberta asked, still staring at the sprout.

"He can make things float and he can also create flames, he can make a fire dragon, I saw it!!" Heloísa said, setting Iris's grandfather's book aside, though still holding it in a hug while looking at Severus, who seemed oblivious to the fact they were talking about him.

"So you can do more things besides talking to dragons?" Iris immediately raised her voice.

The three looked at each other at the same time, wondering if they had heard correctly.

All of them had seen Severus create a plant, one of them said he made objects levitate and created flames, while the third was still saying he talked to dragons?

"I'm not going to keep explaining these things," Severus simply replied, lifting his book and beginning to read, ignoring all the questioning looks directed at him. This was already too much.

In the end, they merely looked at each other. Severus paid no more attention to them, and each of them shared what they knew about Severus, while he continued completely ignoring the conversation, even though he was the main topic.

"Wait... this is Muggle theory? My older brother already studied about this in the physics college course he attends..." Roberta read the title of the book for the first time when she became curious about what Severus was reading there among them, becoming surprised by it.

"It's a good read. If you want to know, Muggle knowledge is also very welcome," Severus replied confidently without taking his eyes off the book, occasionally turning the pages.

"Really? I thought you and your friends hated anything that came from Muggles," Roberta couldn't help but mutter.

"Roberta..." Iris noticed the implication and called out her friend.

"It's fine. Look, don't worry. I don't intend to become a Death Eater, if you want to know. I have no interest in following that weird guy called Voldemort." Severus spoke, already hearing the older girls sigh upon hearing the Dark Lord's name pronounced so casually by Severus. "... You could say I'll be cutting ties with those people from my house..." he simply said.

After calming down a little from Severus's courage in speaking about Voldemort so casually, Roberta began to feel surprised. Still somewhat suspicious, she started to believe that the boy had become more than just a complete change, something beyond that.

Certainly, hearing about Severus's abilities from the girl and from Iris, as disturbing as it was, made her no longer see that same gloomy boy, but rather as if she were standing before the reincarnation of Merlin.

"What's it like talking to dragons? You didn't tell me that before!" Heloísa asked Severus directly, who hadn't said anything about the conversations and exchanges of information they had been having about him, as if it were some great gossip.

"Well... I don't know. I can simply talk to them and they listen to me," Severus replied with a shrug, as if it weren't something very important.

"You're joking?! It was incredible! You showed me that dragon over there! I even asked Dad to print the picture he took, I'm going to put it in a frame!!" Iris pulled a photo from her bag and showed it to Roberta.

In it, the two of them were beside a dragon. Iris was standing, touching its snout with a smile, while Severus was on the other side, his back resting against the dragon's head as if he were relaxing.

He didn't seem very interested in the picture, merely maintaining a calm expression.

"Incredible! You were really standing next to a dragon!" Roberta said to Iris, knowing very well her friend's dream and how much she loved magical creatures, especially dragons. This was certainly a dream coming true for her.

"Yes, thanks to Severus!" Iris replied with a smile, looking at Severus.

"Let me see!" Heloísa said while grabbing the photo as well, marveling at the image of that enormous dragon whose mouth was so large it could eat all of them with a single bite.

Even so, they seemed completely calm beside it. Severus, overcome by curiosity, also took his attention away from the book and looked at the photo in Heloísa's hand, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm in this photo too? I thought it would only be you." Severus turned his head while Iris smiled at him.

"Of course you are. Why wouldn't you be? After all, we're friends," she said irritably at him even considering that.

"We are?" Severus gave a charming smile.

"Of course we are!" she replied, although the irritation had vanished from her face while she displayed a certain shyness.

Roberta, beside them, couldn't stop staring at her friend with her mouth open.

'Wait... didn't they only meet once? Why is she blushing all over? I mean, he became quite handsome, but it shouldn't work like this! She's engaged...' Roberta began muttering internally. She knew everything about her best friend.

"Ah! I brought something for you," Iris suddenly said.

Severus's smile faded and he raised an eyebrow as he watched her take something out of her bag. She pulled out a package.

Iris opened the package and showed a green and white scarf with the Slytherin symbol on it.

"I made it for you," she said. "I sewed it myself!" Iris offered the scarf to Severus.

Heloísa and Roberta looked stunned. Severus closed the book and took the scarf, looking at it spread open in front of him while touching the fabric.

'It seems the human female wants to mate with you,' Articuno said.

Severus almost grunted upon hearing that.

"Is something wrong?" Iris looked worried by the grimace Severus made, seeming as though he hadn't liked it.

'Can you stop saying those things?' Severus grumbled to Articuno in his thoughts, bothered by his strange words.

'What? I'm not lying,' he simply replied.

Severus gave up on responding to him and turned his attention back to Iris with a pleasant smile.

"That's not it, it turned out really well," Severus said while putting the scarf around his neck, deliberately to annoy Articuno, who started screaming in his mind after nearly being knocked down.

Even the sound of wings could be heard, with the three girls noticing it but not recognizing where it came from, until Articuno landed once again on Severus's shoulder.

"It looks really good. Thank you," Severus thanked her while Iris nodded.

"Yes, it looks very nice on you," she said satisfied.

"Well, unfortunately I don't have anything I can give you in return," Severus commented.

He could give her some experimental crystals while trying to create luminous crystals, but that wouldn't be appropriate.

"Well, how about, as a gift, you show me a little of those dragon-shaped flames Heloísa said she saw you making in the Diagon Alley bookstore? I'd really love to see that too!" Iris said enthusiastically.

The other two girls also immediately tilted their heads curiously.

"I can do that, but I think you should first deal with those students over there," Severus pointed toward the door.

At least three or four heads were peeking through the door window, wearing Hufflepuff robes and looking at Iris and Roberta.

All three of the others turned their heads toward the door as it opened.

"Iris? Roberta? How are you?" asked the seventh-year student with a friendly smile.

"We're fine, Leon," Iris replied with a friendly smile, although she seemed slightly dissatisfied with the interruption.

Her somewhat vague response left them bewildered, since neither Iris nor Roberta seemed interested in making conversation.

So Leon had to continue, after glancing at Severus and the first-year girl.

"We're all gathered near the end of the train. The Gryffindors brought several boxes of explosive snacks. I wanted to know if you'd like to join us, since we've been looking for you all over the train. Even in the Slytherin compartments," Leon said.

Roberta looked at Iris, who immediately shook her head.

"No, thanks, Leon. We're fine here. We don't intend to leave this compartment," she said.

The Hufflepuff students seemed a little disappointed by that. Leon nodded despite his reluctance, before casting one last glance mainly at Severus, then turning back to the girls.

"All right. Well, we'll talk at school then..." he said.

The other students also studied Iris and Roberta, in addition to the two strangers.

"Who is he? He's handsome..." the girls in the group couldn't help but whisper.

"Could Iris...? But she's engaged..."

"Well, I've never seen him at school. I would've remembered if I had. Who is he?"

"A new student, maybe?"

The murmurs began among the Hufflepuff girls as they spoke among themselves. Iris merely gave an amused smile when the door closed and they finally returned to the back of the train.

"Sorry about that," Iris replied, slightly embarrassed.

"It's fine," Severus said with a shrug.

"You're pretty popular," Heloísa couldn't help but comment, giving Iris an enthusiastic look while she returned it with a proud smile.

"Thank you. And which house are you planning to join?" Iris asked.

Heloísa merely shook her head. "I still don't know."

"I said Hufflepuff house would be very good for her," Severus commented beside them while looking out the window.

"I think so too! You'd be very welcome, and I'd take care of you!" Iris said with her chest puffed out.

"Thank you... I think..." Heloísa replied quietly. But I still can't really say much yet...

Roberta was the one who spoke again:

"Wait, wait! He was going to show the dragon, wasn't he? Now even I want to see it!" She was far too curious.

Even she was enthusiastic about the idea. Severus nodded.

He raised his hand while flames began to emerge, surprising all three girls. The flames started to take shape, but Severus didn't make a dragon this time.

He created a phoenix made of pure fire. It cried out with its characteristic sound, and the creature immediately spread its wings and began flying through the compartment, leaving tiny embers behind, but nothing that could hurt or burn.

"Incredible!" Heloísa started clapping.

Even Roberta and Iris were watching the spectacle of flames in fascination.

Meanwhile, Severus merely maintained mental control over the flames, making them keep their shape and fly around the place with great ease.

'They only say that because they haven't seen me yet,' Articuno suddenly said.

'Then why don't you show yourself?' Severus shrugged.

There was no way to hide Articuno forever. Naturally, he would be discovered at Hogwarts, since he would live beside Severus all the time, especially because Articuno didn't seem to want to go anywhere else.

'Very well then.'

The girls were still paying attention to the phoenix flying when Articuno materialized after losing his invisibility.

They watched the flaming phoenix pass by him before Articuno spat out ice, causing the flames to simply extinguish.

Everyone looked surprised before stopping their eyes on a blue animal with an enormous tail and three feathers forming almost a hairstyle on its head, perched on Severus's shoulder while Articuno puffed out his chest for everyone to see.

Everyone even stopped breathing while staring at the bird that hadn't been there at any moment before.

Meanwhile, Severus merely displayed a smile and looked toward the window. But before anyone could speak, the door opened once again.

This time, it was a Gryffindor prefect and someone Severus knew well: Remus Lupin.

He looked at the two final-year Hufflepuffs, the two people he didn't know, the first-year girl, and the older boy he had never seen before.

Then his eyes stopped on the bird.

If he was going to say something or ask anything, he stopped when he saw the Slytherin scarf around Severus's neck.

He realized everything was fine and, despite the strange animal he had never seen before, thought it must simply be a trained bird, one from the non-magical world. Some tropical countries tended to have animals with strong coloration.

As beautiful as he thought it was, he needed to continue his patrol. However, he paused when the Slytherin boy stared at him, those green eyes meeting his own, and he felt somewhat uncomfortable. It was as if those green eyes were seeing through him.

'Werewolf...'

He immediately thought that the strange student already knew what he was with just one look, as if he had been studying him... Wait, he had already felt that gaze before... In Diagon Alley... And this young man couldn't be that unfamiliar to him.

However, Lupin merely nodded and closed the door. He wanted to leave there as quickly as possible because he didn't feel good under that gaze, whoever that student was.

The moment the compartment was once again occupied by only the four of them and the bird, everyone immediately began exclaiming and shouting questions about what that animal was.

Severus merely sighed while Articuno seemed to greatly enjoy the attention he was receiving at that moment.
