I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 772: A Problematic Super Star, Big Trouble

  • Next Chapter

The commercially available Super Star Energy refers to the abundant light energy collected near a Super Star.

As the spaceship drew closer, everyone witnessed a breathtaking scene.

An indescribably enormous ball of fire appeared ahead. From their perspective, they couldn’t even take in the entire Super Star at a single glance.

“Zexing… we’re about to own a behemoth like this?”

Everyone was overcome with excitement.

Su Ze walked over and commanded, “Slow down moderately and continue to approach.”

Even a Sun God-level Spaceship wouldn’t dare to dock directly on a Super Star, or even get too close.

The terrifyingly high temperatures would burn through the ship’s Protective Shield and melt the entire vessel.

Therefore, after closing a certain distance, the Magic Cube had to stop. Su Ze would have to approach the Super Star himself and store it in the Giant Spatial Artifact.

The Magic Cube continued forward for a short while longer, and the Protective Shield outside the ship was already being steadily worn down. Fortunately, the Magic Cube could absorb solar energy to recharge, quickly replenishing what was lost.

But after flying forward for another half a day, the Magic Cube’s energy expenditure outpaced its intake. The energy it recharged via solar power could no longer balance out the energy consumed to maintain the Protective Shield.

Su Ze ordered the ship to halt. After making his preparations, he left the vessel.

The moment he left the Magic Cube’s Protective Shield, Su Ze felt a piercing pain all over his body. The sunlight felt like needles pricking his skin.

Fortunately, after his genetic modification from “Knowledge is Power,” Su Ze’s physical durability was on a completely different level. He could withstand this degree of damage relying on his body’s Self-Healing Ability alone.

He faced the light and moved closer to the Super Star.

With every step forward, the light grew a fraction hotter.

Su Ze began to use Space Jump to shorten his travel time, also reducing his exposure to the intense light.

He didn’t stop until his skin started showing signs of melting.

The intensity of the light here was already far greater than that of the Super Star Energy sold on the market.

Su Ze activated his “Sponge Body” ability to absorb the light hitting him.

As he flew, he continuously condensed Elemental Fruits and tossed them aside casually to delay his Sponge Body from reaching its saturation point.

At the same time, he shrank his body to reduce his surface area exposed to the light.

Suddenly, the super-intense light was no longer much of a threat to him.

But this was only temporary. As the light grew even stronger, his “Sponge Body” eventually became saturated and could no longer absorb any more energy.

Su Ze switched to using the effect of his “Strongest Strike” ability, which originally came from the Impact Cannon. It absorbed external energy to be used as ammunition. He began absorbing the light energy directly in front of him bit by bit, reducing the damage it inflicted.

By the time his “Strongest Strike” was also fully charged, Su Ze was already extremely close to the Super Star.

“Mu Mu!”

Su Ze slapped the spatial artifact on his waist, releasing the Dark Blood Giant Beast.

Two clusters of demonic flame shot out from the Dark Blood Giant Beast’s eyes, opening the Dark Domain.

It instantly devoured all surrounding light!

With that, Su Ze’s journey became much easier again.

Unfortunately, the Dark Domain couldn’t move. Whenever Su Ze walked out of its range, he had to have the Dark Blood Giant Beast create another one.

When the Dark Blood Giant Beast was also exhausted, Su Ze recalled it, took out the bottle of Chlorophyll Capsules he had, and swallowed them all in one gulp.

In an instant, his entire body was dyed a deep green, making him look like a cucumber.

The green on his skin became his Protective Coloration, converting the scorching sunlight into a special energy he could absorb, which helped him digest the Evolutionary Material in his body.

While the chlorophyll had yet to be completely consumed, Su Ze accelerated with all his might, charging toward the Super Star.

He drew closer and closer to the Super Star, and the light energy he had to endure grew increasingly terrifying. The chlorophyll on his skin was depleted in an instant.

Su Ze expanded his body. His flesh was continuously vaporizing, but he pushed forward, enduring the bone-searing pain.

When his body could take no more, he shattered his Regeneration Core to repair it.

Then he consumed the energy stored by his “Sponge Body” ability to reform the Regeneration Core, only to shatter it again, repair, and repeat…

Finally, he charged close enough to the Super Star and took out the Giant Spatial Artifact—a large sphere over a meter in diameter.

‘Capture!’

With a single thought, the surrounding heatwave and the blinding glare vanished in an instant.

Everything fell silent.

The Super Star was gone. The space here was now just like its surroundings: dead silent, ice-cold, dark, and empty.

The nearest few planets had been completely carbonized by the Super Star’s constant, scorching heat over the years.

Su Ze breathed a sigh of relief. He had used every trick in his arsenal, but he had finally succeeded in capturing the Super Star.

He cradled the Giant Spatial Artifact. Separated by a spatial barrier, he couldn’t feel the Super Star’s scorching heat at all.

Just like that, Su Ze carried the large, meter-plus-tall sphere and flew back to the Magic Cube.

As soon as he was back on the ship, everyone gathered around like curious children, staring at the large sphere from all angles.

There wasn’t much to see just by looking at the Giant Spatial Artifact itself, but by extending their Spiritual Power into it, they could glimpse the Super Star in its entirety.

But after a little while, the novelty wore off, and everyone dispersed. In the end, there wasn’t much to see—it was just a big ball of fire.

Especially after it was stored in the Giant Spatial Artifact. Looking at it from a god’s-eye view, it was nothing more than a shrunken ball of fire.

Only the Pope and Mage remained, still gathered around the Giant Spatial Artifact, unwilling to leave.
