Chapter 145: Ch 145- Preliminary Round (2) [Bonus]

  • Next Chapter

As soon as Qin Jiang’s voice fell, the atmosphere in the wilderness changed.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Hundreds of figures rushed forward at full speed. Some headed deep into the forest, while others immediately spread out in different directions.

They only had one day.

If they wanted to qualify, they either had to find one of the ten flags or collect enough beast points and there was no time to waste.

Some participants decided to focus on hunting beasts first. They planned to collect as many points as possible and if they came across someone with flag they might keep the flag too.

So even if they loose the flag later on, they can keep the points as second option to qualify.

While others immediately searched for the flags, knowing that obtaining one would guarantee their qualification.

High in the sky, dozens of drones moved through the wilderness and followed the participants. Their footage was quickly displayed on the four huge screens inside the Human Federation Tower.

David looked at the screens and smiled.

"We purposely didn’t hide the flags too deeply so finding them shouldn’t be too difficult. The real competition will begin after someone finds one."

The other Sovereign Realm cultivators laughed.

Mo Yuan, however, wasn’t paying much attention to the flags.

His eyes moved across the screens.

’I wonder if there is anyone worth copying.’

That was the real reason he was watching the tournament.

As the participants spread out, one young man suddenly shot into the forest at an incredible speed.

Whoosh!

The drone immediately followed him.

Bai Chuan raised his eyebrows.

"That guy is pretty fast."

"He should have a good speed talent or movement technique," Mu Bai said.

Another screen soon showed a different participant moving through the forest. He was also much faster than the others.

Within a short time, the participants were completely spread out across the wilderness.

Not long after, two young men arrived at the same location and a red flag was hanging from a tree only a few meters away.

The two men looked at each other.

"I was here first, get lost."

The other young man snorted.

"So what? Strength determines who gets it."

Both of them released their auras.

Mid Stage Origin Soul Realm.

Mo Yuan glanced at the screen.

’Mid Stage Origin Soul Realm. Unless they have some special talent or powerful technique, they won’t be able to do much.’

There were many Late Stage and Peak Stage Origin Soul Realm cultivators among the participants.

Without special talents or powerful techniques, fighting across a minor realm was extremely difficult.

The two men pulled out their swords.

"Since you want to fight, then come!"

The first man stepped forward and swung his sword.

Clang!

The second man raised his sword and blocked the attack.

The two swords collided, sending sparks flying.

The second man quickly pushed the sword away and swung toward his opponent’s shoulder.

The first man stepped backward and blocked.

Clang!

Another sword strike.

Then another.

Their movements were simple and there was no powerful sword intent or any special technique. They were simply using the sword techniques they had learned through years of cultivation.

Inside the Human Federation Tower, David smiled.

"Look, Mo Yuan, this is what an average cultivator looks like compared to you. The difference is like heaven and earth."

The other Sovereign Realm cultivators nodded.

Mo Yuan’s strength was already monstrous even among geniuses. Naturally, the difference between him and ordinary cultivators was even greater.

Mo Yuan could only laugh awkwardly.

"Senior, you’re overpraising me."

They turned their attention back to the screen and the battle continued for a few more exchanges.

Finally, the first man found an opening.

He stepped forward and swung his sword toward his opponent’s wrist.

The second man barely managed to block it but the force knocked his sword from his hand.

Clang!

His sword fell onto the ground.

Before he could react, the other man’s sword stopped in front of his neck.

"I win."

The young man looked at the sword in front of him and sighed.

"Fine, the flag is yours."

The winner lowered his sword and immediately walked toward the red flag.

He pulled it from the tree and attached it to his waist where everyone could clearly see it.

The moment he obtained the flag, several drones immediately focused on him but before the winner could even leave with the flag, another powerful aura suddenly spread through the area.

Peak Stage Origin Soul Realm!

The young man’s expression changed instantly. He turned around and saw a young woman walking out from the forest. She was holding a long glaive in her hand and her eyes were calm as she looked at the flag in his hand.

"Give me the flag and leave, it will save you some trouble."

The young man gritted his teeth. He had already fought for it and giving up now made him unwilling.

"There is no way I’m giving it to you!"

He suddenly pushed his foot against the ground and charged toward the girl, his sword flashing as he swung it toward her.

The girl simply scoffed.

In the next moment, her figure disappeared.

"What?"

The young man’s eyes widened. He quickly looked around, trying to find her.

Suddenly, he felt something cold against his neck and a glaive was already resting beside his throat.

The girl stood behind him without making a sound.

Cold sweat appeared on the young man’s forehead.

’If this were a real battlefield, I would already be dead.’

His legs slowly lost their strength and he lowered himself to the ground.

"I... give up."

He carefully handed the flag to the girl.

The girl took it without saying anything. She turned around and quickly disappeared into the forest.

Inside the Human Federation Tower, Mo Yuan’s eyes narrowed slightly.

’A glaive user?’

He had rarely seen cultivators using a glaive. Most people preferred swords, sabers or other easier-to-use weapons.

However, the girl had not displayed any obvious special talent. Her movement technique and combat experience seemed to be the main reason she had defeated the other cultivator so easily.

Mo Yuan watched her disappear before turning his attention back to the other screens.

Similar battles were happening throughout the wilderness.

Some cultivators fought over the flags, while others avoided the stronger participants and focused on hunting beasts for points.
