I Am the True Lord of Running Away
Chapter 191: Striving to Save
Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Striving to Save
"Give... it up... Since... I know... you’re okay, I... can die... in peace..." Zong Ziqi’s breath grew increasingly faint, more air leaving his body than entering. It was clear he didn’t have much time left.
"I won’t let you die so easily! Since I started saving you, I’m going to see it through to the end!"
Gritting his teeth, Jiang Xu also raised his Healing Technique to the Perfect Level!
In one fell swoop, Jiang Xu had raised three spells from Mastery to Perfect Level today, consuming thirty Limit-Breaking Points.
Instantly, Jiang Xu felt a tearing pain in his Dantian.
Three Magic Seeds had formed in his Dantian in such a short span of time.
This placed no small burden on his Dantian.
Five Perfect Level Magic Seeds circled the Cultivation Seed formed by his Cangmu Skill, like stars orbiting the moon. Inside Jiang Xu’s Dantian, they continuously breathed the Mana Fog.
Jiang Xu looked inward again.
Next to the Magic Seed formed from the Golden Light Spell, Jiang Xu saw the one created by the Healing Technique.
The Seed of Golden Light was quite special.
It radiated a dazzling golden light, its entire surface gleaming brilliantly. If Jiang Xu were to manifest it outside his body and claim it was a Golden Core, plenty of people would believe him.
The Seed of Healing, on the other hand, was a much paler green than the Cultivation Seed from the Cangmu Skill. It was a faint, light green with subtle, wood-like grain patterns on its surface, giving it an ancient, unadorned look.
When Jiang Xu’s Divine Sense touched the Seed of Healing, all the Mana Fog in his Dantian instantly turned the same pale green.
At the same time, the pain in his Dantian vanished. Jiang Xu could feel his Magical Power coursing through every meridian in his body.
All the minor internal injuries he had accumulated since the beginning of his training due to improper cultivation methods were completely healed.
This included minor tears in his meridians and even the organ damage sustained while practicing the Guiding Technique for the Ancient Strengthening Method; everything was restored to pristine condition by the Healing Magical Power flowing through him.
’I refuse to believe that a Perfect Level Healing Technique won’t work on you. If even this can’t save you, then I’m truly out of options. When you get to the Underworld, I’ll chant the Rebirth Spell so you can reincarnate quickly. But once you’re down there, don’t you go thinking about your brother. I’m worried you’ll get the bright idea to drag me along with you.’
Jiang Xu didn’t even know what he was rambling about. He just knew he couldn’t stop; he had to keep stimulating Zong Ziqi, to keep his consciousness from fading completely.
He pressed both hands firmly against Zong Ziqi’s body, his fingertips emitting a faint green light.
Streams of vibrant green light, filled with life force, flowed from his palms like a gentle stream, instantly enveloping Zong Ziqi’s entire body.
WHOOSH!
As he madly channeled his Magical Power, Jiang Xu felt it drain from him like a receding tide, pouring into Zong Ziqi’s body.
To his astonishment, however, no matter how much Magical Power he poured in, Zong Ziqi’s body was like a bottomless pit, greedily swallowing every last wisp without showing the slightest sign of improvement.
The shimmering green light circulated within Zong Ziqi’s body, attempting to mend his shattered organs and severed meridians, but each effort was like a stone dropped into the ocean, vanishing without a ripple.
Veins bulged on Jiang Xu’s forehead, and his face grew pale from the immense strain.
"Just what kind of devastating injuries did you sustain?!"
Staring at Zong Ziqi’s face, which was so still it was almost deathly, Jiang Xu would have thought he was already gone if not for the faint wisp of life he could still sense.
"I refuse to accept this!"
A look of fierce determination crossed Jiang Xu’s face.
He clenched his jaw and quickly pulled out two or three shimmering elixirs from the Storage Bag at his waist. These were Spirit Pills for restoring Magical Power that he kept for emergencies, each one worth a small fortune.
But right now, with Zong Ziqi’s life on the line, Jiang Xu couldn’t afford to worry about the cost. After staring at the elixirs in his hand for a moment, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes. He resolutely pulled out another two or three from his Storage Bag and shoved them all into his mouth without a second thought.
Swallowing the elixirs didn’t slow Jiang Xu down.
He took a deep breath, his expression twisting in pain. The immense power from the elixirs overwhelmed his Dantian, putting it under so much pressure it felt close to tearing apart.
However, thanks to his Healing Technique, his Dantian was constantly being repaired, just barely maintaining its equilibrium.
But it still wasn’t enough.
After taking the elixirs, Jiang Xu’s Magical Power output doubled.
Yet even this wasn’t enough to cause a fundamental improvement in Zong Ziqi’s condition.
If this continued for much longer, Zong Ziqi would likely end up in a vegetative state, even if he was ultimately saved.
After a moment of thought, Jiang Xu took out eight crystal-clear Middle Grade Spirit Stones from his Storage Bag. He shot them a pained glance before pulling out several Array Flags.
The Array Flags weren’t large, but they were covered in intricate Array Patterns.
Jiang Xu had crafted these Array Flags himself; they were one of the fruits of his research into the Array Dao during his three years of secluded cultivation.
Jiang Xu’s hands were a blur as he expertly formed a series of hand seals, meticulously placing the eight Middle Grade Spirit Stones one by one into the specific positions required by the Spirit Gathering Array Formation.
As the Array Flags were planted in the ground, the Spirit Stones activated. Pale blue halos of Spiritual Qi instantly surged from the stones, circling the Array before gradually converging in the center to form a powerful Spirit-Gathering Vortex.
Standing at its center, Jiang Xu felt the surging Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi rush into his body like a tidal wave. His face flushed crimson, and the pressure on his Dantian grew even more immense. Even his Cangmu Skill had to divert some of its power to help the Seed of Healing stabilize his Dantian.
The Seed of Healing spun like a freshly released gyroscope, rotating at incredible speed. The vast amount of Healing Magical Power it converted was then immediately channeled by Jiang Xu directly into Zong Ziqi’s body.
Zong Ziqi was now receiving four times the amount of Magical Power that Jiang Xu had been channeling at the beginning.
Zong Ziqi’s body was now completely enveloped in Jiang Xu’s Healing Magical Power, which began treating his ravaged system from the inside out.
His organs, the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, his acupoints, bones, and even his Skin and Flesh—all began to recover their vitality at an excruciatingly slow pace, nourished by Jiang Xu’s Healing Magical Power like a gentle spring rain on parched earth.
Though the process was arduous and slow, Zong Ziqi’s life signs had, at the very least, grown slightly stronger.
Jiang Xu was overjoyed, but he didn’t dare relax. He gritted his teeth and held on.
He knew this was a battle for life and death; the slightest lapse would mean all his efforts had been in vain.
Jiang Xu stared intently at Zong Ziqi’s face, his mind fixed on a single conviction: he had to pull him back from the Ghost Gate!
