Chapter 656 - 369: Opening the Chest

Su Ze knew the Mother Tree’s master had locked the most precious items inside that treasure chest. Now that there was a chance to obtain the treasures within, he couldn’t help but speculate about what amazing things were inside.

It would be perfect if it contained a treasure that could enhance his combat strength, like a Tier Eight Wondrous Item.

Su Ze was already planning to leave Zexing for a trip soon.

After all the trouble he went through to leave Blue Star, he had to go out and see the universe. He couldn’t just remain content in his own little corner, holed up on Zexing forever.

Besides, if he wanted to continue improving his strength, he had to obtain certain resources from the outside.

Furthermore, to acquire new skills, he had to kill a Moon God-level expert or a Tier Eight exotic beast, both of which were above his current level.

Wondrous Items could provide a huge advantage when fighting above one’s level, so Su Ze was currently desperate for a powerful one.

The only Wondrous Items he currently had on hand were the Tier Seven Storm Horn and Land Lock, the Tier Six Item Seed, and the Tier Five Wondrous Item: Flower of Desperate Struggle. He had left all his other Wondrous Items back on Blue Star.

The Item Seed was also about to be upgraded to Tier Seven, but even with these few Wondrous Items, it still wasn’t enough to kill a Moon God.

The treasures left behind by Mr. Ao did include a few Tier Seven Wondrous Items, but after looking them over, Su Ze found none that were particularly suitable for him, so he hadn’t taken any.

’The usually-so-thoughtful Mr. Ao had clearly overlooked this detail.’

Now, his only hope was the treasure chest left by the Mother Tree’s master.

However, everything would have to wait until Mr. Ya came out of his seclusion.

For the next few days, Su Ze remained at the base, waiting for Mr. Ya to emerge from his seclusion.

The development of Zexing was on the right track and no longer required his attention.

He spent these days preparing for his trip, learning from the Pope about various things to be aware of in the universe, familiarizing himself with the region around Zexing, and looking for the nearest Public Planet.

The Pope rattled off all sorts of information in one go, then drew a Star Map for Su Ze to study at his leisure.

The universe was vast and boundless, and the Pope’s knowledge was limited to a certain area. The map he drew was of a Star Realm relatively close to Zexing’s coordinates.

"Relatively close" was a loose term; because of Zexing’s remote location, it was still several Star Realms away.

If Su Ze didn’t have a Sun God-level Spaceship, getting there would have been quite an ordeal.

After giving Su Ze the map, the Pope eagerly returned to his research. Su Ze had recently handed Feng Bqing over to the Pope and Liou Wenxin for study. The two treated him like a priceless treasure, researching him so obsessively that they forgot to eat or sleep.

Su Ze planned to present Feng Bqing to the Tree Spirit Race as a gift when he visited them in the future. According to the Mother Tree, this would earn him a handsome reward.

’But before that, there’s no harm in letting Liou Wenxin and the Pope study Feng Bqing’s secrets first. Who knows what they might discover?’

Speaking of the Tree Spirit Race, Su Ze suddenly remembered something. He took out the scepter that the Mother Tree had transformed into and communicated with her for a moment.

Since he was going to open the chest left by her master, he felt he should at least give her a heads-up. He also used the opportunity to reassure the Mother Tree, as he didn’t plan on visiting the Tree Spirit Race just yet.

In other words, the Tree Spirit Race also had Ancestral God-level experts. It was impossible for Su Ze to evolve to the Ancestral God level before visiting them, and the Mother Tree’s master probably couldn’t wait that long.

Therefore, even if he reached the Sun God level before visiting, he would still be doomed if an Ancestral God of the Tree Spirit Race bore him any ill will.

’It would be best not to go to the Tree Spirit Race at all. I could find another way to heal the Mother Tree’s master. That would be safe, and I’d still be fulfilling my promise to the Mother Tree.’

’Or, if I absolutely have to go, I’ll figure out a way to use a clone or something.’

Su Ze made up his mind. He would first try to heal the Mother Tree’s master himself. His Regeneration Fruit was now integrated into a Tier Seven Divine Skill, which had enhanced its healing effect. Perhaps it would actually work.

’I can’t try it now, though. If it actually works and I wake her master, Zexing’s location will be exposed.’

He decided to try it out during his upcoming trip.

After finishing his conversation with the Mother Tree, Su Ze sensed something and looked toward a specific part of the base. It was the room where Mr. Ya was in seclusion.

He sensed the aura of a breakthrough. Mr. Ya had successfully completed his sixth evolution, finally advancing to the Legendary rank!

Su Ze immediately sent a telepathic message to Mr. Ya, telling him to absorb the "Void" legacy and upgrade the skill to a Quasi-Divine Skill.

Su Ze had given Mr. Ya the subsequent parts of the "Void" legacy long ago.

The moment Mr. Ya emerged from his seclusion, Su Ze dragged him to the entrance of the Emerald Spaceship’s Central Treasure Vault.

Mr. Ya had successfully upgraded "Void" to a Quasi-Divine Skill. The skill’s cooldown was now even shorter, its duration was longer, and its effects were more potent.

Unfortunately, Su Ze’s Space Jump was still only a Tier Six skill and hadn’t been upgraded to a Divine Skill; otherwise, he might have been able to teleport directly into the vault.

The two of them used "Void" to enter the Central Treasure Vault. This time, they didn’t need to wait for the skill’s cooldown. They plunged straight into the treasure chest at the center of the vault.

A thrill of joy shot through Su Ze. They had successfully passed through the Energy Shield inside the chest.

"Boss, get ready. I’m about to end the ’Void’ effect," Mr. Ya warned.

"Alright. Don’t worry, I’m ready."

The space inside the chest was cramped; it certainly couldn’t hold two grown men.
