Vorzakh shifted its three blood-red eyes, locking its gaze directly onto Ren and Ryu without waiting for a command from Vora.

Damn it... is this where my story ends?

A bone-chilling dread washed over Ren, every nerve screaming as the titanic beast loomed over him like an absolute wall of impending carnage.

Vorzakh surged forward in a blur of violent, overwhelming speed. The 8-meter primeval abomination moved like a mountain unleashed, driving a heavy obsidian claw directly into Ryu’s chest before he could raise his sword to block.

BOOM!

Ryu was catapulted through the air like a ragdoll, hurtling across the clearing until he slammed violently into the translucent barrier Vora had erected to seal off the hill. The barrier hissed, spewing violet sparks as Ryu slumped down onto the dirt, blood pouring from his mouth before he collapsed into total unconsciousness.

Vorzakh didn’t pause for a second. Turning its massive frame toward Ren, the titan swept its colossal arm inward, catching Ren full in the ribs with the back of its armored wrist.

CRACK—!

The horrific sound of fracturing bone echoed over the wind. The sheer kinetic shock sent Ren skidding across the hard gravel, his body tumbling violently into the base of the magic barrier.

Ren gasped, vomiting a thick jet of crimson onto the rocks. His left leg bent at a grotesque, unnatural angle, and his left arm hung limply by his side, completely shattered. A single, direct hit from the evolved entity had reduced his body to absolute ruin. Internal bleeding flooded his chest cavity; every breath felt like swallowing molten iron.

He spat another spray of dark blood directly onto the dirt before Vorzakh’s shadow fell over him once more.

The beast lifted a massive, hooved foot, aiming to crush Ren’s head like a ripe melon.

"Vorzakh, stop!" Vora’s voice cut through the air, sharp and laced with panic. "Do not kill him! That’s enough!"

Vorzakh completely ignored her. Shifting its priorities away from the broken boy, the beast turned its towering frame toward the small cluster of trembling refugees huddled beneath Liora’s fading barrier.

Vora’s eyes widened as she shrieked, her dark dress fluttering as she rushed toward the titan. "I gave you an order, you useless beast! Halt!"

Vorzakh paid no heed to its master. Driven by pure monster instinct, it lowered its gaze toward Liora’s bleeding body. To Vorzakh’s senses, Liora wasn’t just a survivor—she was a pulsing beacon of raw, refined dimensional energy, the very power source that held this domain together. Absorbing her core would elevate its primeval evolution to absolute perfection.

Vorzakh lifted its double-bladed death scythe and swung it down in a violent, vertical cleave.

CRACK—BANG!

Liora’s weakened crimson barrier shattered instantly into a million glittering shards.

The refugees shrieked in terror. Several young men and women immediately threw their bodies over Liora’s motionless form, weeping openly as they shielded her bruised shoulders with their own frames. They had no weapons, no armor, and no magic left to cast. They simply locked their arms around her, closing their eyes tightly as they prepared to be erased together.

Vorzakh raised its massive claw, striking the protective circle of villagers.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

The impact sent the young refugees flying across the gravel in sprays of blood, their bodies tumbling helplessly into the dirt, battered and bleeding profusely. Yet, despite their broken bones, those who could still crawl dragged themselves back toward Liora’s pale body, weeping bitterly as they reached out with trembling, dirt-stained hands.

Ren watched the horrific scene unfold from the base of the barrier, his vision swimming with dark static.

A heavy, suffocating weight pressed down on his chest. It was the bitter taste of total failure. Seeing those defenseless people throw themselves onto a dying woman’s body just to buy her a few extra seconds of life tore through his soul deeper than any physical injury.

’They aren’t using her...’ Ren realized, his breathing shallow and erratic. ’They’re actually ready to die for her...’

It was naive. It defied every rule of cold, logical self-preservation he had lived by on Earth. But in this broken world, emotion and bond didn’t ask for permission from logic.

A single tear mixed with the trail of crimson sliding down his temple. His heart throbbed as if pierced by a rusted blade.

Only a handful of terrified teenagers and young women remained standing around Liora’s body, clinging to one another, sobbing hopelessly as the giant shadow of the scythe swept over them.

"Why do I have to die like this in a world like this...?" Ren murmured softly, his voice barely a breath. "How bloody ironic..."

Through his failing sight, he spotted Vora running toward him from across the clearing, her face flushed with genuine, frantic panic—a stark contrast to her usual cold, sadistic demeanor.

’You crazy bitch...’ Ren let out a wheezing, blood-choked laugh at his own expense. ’Running toward me with a face like that now...?’

"I’m sorry, Liora..."

Ren’s eyelids fluttered shut. His grip on reality snapped completely, right as Vorzakh’s colossal scythe began its final descent toward the weeping children guarding Liora’s frame.

Ren felt his consciousness violently yanked into a pitch-black abyss. The excruciating agony racking his broken bones dissolved in an instant, replaced by a cold, terrifying void.

Deep within the dark recess of his mind, the system interface flickered one final time in a chaotic, blood-red glitch.

[⚠️ CRITICAL: NYX SEAL THRESHOLD EXCEEDED ⚠️]

[HOST CONSCIOUSNESS FAILURE DETECTED...]

[NYX SEAL INTEGRATION: 97% → 98% → 99% → 100%]

[STATUS: OVERWRITE PROTOCOL ACTIVATED]

[HOST CONSCIOUSNESS: OFF-LINE]

[ENTITY ’NYX’ ASSUMING FULL CONTROL OF PHYSICAL VESSEL]

The dark screen cracked down the middle. A series of corrupted system logs filled the empty space, leaving a final grim message.

[SYSTEM FATAL ERROR]

[INITIATING EMERGENCY SYSTEM SHUTDOWN...]

[PROTOCOL NOTICE:]

The System will undergo a complete Shutdown and Error recovery phase for an estimated duration of 7 DAYS.

[CRITICAL REMINDER:]

The 7-day period is NOT absolute. This is an estimated timeframe for the System to rebuild the Nyx Seal from scratch.

• If the Nyx Entity is suppressed or re-sealed by external forces before this period ends, the System will REACTIVATE IMMEDIATELY.

• If Nyx takes permanent control of the vessel, the System will be shattered permanently alongside the Host’s soul.

[GOOD LUCK, ARCHITECT. DO NOT GET ERASED FOREVER.]

[SYSTEM OFFLINE.]

Silence fell over the inner realm.

Outside on the battlefield, the giant scythe stopped dead in mid-air, just inches above the weeping teenagers’ heads. The children kept their eyes shut, waiting for the impact that never came.

Vorzakh froze. Its three crimson eyes snapped around, locking onto the far edge of the hill.

Vora skidded to a halt in the dirt, her breath catching in her throat as her pale face turned utterly white.

BOOOOOOM—!

An explosive wave of dark purple energy erupted from Ren’s crumpled body, sending a violent shockwave tearing across the entire plateau!

The sheer pressure shattered Vora’s domain barrier into a million sparkling fragments. The dark sky above split open as the purple light shot straight into the clouds, twisting the sky into a massive, swirling vortex of pitch-black and violet lightning. Gale-force winds howled over the hill, uprooting dead trees and sending massive boulders rolling down the slopes.

A second violent pulse of dark aura expanded outward, blinding everyone on the hill.

When the light finally died down, the figure pushed itself up from the rocks.

Slowly, the eyes opened.

The panic was gone. The agony was gone. Every trace of human vulnerability had vanished from those eyes. What remained was a bottomless, empty abyss that swallowed the ambient light around it. His lips, which had been pale and trembling seconds ago, curled into a cold, arrogant smirk.

"Finally..."

The voice that echoed across the quiet hill was deep, resonant, and dripping with ancient, terrifying authority.

The entity lifted its right hand, examining the pale fingers as if inspecting a newly acquired tool. Wisps of pitch-black mana danced effortlessly around his fingertips, moving with a dark, predatory grace that dwarfed anything Ren had ever manifested.

The torn black shirt and trousers were gone. In their place, a magnificent, flowing dark cloak draped over his shoulders, lined with deep purple crystals that hummed with concentrated cosmic energy. His long hair swayed gently in the violent wind, his vacant purple eyes scanning the battlefield like a king looking down at dust.

He turned his gaze slowly toward Vora, who took three frantic steps backward, her chest heaving in unadulterated terror.

"N-Nyx...!" Vora gasped, her voice trembling violently.

Vorzakh turned its 8-meter primeval frame toward the dark god, letting out an ear-splitting, furious roar that shook the very foundation of the realm.

Nyx looked at the towering abomination with a glance of profound disgust, as if looking at a filthy insect buzzing near his feet.

"I will pulverize all of you," Nyx stated coldly.

He extended his right arm into the empty air. Dark purple mana surged from his palm, condensing into a massive, ornate dark scythe featuring an ’S’-shaped orb at its crest. He spun the colossal weapon effortlessly, a dense aura of pure black destruction wrapping around his form like a mantle of death.

He pointed the razor-sharp tip directly at Vorzakh’s throat.

The God of Darkness had returned.
