I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 781: The 9th Evolution, a Leap in Strength

The light, indistinguishable from sunlight, radiated from within Su Ze, bathing his entire form in a golden hue.

He became the source of the light, the center of the radiance.

He was resplendent, like a great sun, too brilliant for anyone to look at directly.

At this moment, Su Ze was incredibly dazzling. The light burst from his seclusion chamber, illuminating the entire underground base and every corner of the Dream Space!

Only the spatial divide kept the light from reaching Zexing. Otherwise, the entire planet would have been illuminated, and its inhabitants would have discovered two suns in the sky!

It would have even illuminated the surrounding cosmos, lighting up tens of thousands of planets.

‘So this is what it means to be a Sun God? I am the blazing sun. Where my light shines, I command the life and death of all things. I am the master of all!’

Su Ze had an epiphany. Though he had possessed the combat power of a Sun God before, only now did he truly understand what it meant.

A Sun God-level powerhouse was a sovereign of their own domain, like a star in the cosmos.

If he willed there to be light, there was light. If he willed there to be darkness, there was darkness.

He could bestow warmth and bring hope, just as he could inflict disaster and reap death.

The light grew ever more intense. Su Ze’s body was continuously remolded through Cell Enhancement and genetic restructuring, ascending to a higher state of being.

But… something was still missing.

It wasn’t perfect.

A flash of understanding lit up Su Ze’s eyes. He took a single step and vanished from the underground base, reappearing on the surface of Zexing. Like a rising sun, he slowly ascended into the air.

As he slowly rose into the sky, everyone on the ground couldn’t help but look up.

In their eyes, Su Ze gradually merged with the sun in the sky. Or rather, he seemed to replace it entirely.

In that moment, it was as if they were witnessing a divine miracle, and a flood of uncontrollable emotions welled up within them.

Awe, reverence, gratitude, trepidation, adoration…

This confluence of emotions could only be called one thing: “faith”!

Zexing had many so-called “gods”—dozens of Star God powerhouses and even a few Moon God prisoners of war—but its people had never sensed a true divine stature from any of them.

They seemed to be nothing more than powerful life forms.

They possessed divine power, but not divinity itself.

But Su Ze, in this moment, fulfilled their every vision of what a god should be.

This was a true god!

Their faith in Su Ze was different from any religious belief.

They knew it was Su Ze—not some unknown deity, not some unattainable being.

He was a “person” they had seen and interacted with. Many of them had spoken to Su Ze. Many had witnessed his growth. Many even had his autograph or a photo with him.

Because of this, they knew with absolute clarity that it was this man who had led them from the prison of Blue Star, brought them to Zexing, and allowed them to begin a new chapter!

This man had given them the life they now had, fought off powerful enemies for them, and protected them.

So, in their hearts, Su Ze was a god!

He was their god, the god of Zexing, and the Guardian God of the Human Race!

When they saw Su Ze, they didn’t need to prostrate themselves in worship, but they had to feel respect and gratitude from the very bottom of their hearts.

…

Su Ze felt an intangible energy surging toward him.

He absorbed this energy without any hindrance. Then, his Spiritual Power—or rather, his soul—began to expand continuously.

‘This is… the power of faith!’

Su Ze understood.

Su Ze had long known that the power of faith could enhance one’s Spiritual Power.

The power of faith he was receiving in this single moment was likely greater than all the faith the Pope had gathered over several hundred years with his so-called Evolution Divine Teachings.

Although the source of this faith was small—after all, there were only a little over thirty thousand people on Zexing—it was exceptionally pure.

This power of faith gave Su Ze the final push he needed. The plane of his soul ascended another step, and only then did he feel his evolution was truly complete.

The light surrounding him gradually receded, and the small sphere of condensed evolutionary power within him dispersed once more.

With a Space Jump, Su Ze vanished from the sky and returned to the underground base.

A moment later, his ninth evolution was finally complete. He had at last become a true Sun God powerhouse!

He hadn’t even had a chance to fully comprehend his newfound power before he was already on the path toward even greater strength.

Without him having to do anything, changes were already taking place.

In his Dantian, the Inheritance Crystal manifested on its own. Streams of energy emanated from it, merging into Su Ze’s body.

This was the next stage of the inheritance for the Divine Grace of Evolution. Before long, the Divine Grace of Evolution had been upgraded to Tier Nine.

On the surface, the Tier Nine Divine Grace of Evolution didn’t seem much different, but Su Ze suddenly awakened another Racial Talent Ability: Skill Expansion!

It was a powerful but incredibly resource-intensive ability.

After learning what the ability did, Su Ze’s heart began to pound wildly.

He had always felt that after numerous skill fusions, many of his abilities had become too cluttered and convoluted.

And Su Ze suspected that to upgrade his skills to Tier Ten Ancestral Divine Skills, he would first have to streamline and perfect each one.

He knew the goal, but he had no good way of achieving it. He couldn’t just lop off the messy, extraneous effects, as that would cause the skills to de-level and weaken.

But now, with the “Skill Expansion” ability, he finally saw a path forward.

Imagine a decorative tree whose branches have grown to uneven, unsightly lengths. What do you do?

Most people would think to prune them all to the same length.

But what if you could make the shorter branches grow just as long as the longest ones? Wouldn’t that also solve the problem?

“Skill Expansion” possessed just that kind of magic.

It could continuously bolster every single effect of each of Su Ze’s skills.
