Chapter 304: Chapter 281: Three-Layered Star Domain

Sun Long pulled precious magic tomes from his Storage Bag, one after another.

These included not only traditional tomes made from various types of paper.

There was bamboo paper, made by meticulously grinding tough bamboo strips into a pulp and then drying it.

There were also bark and hemp papers, created by pressing and sun-drying natural fibers.

He even had Xuan paper, made from a mixture of fine-textured, resin-rich blue sandalwood bark and high-quality Spirit Rice straw. This type of paper was particularly favored in the Cultivation Realm for its excellent ink absorption and long-lasting preservation qualities.

In addition, he had a collection of more unusual mediums, like beast hide paper tanned from the hides of ferocious Demon Beasts, and even the extremely rare and chilling human skin paper.

As Sun Long continued to unload his collection, it became clear it also included some highly unconventional formats.

For example, there were ancient scriptures carved on giant stone steles that soared into the clouds, the engraved characters like a scattering of stars, still clearly visible after weathering countless storms.

Additionally, there were Golden Foil Scripture Scrolls crafted from thin sheets of pure gold, shimmering with a divine and solemn light;

and various styles of Jade Scrolls, exquisite and translucent, the information sealed within them profound and unfathomable.

Not only that, but Sun Long’s collection even included murals peeled from the walls of ancient ruins or Secret Realm caves.

Sun Long was in the middle of hauling everything out when he suddenly stopped. Jiang Xu thought he had finally finished, but instead, Sun Long glanced around and frowned.

"The Third Elder’s Auspicious Clouds Magical Artifact is a bit too small. There’s not enough room. Brother, hurry and store these few dozen magic techniques. I’ve still got over seven hundred more in my Storage Bag to pull out!"

After saying this, Sun Long grew dejected.

"The other three hundred-plus magic techniques... I’ve only memorized them. I haven’t written them down."

"Sigh, I suppose I’ll have to write them all out soon, or I won’t be able to hand them over to you in time."

...

After that, Jiang Xu worked without a break, packing all the magic techniques into his Storage Bag.

Fortunately, his current Storage Bag was one he had carefully chosen for having the largest capacity.

It was roughly the size of a sports field.

Otherwise, there was no way it could have held so much.

As Jiang Xu and Sun Long bustled about, Sun Zixuan gazed at the hazy Sound Insulation Shield, the scene Sun Fan had just described replaying in her mind.

’She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was very strange about Sun Fan.’

She had seen Sun Fan around the clan before.

With her sharp eye for detail, and her curiosity about his mother, she had paid special attention to him.

’There was something off about him now compared to the person he used to be.’

Of course, she couldn’t remember how long it had been since she’d last seen him.

Besides, his mother had passed away just a few days ago. That must have been a huge blow to him, which likely explained some of the change.

Still, Sun Zixuan felt there was an indescribable strangeness about him.

This small doubt was not something she wanted to discuss with her grandmother.

She was sure her grandmother would just say she was being overly sensitive and making a mountain out of a molehill.

Her grandmother might even assume she was only acting this way because she had feelings for Sun Fan.

It had happened many times before.

Sun Zixuan glanced at her grandmother and sighed inwardly.

’Her grandmother was wonderful in every respect.’

She doted on her, stood up for her in every matter, and whenever she saw Zixuan getting restless from being cooped up in the Immortal City, she would find ways to take her out for a breath of fresh air.

There was just one problem: she was far too eager to hold a great-grandchild.

Unfortunately, her grandmother only had one child—Zixuan’s father.

Her father, disappointingly, had only managed to have one child in all these years: Sun Zixuan.

This drove her grandmother to distraction. All she thought about day in and day out was recruiting a live-in son-in-law to continue their family line.

While Sun Zixuan could understand her grandmother’s feelings, that didn’t mean she was willing to choose her own cultivation partner so hastily.

Even her grandmother’s suggestion that she could take several live-in husbands was a non-starter. Polyandry was out of the question.

Polyandry and polygyny were both common within the Sun Clan,

but in her heart, Sun Zixuan scoffed at the idea. She simply couldn’t comprehend it.

In her view, cultivation partners should be like intertwined branches, a pair of birds flying wing to wing.

’If one bird suddenly grew an extra wing, how was the pair supposed to fly?’

’In circles?’

...

Jiang Xu hadn’t even finished storing all the magic techniques when the Third Elder’s voice rang out.

"We’ve arrived at the Greed Wolf Arena. Everyone get ready."

Jiang Xu’s heart stirred.

’We’re here?’

He looked up, his gaze turning forward.

Before him unfolded a magnificent, sprawling complex of buildings. It was the legendary Greed Wolf Arena.

It sat in the center of a vast plain, like a slumbering behemoth.

The arena’s perimeter was surrounded by sturdy, weathered stone walls, on which were carved intricate star maps and the legendary stories of countless heroic warriors.

The massive main building resembled a Greed Wolf spreading its wings to fly, its roofline sharp and aggressive, echoing the Greed Wolf’s ambitious nature. Four tall towers stood at the arena’s four corners, gripping the earth like wolf claws and declaring its inviolable authority.

The huge, circular field at the center of the arena was paved with carefully polished sand and gravel. All around it, densely packed tiers of seating rose layer upon layer, reaching toward the clouds. A single glance revealed a sea of bobbing heads, a crowd large enough to hold over a hundred thousand spectators.

Banners and flags fluttered around the arena, and the faint sounds of drums and music drifted over, accentuating the palpable air of battle.

Sun Long couldn’t have been more familiar with the gladiatorial arena.
