I Am Not A Goblin Slayer
Chapter 1059 - 506: Earth Elemental Plane
"What’s inside?"
The others noticed the change in the rock wall after walking in. Although their spatial Perception was far less keen than Gauss’s, they could still feel the strange fluctuations emanating from it.
"It seems to be a Subspace," Gauss said after a moment of contemplation. He had read some books regarding spatial forces. In theory, numerous Subspaces existed in this world. However, the vast majority of these spaces were never open to the Main Material Realm. Even if they did intersect with the Main Material Realm, the convergence would only last briefly before they eventually separated again. In other words, the scene before them was not something one would often see.
"I’ll have a clay creature go inside to scout the situation first," Gauss said patiently. Involving spatial forces, he did not enter recklessly. He motioned for the others to step back a little, then activated his Clay Magic.
A few palm-sized Clay Spiders flicked out from the cuffs of his magic robe, landing steadily on the ground. Gauss divided his Spiritual Power to establish a relatively stable mental link with the few clay creatures, then drove them to line up and pass through the rock wall.
As expected, after the Clay Spiders were swallowed by the rock wall, his connection to them was severed. Sure enough, spiritual links could not cross between different spaces.
Fortunately, after waiting patiently for a moment, one of the spiders crawled out from the other side of the rock wall with a CLICK-CLACK. This was a return command Gauss had pre-programmed when he created it using Clay Magic. Even if the mental connection was severed, it would still execute its predetermined instructions like a robot.
Gauss attached his Spiritual Power to the returning Clay Spider, reading the visual images stored within it. Through this method, he was able to get a glimpse of the internal space without risking his real body entering it.
Soon, Gauss read the corresponding footage. There, through the spider’s compound eyes, he saw a purely yellowish-brown world. And there seemed to be no danger around. At least, that was the case from the first dozen seconds after it entered.
Before long, the other Clay Spiders also returned one after another. Gauss reviewed their footage one by one, and only after confirming there were likely no clear dangers did he look up at the others.
"I didn’t see any dangerous creatures near the entrance for the time being, so I plan to go in first and take a look.
"Wait for me outside for a moment."
Although he had already briefly investigated the world beyond through the Clay Spiders, it was ultimately just scratching the surface. To make an accurate judgment, he still needed to enter and investigate in person. The composition of the air, whether there were invisible harmful substances or abnormal rules—these were things that could not be verified through visual information alone.
"Then be careful." Seeing that Gauss’s Clay Spiders had all returned safely, Aaliyah wasn’t overly worried.
Under the watchful eyes of the group, Gauss walked into the squirming rock wall.
The moment he passed through, Gauss experienced a completely different sensation. Theoretically, a Maze was also a special kind of Subspace, but their relationship with the Main Material Realm was too close; they had already blended together. So objectively speaking, when a Maze was open, its internal space and the Main Material Realm were in the same dimension.
But the space Gauss had just passed through felt like another world entirely. It was merely smaller in scale and happened to stick close to the Main Material Realm, creating a small entrance connecting the two.
"Such rich Earth Attribute Natural Magic."
Before Gauss even opened his eyes, he felt as if he was immersed in an intense, singular, and powerful ocean of Magic Power. If the Natural Magic of the Main Material Realm was without Attribute or possessed every Attribute, then the Earth Attribute Magic Power in this natural environment likely occupied more than ninety percent, leaving less than ten percent for all other various elements.
He reasonably inferred that if he used other Magic with distinct Attributes—such as the Fireball Technique, Wind Creation Skill, or Ice Storm—the Spell effects would be extremely poor. Conversely, earth-related Magic would receive a massive boost.
This was an earth-element planar world. All rules gravitated toward this.
Gauss stood upon a dirt mound, with a spectacular "great river" in the distance. But what surged in its turbulent flow was not clear, pristine water, but a river of flowing sand. The ground was yellowish-brown, the river was dark, and the sky was a pale yellow.
In the distant horizon, a brownish-yellow river of sand cascaded down from the sky like the Milky Way. Giant floating "meteorites" rose and fell. Such marvels that completely defied natural cognition could be seen everywhere.
The air composition also seemed different from the outside world. Ordinary people entering would probably experience discomfort before long. Fortunately, Gauss’s current body had absolutely no problem coping with these subtle changes.
TAP, TAP, TAP...
The sound drew Gauss’s gaze. Not far from his feet, a stone crab was crawling slowly, carrying a murky Crystal Stone on its back. He immediately recognized this as a new monster he had never seen in the outside world.
CRACK!
Gauss raised his foot and brought it down.
[Killed Ordinary Monster: Slab-Shell Stone Crab *1]
[Ordinary Monster Atlas species +1]
He narrowed his eyes, staring at the stone that had shattered into several pieces. It seemed that there would be a large number of new species in this earth-element plane. For him, this was definitely huge news.
He surveyed his surroundings once more, then, without lingering too long, turned and melted back into the rock wall behind him.
