Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Severus passed by several groups of students, each heading to their respective classes, until he finally arrived at Ravenclaw Tower and, later, Professor Flitwick's classroom after climbing a few staircases.

He entered to find some students already in their seats, mostly Ravenclaw students, the majority of whom had arrived early. Of course, they wouldn't miss class.

As Severus stepped inside, he ignored a few curious glances directed at him, moved to one of the corners, and remained there where he would be bothered the least. He opened a book and began ignoring all the activity around him.

"Hello, everyone!" Severus looked up when class finally began. Until then, he had remained oblivious to everything around him.

Professor Flitwick was standing on a chair, his wand raised.

"Welcome!" the professor repeated with an enthusiastic smile. "We are here to begin your sixth year. I am happy to have you all here with us once again." He said this while looking at the Slytherins and Ravenclaws.

"These are the two houses that produce the most prodigies," he said excitedly.

It wasn't exactly a lie. Although Gryffindor had people like Marlene McKinnon and Lily Evans, who were truly talented in Charms, overall, Slytherin and Ravenclaw usually produced the greatest number of gifted students.

Severus couldn't help but glance at his housemates. There they were, among others, Mulciber and Avery, which came as no surprise.

None of them approached him. In fact, he was practically being isolated in a corner, and no one seemed willing to come near him.

The reason was quite obvious. Slytherin politics were clear, and Severus was confronting those who were supposed to be the leaders of the house. No one wanted to associate with him at that moment and draw the attention of Lestrange, Rosier, and the others.

Severus merely gave a faint smile at the situation. He didn't care much.

Returning to his train of thought, the greatest prodigies really did tend to emerge from Slytherin, but that shouldn't be a monopoly.

Even so, the result of children who were born into powerful families, had been exposed to magic from an early age, and grew up surrounded by resources and guidance was, in a way, disappointing. After all, very few true prodigies came from there.

They seemed more concerned with flaunting their blood status than proving their own worth.

Severus considered that lazy and repulsive. In a way, they weren't even truly concerned about the power Muggles possessed. They had no idea what existed beyond the wizarding world. They were arrogant and blind...

They simply believed they were above everyone else, that they had the right to rule over them and even exterminate them. Which, to Severus, was an extremely foolish view.

But that didn't matter at the moment. In any case, he continued listening to Professor Flitwick's speech. The small professor remained focused on the subject as he began explaining what he expected from the students that year.

"Well, let's begin. First, open to page forty-eight. I'll leave it to you to write a summary of the first chapters of the book later," Flitwick announced.

An immediate chorus of discouragement spread through the classroom, mainly among the Slytherin students, who were not at all enthusiastic about the idea of writing that kind of assignment.

"Come on, come on. Open to page forty-eight." He said as he began showing some variations of the Wingardium Leviosa spell, things they had never learned before.

There were several different ways to use the levitation spell. Severus merely watched, reading the descriptions of the spells.

He had not paid much attention to the sixth-year curriculum yet. He had not even analyzed many of the assigned books, aside from the Potions textbook, which he had studied during the holidays whenever he had free time.

Severus did not find it particularly interesting. He could accomplish all of that using telekinesis. Even so, he followed the lesson's scope so as not to disrupt the professor.

Flitwick then gave a demonstration. He picked up several tennis balls and placed one on each student's desk with a simple spell.

"I want you to use the Wingardium Leviosa spell and then activate the second command with the intention of making the ball bounce on the desk. Descending," he said.

The professor then gave a demonstration for everyone after making the ball levitate. "Move your wand like this and say, Descending!" He made the motion, and the ball bounced on the floor before rolling off somewhere in the classroom.

All the students imitated the professor's movement to perform the Descending spell and then began levitating the balls.

Without exception, everyone could perform the first spell. It would have been a great embarrassment for a sixth-year student not to be able to cast it. It was a first-year spell.

However, they began showing difficulty with the words described in the book. Descending proved somewhat challenging for them.

The balls continued floating without responding to the second command, and Professor Flitwick seemed amused by it.

"Miss Rolda, you need to make a firm second movement with your wand at the end." He pointed out.

"Mr. Mulciber, you're being too rigid with your wand. Be more flexible." He continued guiding the students.

Severus had not even touched his wand yet. He had not imitated the professor earlier, but he made his move then. "Wingardium Leviosa," he murmured softly without drawing his wand.

The tennis ball began to levitate smoothly.

"Descending."

The ball immediately began bouncing across the desk, and that was enough to draw the professor's attention.

Flitwick's eyes widened when he saw what Severus had done. "Was that wandless magic, Mr. Snape?" he asked in shock.

Severus raised an eyebrow. For a moment, he thought the professor might possess an ability similar to Dumbledore's for noticing that sort of detail.

But he found it unlikely. Perhaps someone had told him, and indeed someone had. Professor McGonagall had met with Flitwick regarding Severus that morning and had seen him performing wandless magic while speaking with other students.

She had also commented to Flitwick that Severus seemed very different, both in appearance and behavior. Now, Flitwick was observing him with great interest.

The small professor couldn't help but display a smile as he looked at Severus. The boy's hands remained relaxed at his sides.

And the rest of the class also stopped trying to perform Descending, staring toward that side of the room.

"You're without a wand? Which means you cast the spell without using a wand, Mr. Snape?" He smiled as everyone now looked at Severus with shocked expressions as they finally understood.

Especially the Ravenclaw students, who had not recognized him immediately, which was quite understandable.

Many of them had been wondering who that student sitting isolated in a corner was. So they were even more surprised when they discovered it was Severus Snape.

The Slytherins also raised their heads to observe him.

"Yes, Professor," he replied calmly.

The ball had already fallen from his desk, and Severus used another spell to make it float back into his hand.

Without words and without a wand.

"You're performing wandless and non-verbal magic, Mr. Snape?" Flitwick asked, almost unable to believe it.

Severus looked at him and shrugged. "Something like that." That was all he replied, ignoring all the gazes directed at him.

"By Merlin's beard! Ten points to Slytherin for being the first to perform the Descending spell perfectly. And another twenty points for the demonstration of wandless and non-verbal magic." Flitwick seemed genuinely excited.

"Do you have any idea how unbelievable that is?" he asked Severus.

In his past life, Severus used wandless and non-verbal magic frequently. Therefore, most simple spells were easy to perform with sufficient concentration alone.

He only needed a wand for truly powerful and complex spells. There were also some specific enchantments that still required spoken words, although there were few of them.

Professor Flitwick continued looking at Severus with great excitement, as if he were standing before a new prodigy. Whatever it was that had happened to him.

"I suppose almost no one can do that, but with some practice, it's possible..." Severus offered as his excuse.

"You're mistaken. Most people who dedicate themselves to it spend the rest of their lives trying and remain incapable... But in any case, congratulations on your talent. Now let's continue the lesson." The professor said, clapping his hands.

Severus merely yawned, set the ball aside, and opened the book back to its opening pages. Since he would need to write the essay later, he might as well start preparing now.

He completely ignored all the attention he was receiving. Despite everyone's attempts to focus elsewhere, they kept turning their heads toward him.

Meanwhile, the professor continued assisting the other students. As time passed, the first few began performing the spell correctly, although no one received more than five points.

Only Severus had come away from that activity with thirty points. Not that he cared. He wasn't concerned with accumulating house points.

Even so, he remained there, receiving a mixture of admiration, jealousy, anger, curiosity, and even suspicion from his classmates.

In any case, the professor returned to his chair and then stood up again. "Well, I believe that's enough for today. Some of you still haven't managed to complete the exercise, but I ask that you keep practicing. This technique will be used in an assessment within a few weeks. Please maintain good progress." He said as the students began putting away their materials.

Severus did not leave immediately. He waited for the classroom to empty.

A few Ravenclaw girls also remained for a few moments longer, taking the opportunity to speak with the professor.

Severus simply waited. He wanted to talk about a few things and still had time before the ten o'clock class.

When the girls finally left, they couldn't help but cast a few curious glances at him. Only then did Severus approach Professor Flitwick.

"Mr. Snape, I must admit that you're quite impressive." Flitwick said.

Severus displayed a small smile. "It's been some time, Professor. Thank you for the compliments. But I'd like to speak with you about a spell I'm interested in."

"Oh? And which spell would that be?"

"A spell that I believe we'll study this year and attempt to master more thoroughly next year: the Patronus Charm." Severus replied, remembering how interested he had become in the spell's description in the book he had read that morning.

From the illustrations and explanations, he had discovered that it was a spell capable of transmitting messages at extremely high speeds and even reproducing the caster's voice. It was certainly far more efficient than an owl.

Not to mention its power to repel Dementors. It was an extremely difficult spell to perform. And that was precisely why Severus was so interested in it.

Flitwick stared at him for a few seconds, seeming surprised, before breaking into a smile. "Few students can perform it. In fact, it's even a requirement for those who wish to pursue a career as an Auror." The professor said.

Severus nodded. "I'm very interested in learning it. Could you teach me or at least give me a demonstration? An explanation is enough. I only need a demonstration, nothing more."

Upon hearing that, Flitwick became even more excited. A student interested in learning advanced spells?

How could he refuse? Especially when the subject was the Patronus.

"Of course. The Patronus requires you to draw upon a happy memory. But not just any memory. It needs to be something that truly moves you, something from which you can extract enough happiness to manifest it through your soul in the form of an animal."

"Does the form of the Patronus describe the size of the soul?" Severus asked curiously.

Flitwick nodded. "In a way, yes. Just like Professor Dumbledore, who manifests a phoenix, a magical creature. Few wizards in the world can display Patronuses in the form of magical creatures." He explained.

Severus seemed even more interested. "Please, demonstrate it for me," he requested.

"Certainly." Flitwick nodded.

Then he raised his wand. "Expecto Patronum!" The instant he pronounced the incantation, a powerful light burst from the tip of his wand, illuminating the entire classroom.

A huge white eagle appeared and began flying around the room in a completely corporeal form.

Severus watched the creature. It was truly impressive.

"It's very beautiful, Professor," he couldn't help but comment as he watched the eagle.

At that moment, the second-year students who had class at ten o'clock began entering the room.

As soon as they stepped through the door, they found Professor Flitwick, Severus, and the eagle flying around the classroom.

"I know. I couldn't ask for any animal other than the symbol of Ravenclaw itself, Mr. Snape," Flitwick replied proudly.

Severus then picked up his wand.

The professor dismissed the Patronus and turned his attention to him. "You're going to try it, Mr. Snape?" he asked.

"Yes," Severus replied.

He had already memorized the exact words of the incantation.

The two completely ignored the students who continued entering the classroom. Everyone watched with curiosity as they looked at the professor and the older Slytherin student.

Then Severus raised his wand. For Severus, happy emotions were not difficult to find. He had experienced sad moments. His childhood, in the other world, had been horrible in some ways. His life had also been marked by battles.

But he had the happiness of having people who loved him. Of holding his newborn children in his arms each time they were born... Of watching each of those babies beside his wives.

As well as the affection of his older children calling out to him. Or even his wives warming their nights together.

"Expecto Patronum!" he exclaimed with his wand raised.

The next instant, an explosion of light filled the room. The intensity was so great that some of the children actually cried out in surprise.

Even Professor Flitwick was shocked by the power released by someone attempting to conjure a Patronus for the first time.

The light continued shining. "It's taking shape!" Flitwick exclaimed, looking ahead.

Something really was beginning to emerge. Severus also shifted his wand slightly to observe better as a large figure began to take form.

But before it could fully materialize, he sensed that the spell was still unstable. The shape began to fall apart.

The glow gradually weakened. Then Severus canceled the spell, lowering his wand.

Flitwick remained looking alternately at the place where the form had appeared and at the young Slytherin.

"Most wizards can't produce a Patronus, Mr. Snape. But you managed to cast it, even if it wasn't perfect on your first attempt. I've never seen anything like it." The professor paused.

"Unless you lied to me when you said you'd never cast this spell before."

"I never did, Professor. The first time I came into contact with the Patronus was through a book on Light Magic that I read this morning before coming to class. I had heard of it before, but I was never particularly interested in it." Severus explained.

Flitwick nodded, believing him. "Well, I'll give you another twenty points for your excellent demonstration." The professor smiled.

"From what you've shown, you only need to adapt to the spell better. Perhaps use a different memory or strengthen the one you used to cast it," Flitwick said.

Severus nodded. "Thank you, Professor."

He thanked him while adjusting his bag. He was already late.

"It was nothing, Mr. Snape. And if you need anything at all, I would be delighted to help you. You're showing far more potential than you ever did before." The professor said sincerely.

Severus merely nodded. "Thank you, Professor. We'll see each other in the next classes."

With those words, he left the classroom. He ignored the students who were already gossiping about him and the spell he had just attempted to perform.

After all, they were only second-year Gryffindor and Hufflepuff students. They would certainly be asking the professor about the Patronus after witnessing that.

Severus headed directly to the dungeons. By the time he arrived, class was already beginning.

He entered discreetly under a Disillusionment Charm. Choosing one of the last tables in the room, where no one would bother him, he sat down alone.

He used to sit with Evans before their falling out. Now she was there, seated with her group of friends. Not that he could complain about that.

In fact, it was merely a curious mental observation before he turned his attention back to the board and opened his Potions textbook.

Meanwhile, the students had already begun swarming the professor's desk, where all the necessary ingredients were laid out.

Discreetly, Severus began using telekinesis. He took each of the ingredients listed on the board and made them float without anyone noticing, guiding them around the room until they reached his table.

Soon he had piled everything beside him. It was a recipe he already knew very well and had even improved during the holidays.

Because of that, he wasn't particularly concerned with that part of the activity. "Let's see what I can do," Severus thought as he opened a book on Muggle mechanics.

He knew this class would be far more productive if he devoted his attention to that while allowing his telekinesis to work on the potion.
