Chapter 1214 - 99: Mutual Slaughter! Velen’s Madness
Chapter 1214: Chapter 99: Mutual Slaughter! Velen’s Madness
The timeline for the Spider Queen War is still too short.
Rose suddenly went silent, then awakened a year later, leaving very little room for Duncan to maneuver, and there wasn’t enough time to lay any plans.
Moreover, Spider Queen Rose doesn’t only have followers in the realm of Ferren; she has other primary material planes, which means no matter how Duncan intervenes, it won’t affect the big picture of Spider Queen Rose’s ascension, unless he can simultaneously infiltrate all primary material planes with Zor Elves.
But that’s impossible to achieve.
That’s the advantage of cross-planar divine spirits: You knock out one of Their bases, but They have many other bases in different worlds.
And so, the gods of Ferren keep playing in their small patch of land.
Many powerful pantheons have turned their gaze to the heavens beyond the crystal wall system.
The demon avatar calming Spider Queen Rose is not an easy task, especially after her ascension; even the avatar’s true form wouldn’t dare approach her.
Mighty divine power.
She controls life and death, can manipulate reality and space, and can even initiate a heavenly god descending; Duncan’s demon avatar cannot face her head-on for now.
Fortunately, his gift finally eased some of Spider Queen Rose’s anger.
Duncan offered a proposal the Spider Queen couldn’t refuse.
Help her become the only god of the Zor Elves!
Nowadays, the Zor Elf pantheon is practically disintegrating, the Ancient Eye, the God of Slimes - Guannade, has been gradually excluded from Zor society, and Gloomy Maiden, with a small group of good-hearted Zor Elves, has fled to the surface world, essentially liberating herself from the Dark Realm’s system.
Only Velen, the god of theft for Zor Elves, remains struggling, and now he’s sold by Duncan.
Rose’s obstacle to becoming the sole racial god is only her pair of children.
"Oh?"
"So, you’re betraying me deliberately and getting closer to Velen?" Fate Weaver - Rose smirked teasingly.
She looked at the smooth-talking demon in front of her, feeling His grasp of the Dark Monarch’s laws was growing deeper.
"Naturally."
The demon avatar’s expression remained unchanged, and he said nonchalantly, "If I don’t attack your divine country, how can I gain Ocus’ trust?"
"If I don’t help Velen, how can I earn his trust?"
Spider Queen Rose smiled without speaking.
She still doesn’t trust the demon in front of her, no matter how intimately connected they once were, but he didn’t hold back when stabbing her in the back; however, if it were her, she’d backstab even more ruthlessly and coldly.
Rose even somewhat admired the demon in front of her, but felt He actually resembled a devil more.
Yet the Dark Monarch is indeed the Abyss Giant most like a devil.
"Do you really have a way to deceive Velen out of the divine country?" Spider Queen Rose remained extremely skeptical.
Divine Country.
It’s both protection and imprisonment.
Even mighty divine power finds it hard to easily breach a weak divine power’s divine country.
If Velen hides, Rose could sever His faith foundation in the real world and let him weaken bit by bit, but that would take hundreds of years; Rose doesn’t want to wait that long, she wants to become the sole god of Zor Elves now.
Duncan can’t wait that long either; the Church of the Bright Water Realm’s Goddess Alliance has already clashed with Dark Sun Shirek’s church.
He can’t afford to waste too much time on the Spider Queen.
Quickly kill a divine spirit.
Take something good.
Then happily backstab Spider Queen Rose once more; only this time, it’s about skill, the slow ones will eat leftovers.
Duncan is plotting more and more things, still needing to track down the God of the Hunt - Maha.
He has one chance to snatch the cake from Rose’s hands!
Once the backstabbing is complete with Rose, it’ll likely be a complete fallout for life, with no chance for collaboration again. But perhaps not, maybe Rose enjoys this backstabbing style.
"If I can’t lure Velen out."
"The Divine Queen can settle the account with me later." The demon avatar is as cunning as a devil at this moment.
Duncan has seventy percent confidence in success.
Firstly, Velen’s church has been severely damaged. After Spider Queen Rose awakened, her purge almost completely destroyed Velen’s church.
This means his faith foundation is pretty much done for.
Without faith, Velen is nothing.
He needs new faith, maybe even more divine positions for protection.
So who has them?
His good sister, Gloomy Maiden - Ilisthra.
Velen is just that contemptible.
He can’t fight his mother, his church got destroyed, losing his faith foundation in the real world, so he goes to rob his good sister, finding a weaker opponent to bully.
Finish off Ilisthra, preferably seize her moonfire, even her divine position, reestablishing a faith foundation on the surface.
Can’t beat the mother, but can’t beat you?
My good sister.
This is Velen, the trashiest collaborator Duncan has ever encountered, and backstabbing him comes with no guilt, almost impatiently.
From the moment Velen fled to the Shadow Plane, Duncan had sentenced him to death.
Too trashy.
Duncan fought for him for so long, even assisted Ilisthra in tearing apart Zor Society, yet Velen achieved nothing.
The two Abyss Giants joined forces to attack Deep Pit Demonet, pressing all the way to Spider Nest Mountain.
In over half a year, Velen failed to steal Spider Queen Rose’s divine power, couldn’t secure a divine position, nor dared directly enter Spider Nest Mountain.
