Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Screw Transmigration

The barbarians roared, charging for an enemy Victor could only describe as a fervent dream.

[Basalt Dragonic Lizard]

As the name implied, was made of dark fine grained Volcanic rock. Scales six inches long and jagged covered its body, from head to tail.

Its enlarged size crawled on all fours. It had powerful muscular limbs, thick as pillars, ending in claws as beefy and long as a man’s thigh.

It had three red inverted eyes: one on the left, right, and center.

It had an enlongated snout, a protruding tongue with tiny barbs capable of licking off human flesh from bone.

And then they was the teeth.

...Are those prison bars?

The barbarians charged like hungry animals for the Basalt Dragonic Lizard.

From the beast’s perspective, humans must have looked like rodents.

RAWWWR.

It replied their charge in response as it WHIPPED its tail forward.

It was like a flexible pillar had moved. The tip of which landed an inch away from Victor.

Lazily, the Basalt Dragonic Lizard pulled its tail back. In its retreat was a frightening trail of blood and bodies mashed to paste.

The faces that had excitedly rushed in for battle were now no more.

Victor’s breath quickened, his stomach churned, and he could hold it in no more.

His knees crashed to the ground as he vomited bile, again and again.

What the hell is this? People are dying. They are really dying.

His eyes registered the scattered organs and reddened flesh on the battlefield.

His fingers trembled, body sweated, head became light and overwhelming dizziness assaulted him.

That beast... I’ll die here. Oh my god. I am really going to die here. I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die!!

Mummy!!!

Then a figure landed in front of him.

SLAP

Victor fell to the ground. That slap had done wonders to his senses.

His gaze landed on the muscular barbarian woman that had smacked sense into him.

She stood with a fierce commanding presence. Her striking ashen skin was smooth yet rugged with silvery lines of old battle scars. Her thick wild hair was pulled back and tied with rough intent into a secured bun at the top of her head.

This highlighted her sharp feminine features; angular jaw, high cheekbones, and piercing eyes that challenged Victor’s cowardice.

Her lips, pink and full, brought her entire beauty together.

A few stray, untamed strands escaped the binding, framed a powerful muscular neck.

Her slim stomach was lined with layered abs, a sight that would please the eyes of hot blooded young men.

She wore rugged armor from cured leather and dark fur that only covered the necessary.

Victor had seen women on TV, including those Rankers with unearthly beauty.

But never had he seen such a wild untamed beauty.

She pointed her bronze broad sword at him. "Milkshake22 son of late king Zaza, how dare you show cowardice before a beast of encroaching darkness?

If you are going to bring shame to your father, and my betrothed, Popo, then I shall bestow upon you a more honorable death."

She pushed the broad sword further, just enough that its tip kissed his neck.

The slap and threat to his life snapped Victor out of his fear.

Victor’s mind subconsciously registered her words.

Father? Betrothed?

His eyes caught the image of the young man that had called him brother waving towards him with a huge grin.

That was Popo.

He suddenly remembered the information he knew about the game.

When playing ’Story Mode’ as a Barbarian in Dungeon Conquest, the player starts in the Mallet Arena as the youngest of two sons of the late King Zaza; Player and Popo.

The boys desire to make a name for themselves and challenge the new king—King Boramo for their right to the throne.

If it was just as he remembered it, then the Barbarian woman before him should be Kiki, daughter of a tribal shaman with ties to the late king Zaza.

Victor remembered the harsh temperament she had in the game. A woman that hated cowardice so much that she later cut down her own father for it.

He swallowed hard.

"No... I... I am not backing away from the fight."

Her blade lowered toward his groin.

Victor’s eyes followed. "Oh, that. My thighs were tight. So I pissed myself a little. You know, for the lubrication." He faked a chuckle.

I can’t believe I just made a joke in such a situation.

She gave him a disgusting look one more time, then snickered. "Weak."

Swinging her broad sword over her shoulder, she roared towards the beast, joining the battle once more.

Victor looked on.

Damn, she is so hot. Even Nadia would not compare to such a woman.

By now, there were barbarians climbing the beast’s body, with fruitless attempts at killing it.

So I am really in the game.

He massaged the stinging pain on his face. This pain from that barbaric woman’s slap. It could not be faked.

His eyes slowly watered.

"YES!!!" He screamed, hands flaring in the air. "I did it. I actually did it. Many otakus have dreamed of the opportunity. But I actually did it."

Everyone turned to him.

"Is he alright?" King Boramo asked the Shaman beside him.

"Must be the fear getting to his mind, my king. There is always one." He hissed, "quite unfortunate it had to be the former king’s second son."

King Boramo nodded dismissively.

What these people did not know was Victor’s joy.

Transmigrating into a different world was a dream every Otaku had. It was a topic that occupied a majority of the forums.

To abandon one’s old miserable life for a better world filled with the promise of wealth, powers and beauties.

However, just as the excitement hit him, so did the dread.

Fuck fuck fuck... of all the worlds to transmigrate into, I got shoved into Dungeon Conquest.

Like a shy turtle, his head sank in between his legs.

Victor had played Dungeon Conquest thousands of times as different characters.

He understood the storyline like the back of his hand. While that might feel like an advantage, it came with knowledge of how messed up this world was.

This was akin to being thrown in hell knowing that even the Devil was going to get burnt.

The world within Dungeon Conquest was called Gavalon. A world long devastated by its apocalypse.

Something the locals called the Encroaching Darkness.

An abnormality that fundamentally changed the people and creatures of this world on a cellular level.

Monsters in this world were not restricted to the creatures that could not think.

Just the thought of the horror to come arrested his heart.

"Screw Transmigration. I have to get out of here..."
