Chapter 2341: Chapter 2339: Invitation and Borrowing Money (Sixth Update)

Just as the wine emerged, a surge of mighty Spiritual Power emanated from within, so potent that even without deliberate action, the Spiritual Power exuded by the wine transformed into a vast Spiritual Power storm.

"Ah! Could it really be that this wine is the top-tier Spiritual Wine of the Phoenix Clan?" Number One exclaimed in shock.

The richness of this Spiritual Power was exceedingly dense, and apart from the overwhelming Spiritual Power, there was a rich aroma of Spiritual Wine coming from the wine in the cup.

Although the other four women remained silent, the expressions on their faces said it all.

"Of course, you all might as well think about who Mr. Xiong is. Could I possibly present fake Spiritual Wine from the Phoenix Clan to deceive you all?" Xiong Wang said proudly.

Numbers One, Two, Three, Four, and Five of the sisters exchanged glances, all seeing surprise and amazement in each other’s eyes. They truly couldn’t fathom that in this small courtyard, there would appear top-quality Spiritual Wine of the Phoenix Clan.

What exactly is the Phoenix Clan? They are giants of the True Spirit Realm, only comparable to such super races as the Five-clawed Golden Dragon. Other True Spirit races are completely overshadowed when compared to the Phoenix Clan!

Moreover, the Phoenix Clan boasts five main branches, each a super strong presence.

Looking at Xiong Wang, they no longer dared harbor even a hint of disdain in their hearts, and even their gaze at the red-clad woman became incredibly respectful. In the minds of these five women, the red-clad woman before them might be a member of the Phoenix Clan and possibly someone with an unfathomably high cultivation level.

As for Zhang Xiaohao, even Xiong Wang and the woman who appears to be a direct member of the Phoenix Clan, address him as "Young Master"—his esteemed status is something even guessing with one’s toes could reveal.

"Perhaps this is a good thing for us!" Number One said with a trace of excitement.

"Hmm." The other four nodded.

"Hahaha! Naturally, from now on, you five sisters follow Mr. Xiong, and you’ll only enjoy the best food and drink. Could I ever treat you five poorly?" Xiong Wang laughed heartily.

Seeing this scene, Zhang Xiaohao shrugged with a playful smile.

Sipping wine, eating dishes.

After the meal, Zhang Xiaohao stood up from the chair and headed towards the front of the shop.

As for the red-clad woman, she sat in the small courtyard, taking out a book from the clan and reading it attentively.

Entering the shop, Zhang Xiaohao lay down on the recliner, flipping his right hand to take out a big panda cigarette, squinting as he smoked.

Wisps of smoke continuously poured out from his mouth.

Thump, thump, thump...

A series of gentle footsteps suddenly sounded from outside.

Soon after, a middle-aged woman, wearing a long green dress, hesitated as she walked to the doorway and paused.

Poking her head inside the shop and seeing Zhang Xiaohao lounging on the recliner, lazily smoking a big panda, with wisps of smoke coming from his mouth, she gritted her teeth and bravely walked in.

"Hello, young man, I am your neighbor next door. My family’s surname is Zhu. You can call me Sister-in-law Zhu," the middle-aged woman introduced herself.

"Xiao Xiong, serve some tea." Zhang Xiaohao instructed.

No matter who the other person is, the visitor is a guest; since they’ve come, proper etiquette must be observed.

In the backyard, Xiong Wang heard Zhang Xiaohao’s words and immediately put down his chopsticks, rushing over from the backyard, suspiciously glancing at the middle-aged woman before him, and quickly recognizing her as the neighbor next door.

As per Zhang Xiaohao’s instruction, he poured a cup of tea and handed it over.

"Thank you for the offer, young man! I, uh, don’t drink tea," the middle-aged woman said nervously.

"Sister-in-law Zhu, do you have a matter to discuss? Feel free to speak," Zhang Xiaohao stood up from the recliner.

"Young man, it’s like this! Three days later is my son’s wedding day, and I’d like to invite you to the banquet. Here’s the invitation!" The middle-aged woman said.

While speaking, she took out a red invitation card from her sleeve and placed it in front of Zhang Xiaohao.

"Alright! Three days later, I will certainly prepare a generous gift and attend Brother Zhu’s wedding on time," Zhang Xiaohao said with a smile.

"Thank you, young man!" The middle-aged woman replied.

However, she didn’t leave, her face showing hesitation.

Her child was about to marry, and the bride was a young lady from a prominent family. Although the elders reluctantly agreed, they proposed a condition: a substantial dowry, only with which they would consent to marrying off their daughter. Without it, there’s no discussing marriage until the money is gathered.

All relatives and friends from whom they could borrow have already been approached, and coupled with years of savings, they still fall about halfway short.

Driven by desperation, her husband came up with an idea, sending her to borrow money from their new neighbor, Zhang Xiaohao. He feared humiliation and didn’t come himself, leaving her to handle it alone.

Thus, this scene unfolded.

After all, unfamiliar with each other and lacking interaction, since they sought a loan, there had to be a pretext, hence the origin of the invitation card.

"Sister-in-law Zhu, is there anything else?" Zhang Xiaohao asked.

"Young man, I, I, I would like to borrow some money from you! You see, my child is getting married, and since the bride’s family is a notable one, they demand quite a bit for the dowry. We’ve borrowed from all our relatives and friends, and added to our savings over the years, we’re still about halfway short. Young man, if it’s convenient, could you lend us a little money? I promise we’ll repay it by the same time next year!" The middle-aged woman said nervously.

"Sister-in-law Zhu, how much do you lack?" Zhang Xiaohao asked with a smile.

"Five hundred yuan of low-grade Spirit Stones are still needed!" The middle-aged woman said nervously.

"Xiao Xiong, bring five hundred yuan of low-grade Spirit Stones to Sister-in-law Zhu," Zhang Xiaohao instructed.

"Ah! Young Master, I don’t have any low-grade Spirit Stones on me!" Xiong Wang froze, then said bitterly.

He has a small amount of medium-grade Spirit Stones, perhaps about a thousand or two, and the rest are all high-grade or top-grade Spirit Stones.

As for low-grade Spirit Stones, their quality is too low, containing little Spiritual Power, so naturally, he doesn’t fancy having them around.

"N-never mind!" The middle-aged woman said with slight disappointment.

Looking at Zhang Xiaohao, she forced a smile.

"Young man, you must come to the wedding banquet three days later!" The middle-aged woman said.

"Sister-in-law Zhu, don’t rush, wait here for a moment! I have five hundred yuan of low-grade Spirit Stones here." Zhang Xiaohao said with a smile.

He exhaled smoke and glanced at Xiong Wang.

"Young Master, just wait a moment, I’ll go fetch some!" Xiong Wang said bitterly.

In his heart, he truly wanted to say that low-grade Spirit Stones are of such low quality, they’re just a waste of space! However, helpless, he quickly ran to the backyard, Numbers One through Five should have some, since their cultivation level is so low that they must be using low-grade Spirit Stones. Higher-grade Spirit Stones are beyond their current qualifications.
