I Accidentally Built a Harem at the Beast Academy
Chapter 67: What Do You Call a Crossdressing Fish?
Jasper let out a long sigh that fluttered the tips of his long blue bangs.
He strolled at a leisurely pace down the manicured stone pathways of the campus gardens, the afternoon sun warming his pale skin. Trailing just a few steps behind him was a giggling, blushing gaggle of human women. They all had plain brown hair, ordinary brown eyes, and average heights.
It was his meticulously gathered army of Blairs.
He had spent a considerable amount of time collecting them, enduring their endless, mind-numbing chatter about classes, makeup, and cafeteria food. He had cast a wide net, desperately hoping one of these painfully average human girls would turn out to be the "Supreme" that he had overheard the human guy talking about in secret.
But as the days dragged on, it became glaringly obvious that he was very likely looking in the wrong place. These women were dull. They were boring. Jasper was losing interest in the whole thing real fast.
His mind kept wandering back to the dark, rainy woods.
He couldn’t stop thinking about the "mummy" he encountered. He remembered the terrified, beautiful face hidden beneath those bandages perfectly. She had been hilarious. The stiff-limbed, groaning mummy impression she had tried to pull off right had nearly made him die of laughter. And then, the sheer audacity she had to kick him right in the crotch and run away!
He hadn’t seen her around campus since. Jasper pouted slightly, kicking a small pebble off the path. He wondered if she hadn’t survived her injuries. They were pretty bad. It was such a pity. She seemed so incredibly fun; he wanted to be her friend.
"Jasper, do you want to get coffee later?" one of the plain-faced girls asked, batting her eyelashes at him.
"Maybe later, sweetheart," Jasper smiled brightly, flashing a charming wink that made the girl practically swoon into the rosebushes.
He needed a new plan. Gathering random humans wasn’t working. He needed to go straight to the source: the human guy from the library.
Jasper tapped his chin thoughtfully. The easiest route would be to just drag the guy into an alleyway and interrogate the identity of this Supreme person out of him. But Jasper quickly scrapped the idea. He possessed an extensive knowledge and collection of human spy movies. He knew exactly how covert operatives operated.
If he cornered the guy, the human would undoubtedly bite down on a cyanide pill hidden in a fake molar and foam at the mouth. Or worse, a red laser pointer would magically appear on the guy’s forehead, and a sniper on a nearby roof would assassinate him to protect the agency’s secrets!
Jasper shuddered. He couldn’t risk it. If the guy self-destructed, Jasper would lose his only lead on the Supreme entirely.
He needed a method that wouldn’t trigger the human’s spy assassination stuff. So, Jasper turned to his other area of expertise: human romance novels. Drawing on hundreds of trashy books, what he was going to have to do was crystal clear. A human male was at his absolute weakest, most loose-lipped state when he was thoroughly aroused while under the influence.
A wicked, delighted smirk spread across Jasper’s face.
An hour later, Jasper stood in front of his full-length mirror. He knew how to use his delicate, ethereal features. He wore a stunning, short blue dress that hugged his lithe frame perfectly, showcasing his long, pale legs. His vibrant blue hair cascaded freely down his back, intricately pinned with his signature sparkling diamonds and expensive pearls.
He looked like a breathtaking, wealthy noblewoman.
Jasper strutted out of his dorm and made a beeline for the human cafeteria. The moment he pushed the double doors open, the noisy chatter of the dining hall died instantly.
Forks clattered against plastic trays. Every single head in the room turned. The sheer presence of a glittering beastwoman stepping foot into the horrible human cafeteria brought the entire room to a dead, stunned halt.
Jasper ignored the gaping stares, his bright blue eyes scanning the cheap plastic tables. He spotted his target easily. The guy he overheard was sitting alone near the back, staring at him with his jaw practically resting on his tray.
With the elegance of a runway model, Jasper glided across the cafeteria. He pulled out the plastic chair right next to the guy and smoothly slid into the seat.
The human guy’s face instantly turned the color of a ripe tomato.
"H-Hi," the guy stuttered out, his eyes wide and panicked.
Jasper dialed the charm up to eleven. He tilted his head down, looking up through his lashes with a perfectly crafted, shy smile.
"Hi there," Jasper purred, making his voice soft and breathy. "I’ve seen you around campus. I think you’re really cute. I was wondering... would you want to meet me at the bar tonight? At seven?"
The guy gulped loudly. He was pulled into Jasper’s deep, mesmerizing ocean-blue eyes. His gaze flickered down, lingering on the diamond necklaces and the shiny pearls resting against Jasper’s collarbones. The guy’s expression shifted from pure shock to awe. He was sitting next to a wealthy, stunning Fish beastwoman who was actually hitting on him. He was certain he had just scored big time.
"So?" Jasper pressed softly.
He leaned in closer, his sweet, floral perfume washing over him, and gently rested a hand right on top of the guy’s thigh.
Jasper could hear the guy’s heart racing like a jackhammer against his ribs.
"Y-Yes!" the guy stuttered out breathlessly, nodding his head so fast it looked like it might snap off his neck. "Yes, I’ll be there!"
Jasper giggled. He stood up from the table, smoothing down the front of his short dress.
He looked back down at the flustered, spellbound human, gave him his most alluring wink, and smiled. "See you later, cutie."
Without looking back, Jasper turned and strutted out of the silent cafeteria, amused by how ridiculously easy humans were to manipulate.
