Chapter 2336: Chapter 2334: A Gift for the Fated One
The green-clothed youth saw that there was no one in the shop, so he was about to leave. Just as he was about to turn and go, something caught his eye on the wall—a painting that captivated him.
At first glance, this painting couldn’t even be called a painting. It was like scribbles of ink on white paper. But upon closer inspection, it resembled a gigantic hand that overshadowed the sky, exuding a terrifying pressure that couldn’t be concealed even by the paper. Besides that, there was even a righteous and awe-inspiring aura!
The green-clothed youth had ascended from a lower realm and, by a stroke of luck, fell from the Spirit Realm into the True Spirit Realm, only to be hunted all the way. It was only after disguising himself as a True Spirit, he kicked the iron plate by mistake, and was chased again.
During this process, the green-clothed youth had even fought against Ancient Demons, not just once or twice. He had even slain a wisp of soul of an Ancient Demon in the Unification Realm, all credits to his Lifebound Magical Treasure.
Because his Lifebound Magical Treasure could release a type of lightning, red in color, imbued with the power of ultimate yang and hardness, it was highly suppressive against Demonic Qi. In his previous battles with Ancient Demons, his Lifebound Magical Treasure had proven invaluable.
Because of this, he was particularly sensitive to the aura of righteousness.
"What... what kind of Divine Skill is this? To be able to condense even a trace of righteous aura! This is too powerful!" thought the green-clothed youth, shocked to his core.
The youth, who had originally intended to leave, stopped when he witnessed this scene. No matter what, he had to obtain this painting and learn the divine skill depicted on it. Only then could he secure another life-saving card.
But when he touched the storage pouch at his waist, a wry smile appeared on his face.
He didn’t have much wealth left on him and wasn’t sure if he could afford the painting with what he had.
Shaking his head, the green-clothed youth stood still, waiting.
In the backyard.
Every movement of the green-clothed youth had not escaped Zhang Xiaohao’s keen observation.
From the moment he entered, Zhang Xiaohao had taken notice of him. This person felt different to him, blessed with great fortune, yet exuding an overwhelming killing aura. Judging by the intensity of this aura, even if not ten million, at least eight or nine million cultivators had met their end at his hands. Compared to his own achievements, he was insignificant, but with his Golden Core Realm prowess, he was indeed terrifying.
"Young master, someone has arrived!" said the red-clothed attendant.
"It’s alright. Let’s continue our meal," Zhang Xiaohao replied with a smile.
Though he found this young man intriguing, he was not about to abandon his meal to meet him.
With his current cultivation, there likely wasn’t a single person across the Three Realms worth him personally attending to.
He continued eating, sipping on the fine wine from the Phoenix Clan.
Three hours later.
Zhang Xiaohao laid down his chopsticks, took out a bamboo shoot, and with a pinch of his two fingers, ignited it with a flicker of golden flame at his fingertips, squinting as he smoked.
Blowing out a puff of smoke, Zhang Xiaohao stood up and walked towards the front shop.
As for Xiong Wang, he continued indulging in his feast.
Upon entering the shop, Zhang Xiaohao calmly cast a glance at the green-clothed youth and sat down on a reclining chair, picking up a book and began to read.
Seeing the shop owner come in, the green-clothed youth carefully scrutinized Zhang Xiaohao, but found himself unable to discern Zhang Xiaohao’s exact realm with his cultivation.
Not willing to give up, the green-clothed youth secretly used the Heavenly Eye Divine Power to probe Zhang Xiaohao.
Yet still, nothing was revealed.
"It’s quite impolite to secretly scrutinize others." Zhang Xiaohao’s calm voice sounded, while rings of smoke were blown from his mouth.
"Ah! Sorry, owner! I didn’t mean to!" the green-clothed youth said, a bit nervously.
No one, after all, likes being secretly scrutinized, let alone this mysterious shop owner before him.
"Mm." Zhang Xiaohao nodded noncommittally.
He continued to read, smoking the bamboo shoot, seemingly oblivious to the presence of the green-clothed youth.
Seeing Zhang Xiaohao’s demeanor, the green-clothed youth bit his teeth, as if making a decision in his heart.
"Owner, are you selling this painting? How much is it?" the green-clothed youth asked.
"One hundred top-grade Spirit Stones!" Xiong Wang answered as he walked out from the backyard, having heard the question.
Thud thud thud...
The green-clothed youth instinctively stepped back a few steps. A hundred top-grade Spirit Stones was not much compared to the painting’s worth, and even very little, but he didn’t have that kind of money! Even going broke, he didn’t have that much.
Even at his peak, he didn’t have that much money.
"Owner, can you make it cheaper? I don’t have that many Spirit Stones!" the green-clothed youth said.
"Non-negotiable price!" Xiong Wang stated.
With that said, he stood aside, quietly acting as the attendant student.
"Owner! Can I work for you? Exchange work for Spirit Stones? What do you think?" the green-clothed youth gritted his teeth and said.
Zhang Xiaohao said nothing, continuing to peacefully read his book, smoking the bamboo shoot, while rings of smoke puffed from his mouth.
Seeing Zhang Xiaohao’s demeanor, the green-clothed youth gritted his teeth, seemingly making a certain decision, then quickly walked over, slapped the storage pouch at his waist with his right hand, and took out a golden jug, placing it respectfully on the counter with a touch of reluctance in his heart.
"Owner, this is Monkey Wine! Although it isn’t worth a hundred top-grade Spirit Stones, it’s the best item I possess. Besides this jug of wine, I have nothing else," the green-clothed youth said with a bitter smile.
"Leave the wine! Take the painting and leave," Zhang Xiaohao said calmly.
"Ah! Owner, did you agree? You don’t want me to stay and work?" the green-clothed youth asked excitedly.
"If you want to stay, you can choose to stay!" Zhang Xiaohao replied.
"Ah! Thank you, owner!" the green-clothed youth exclaimed excitedly.
Immediately, he swiftly took the painting down from the wall, looking at Zhang Xiaohao with gratitude.
"Owner, may I presumptuously ask you a question?" the green-clothed youth asked.
"Speak!" Zhang Xiaohao said.
"Owner, why are you giving this painting to me for free?" the green-clothed youth asked, puzzled.
"A gift for those with a destined fate!" Zhang Xiaohao replied.
With that, he picked up the jug, opened the lid, and immediately, an intoxicating aroma wafted from the jug. The fragrance was so intense, though it contained no Spiritual Energy, it was still a rare delicacy. If sold, it might only be worth one or two top-grade Spirit Stones!
Zhang Xiaohao took a sip from the jug, a refreshing and fiery sensation spreading through his heart.
"Good wine!" Zhang Xiaohao said.
