Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Pay Attention To Her Routine

The next morning, Qiao Meixia was fully dressed and ready to face the day. As usual, her internal clock had woken her up quite early.

When she walked past the dining room on her way out, the grand space was still completely empty. Butler Jun happened to spot her from the hallway and immediately called out to her with a respectful bow.

"Young Miss Meixia, your breakfast is ready for you." Butler Jun announced softly.

"Oh... It’s already prepared?" Qiao Meixia asked, tilting her head slightly.

"I made sure to take note of your usual schedule and instructed the kitchen to adjust the preparation time accordingly. From now on, you can come down to the dining room at this exact hour to enjoy a hot meal." Butler Jun explained attentively.

Qiao Meixia gave an appreciative nod and stepped into the quiet dining room. As soon as she took her seat, Butler Jun headed into the kitchen to fetch her meal. A few minutes later, he returned with a beautifully arranged tray and placed the fresh, hot breakfast dishes neatly in front of her.

"Thank you." Qiao Meixia said sincerely.

"Please enjoy your breakfast, Young Miss Meixia." Butler Jun bowed once more before quietly excusing himself from the room.

Qiao Meixia savoured her morning meal in blissful, unbroken peace.

Indeed, eating completely by herself was truly wonderful.

There was no need to walk on eggshells around anyone else, no drama to navigate, and she could simply take her time enjoying her food without having to engage in tiresome, fake conversations.

After finishing her breakfast, Qiao Meixia stood up from the table.

It was time to head to school, and she knew she should leave immediately. Otherwise, she would inevitably run into the other members of the Jiang family. She honestly had no desire to find out what kind of lecture Jiang Lukang and Feng Lan had prepared for her this morning.

Last night, Qiao Meixia had simply walked away while they were right in the middle of scolding her. If she stuck around now, they would almost certainly start nagging her all over again. She had zero interest in hearing any of it, so slipping out early was by far the best option.

Qiao Meixia picked up her school bag and walked out of the dining room.

Butler Jun was standing nearby in the main hallway and immediately noticed her approaching.

"Young Miss Meixia, are you heading off to school already?" Butler Jun asked respectfully.

"Hmm." Qiao Meixia nodded.

"Would you like me to arrange a personal driver for you?" Butler Jun offered.

Truth be told, he was still quite anxious about Qiao Meixia riding a high-powered superbike to school every day. Even though he knew she was exceptionally skilled at handling it, he could not help but feel that riding in a family car would be infinitely safer.

"No need. I can manage on my own." Qiao Meixia refused outright without a second thought.

"Are you planning to ride your superbike again?" Butler Jun confirmed.

"Hmm." Qiao Meixia nodded once more.

"In that case, please be extra careful on the road." Butler Jun reminded her with genuine concern.

"I understand." Qiao Meixia replied casually.

She walked out to the garage, swung her leg over her heavy superbike, and pulled on her helmet. Securing the strap, she hit the ignition, and the engine burst into life. She navigated down the estate’s main driveway, exiting the gates of the Jiang Family Residence and heading straight toward First Hannan High School.

The loud, thunderous roar of her engine immediately drew the attention of several household servants working nearby. They gathered together, whispering among themselves as they watched the sleek machine disappear down the road.

"Is that...?"

"Yeah, that’s her... The new young miss..."

"I heard the Master and Madam completely despise her."

"Well, of course they dislike her! Just look at the night-and-day difference between her and our real young miss!"

"You are not wrong about that. The contrast is huge."

"Mm... Young Miss Yanna is always so gentle, polite, and friendly toward everyone. Unlike this one, who has not spoken a single polite word or greeted us servants even once since she moved in."

"Alright, that’s enough gossip. Get back to work!"

One of the senior maids sternly cut them off before turning around to resume her chores. The rest of the servants quickly shut their mouths and scattered back to their duties.

...

At the exact same time, Jiang Suhan was also stepping out of the main house, preparing to leave for the office. He happened to catch a glimpse of Qiao Meixia’s superbike speeding away in the distance and shook his head with a faint smile.

"She really is attached to that superbike." Jiang Suhan remarked softly.

"Young Miss Meixia seems remarkably comfortable riding it. I tried to offer her a private driver just now, but she turned it down instantly." Butler Jun reported from beside him.

"That’s fine. At least she has something she genuinely enjoys." Jiang Suhan said easily before adjusting his suit jacket. "Anyway, I will be taking my leave now."

"Young Master Suhan, what about your breakfast?" Butler Jun asked hastily.

"Don’t worry about it. I will grab something on the way." Jiang Suhan said, stepping out into the courtyard and heading toward his car in the garage.

Butler Jun watched his young master drive away and let out a quiet, tired sigh. ’These two siblings are truly cut from the same cloth. Both stubbornly set on doing things entirely their own way.’

...

By the time Qiao Meixia pulled up to First Hannan High School, the entrance was already teeming with students arriving for morning classes. The very second her superbike roared through the front gates, dozens of heads turned in her direction.

Most of the student body had already come to recognise her solely because of that eye-catching ride.

Qiao Meixia smoothly parked her bike in the designated student parking lot, unbuckled her helmet, and set it aside. Stepping onto the main walkway, she made a direct beeline for the campus cake vending machine. To her satisfaction, the stock inside had clearly been replenished overnight.

Qiao Meixia stopped in front of the glass display, thoughtfully scanning the fresh selection of baked goods. Once she settled on her choices, she tapped her phone to process the mobile payment and hit the selection buttons.

Three neatly packaged slices dropped into the pickup tray. She pulled a lightweight tote bag from her backpack and carefully placed all three cakes inside.

Slinging her school bag over one shoulder and holding the bag of treats in her hand, she began walking toward her classroom building. Even though she had only been attending First Hannan High School for a short while, she was already becoming thoroughly familiar with the campus layout.

As she made her way down the second-floor corridor, a familiar voice suddenly called out from behind her.

"Meixia!"

Qiao Meixia halted her steps and turned around.

Shou Meiling, Ruan Jiaojiao, and Han Mengyu were jogging over to catch up with her. Almost instantly, their eyes dropped to the plastic bag resting in Qiao Meixia’s hand.

"Cakes again?" Ruan Jiaojiao asked, raising an eyebrow with a grin.

"Hmm." Qiao Meixia nodded plainly.

"That is so typical of you!" Shou Meiling chuckled warmly.

She had already noticed over the past few days that Qiao Meixia had developed a surprisingly serious obsession with the vending machine’s dessert menu.

"By the way, why didn’t you mention a single word to us about your family’s welcome banquet over the weekend?" Han Mengyu chimed in, pouting slightly. "If we had known about it, we definitely would have come to show our support!"

"There was really no need for that." Qiao Meixia said neutrally.

"See? What did I tell you guys?" Shou Meiling laughed again, nudging Han Mengyu. "Meixia obviously did not think it was anything worth making a fuss over."

"I also heard a rumour going around that you are actually Jiang Yanna’s biological twin sister." Ruan Jiaojiao added, her eyes wide with burning curiosity.

Qiao Meixia offered absolutely zero commentary on the matter. She simply looked at the three of them with an unreadable expression, keeping her lips firmly sealed.

The three girls exchanged knowing glances. By now, they had grown completely accustomed to Qiao Meixia’s ultra-concise responses. Experience had taught them that whenever Qiao Meixia had no interest in discussing a topic, no amount of prying on earth could force a word out of her.

They changed the topic and talked about something else.

Shortly after, the four of them arrived at their destination.

When they stepped into the classroom, the vast majority of their classmates had already arrived.
