Chapter 178: Ch 178- Insane Absorption Speed

Fuse Devour and Absorption Talent?

’Yes.’

The moment Mo Yuan gave his confirmation, his vision blurred.

In the next instant, his consciousness returned to the familiar talent tree space.

Mo Yuan looked toward his talent tree.

The branches representing Devour and Absorption were slowly moving toward each other. The two branches began to intertwine and the energy around them became stronger and stronger.

Then, the two branches finally merged.

Boom!

A powerful sound echoed through the talent tree space.

Before Mo Yuan could carefully examine the result, his consciousness was suddenly thrown out.

His eyes opened and he found himself sitting inside the cave once again.

Mo Yuan immediately looked around.

"Did it work?"

There was a hint of nervousness in his voice, then he quickly summoned his talent panel.

A moment later, the information appeared before him.

Devour Talent: Ultimate Grade ★ [Active]

Mo Yuan stared at it for a few seconds.

There was no Absorption Talent anymore. Only Devour remained, with a strange star symbol behind its grade.

"Hmm..."

Mo Yuan rubbed his chin.

"So Absorption merged into Devour but the name is still Devour?"

He thought about it for a moment before shrugging.

"Whatever."

The important thing was that the fusion had succeeded and then his eyes then fell on the star behind the talent and then its Grade.

"It’s still Ultimate Grade."

Mo Yuan was not surprised.

It would be strange if simply fusing two Ultimate Grade talents could immediately create an Exceptional Grade talent.

Even so, the star clearly showed that his Devour Talent was no longer the same as before.

’Now, how much will my cultivation speed increase?’

Excitement appeared in Mo Yuan’s eyes.

Since entering the Secret Realm, he had upgraded Devour from Superior Grade to Ultimate Grade.

Now, he had fused it with another Ultimate Grade Absorption Talent.

The improvement should be significant.

Unfortunately, Mo Yuan had not cultivated even once after upgrading Devour to Ultimate Grade.

Therefore, he had no idea how much the Ultimate Grade Devour Talent alone had improved his cultivation speed, let alone how much the fusion had added.

’I’ll test it later.’

Mo Yuan suppressed his curiosity, there was no need to rush.

He still had one more Talent Fusion available.

’Which talent should I fuse next?’

Mo Yuan opened his talent panel and carefully looked through his abilities.

His eyes soon stopped on one particular talent.

Comprehension Talent: Superior Grade

Mo Yuan stared at it for a while.

’Hmm... Should I fuse this with my Exceptional Grade Enlightenment Talent?’

It was obvious that Enlightenment and Comprehension were closely related.

Both could help him understand cultivation techniques, martial techniques, laws and other profound concepts.

If he fused the two, the result could be extremely powerful but another thought soon appeared in his mind.

’Or should I upgrade Comprehension to Ultimate Grade first?’

Mo Yuan still had ten litres of Earth Heart Nectar remaining.

If he upgraded it first, he would be fusing Exceptional Grade and Ultimate Grade Talents.

The result should naturally be better.

"There is no need to think too much."

Mo Yuan quickly made his decision.

"I’ll upgrade it first, then I’ll fuse them."

He took out the container holding the remaining Earth Heart Nectar.

Mo Yuan opened it and began drinking.

As soon as the Earth Heart Nectar entered his body, its powerful energy spread through his entire body before rushing toward his mind.

The familiar sensation appeared again.

His consciousness was pulled into the talent tree space.

Mo Yuan looked at the familiar surroundings and could not help but chuckle.

"I’m coming here again and again."

He shook his head and directed the energy toward his Comprehension Talent.

The branch representing Comprehension immediately began absorbing the energy.

This time, Mo Yuan did not even need to consume much.

After consuming around three liters of Earth Heart Nectar, he could already feel that the energy was enough.

"That’s enough."

Mo Yuan stopped immediately.

He stored the remaining Earth Heart Nectar back into his storage space and then the upgrade process began.

A moment later, pain suddenly spread throughout his body.

Mo Yuan gritted his teeth.

Compared to the pain from some of his previous talent upgrades, this pain was not particularly strong.

He silently endured it and after a short while, the pain gradually disappeared.

Mo Yuan opened his eyes.

"Finally."

He immediately summoned his talent panel and his eyes lit up when he saw the result.

Comprehension Talent: Ultimate Grade

"Good."

Mo Yuan smiled.

"Now I can finally fuse these two."

Mo Yuan did not waste any time and he gave mental command to fuse both of the talents.

Fuse Enlightenment and Comprehension Talent?

’Yes.’

The moment Mo Yuan confirmed it, his consciousness was once again pulled into the familiar talent tree space.

Mo Yuan looked toward the two branches.

The branch representing his Exceptional Grade Enlightenment Talent was slightly thicker than the Ultimate Grade Comprehension Talent branch.

The two branches slowly moved toward each other.

Golden light began flowing between them as they gradually merged.

Then...

Boom!

A powerful sound echoed through the talent tree space.

Before Mo Yuan could inspect the result, his consciousness was once again pulled back into his body.

He opened his eyes inside the cave and he noticed something strange.

His thoughts felt faster and his mind felt clearer.

Even before checking his talent panel, he could already feel the change.

Mo Yuan immediately summoned his talent panel.

Enlightenment Talent: Exceptional Grade ★ [Passive]

Just like the Devour Talent, a star had appeared behind the talent’s grade.

Mo Yuan stared at it for a moment before smiling.

"All done."

He took a deep breath.

After entering the Secret Realm, he had set several goals for himself.

Now, he had completed almost all of them.

He had obtained a large number of Primordial Qi Stones, he had upgraded his Copy and Paste Talent to the next level.

He had unlocked Talent Fusion and he had already used Talent Fusion twice and successfully merged Devour with Absorption and Enlightenment with Comprehension.

Not only had he obtained several cultivation resources.

"This trip was worth it."

Mo Yuan could not help but smile and now that the upgrades were finished, he naturally wanted to know exactly how much they have changed.

"Which one should I test first?"

Mo Yuan thought for a moment.

"Let’s check Devour first."

He was especially curious about his cultivation speed.

"I want to see how fast I can cultivate now."

Mo Yuan immediately dug a large hole in the ground and then he took out a large amount of beast blood from his storage space and poured it into the hole until it was almost full.

The thick smell of blood spread through the area, then Mo Yuan then stepped inside and submerged his body in the beast blood.

At the same time, he activated his Body Morphing Talent and countless mouths immediately appeared across his entire body.

He closed his eyes and began absorbing the beast blood.

The blood around him rapidly flowed toward his body.

Two minutes passed.

Mo Yuan suddenly opened his eyes.

He immediately deactivated his Body Morphing Talent, causing the countless mouths covering his body to disappear.

"Just what the fuck..."

Shock filled Mo Yuan’s eyes.

He had expected his absorption speed to increase after fusing Devour and Absorption but he had never expected it to increase this much.

"Five times!"

His voice contained clear disbelief.

"The absorption speed increased by five times!"

Mo Yuan stared at the remaining beast blood.

Previously, he could absorb one pit of Beast Blood in five days but now that his absorption speed has increased five times.

That meant he could absorb an entire pit like this every day.

"Five times..."

Mo Yuan took a deep breath.

"This is seriously crazy."

His cultivation speed had increased far beyond what he had expected and beast blood was only his most ordinary cultivation resource.

Mo Yuan still had many treasures in his storage space that could increase his cultivation speed.

"Then how fast will my cultivation become after using all those treasures?"

Mo Yuan’s eyes shone.

"If I cultivate properly after leaving this place, I should at least be able to reach the Peak Origin Lord Realm before arriving at the Holy Base."

A smile appeared on his face.

As for reaching the Sovereign Realm...

Mo Yuan was not certain as the Sovereign Realm was a completely different level.

Mo Yuan stepped out of the pit and then he stored all the remaining beast blood inside his storage space.

He then looked at his hands.

"Now..."

A hint of excitement appeared in his eyes.

"It’s time to test my other fused talent."

His newly fused Enlightenment Talent.

Mo Yuan was especially curious about how much his comprehension ability had improved.

He summoned his saber and held it firmly in his hand.

"Let’s see how fast I can comprehend Boundless Saber Art now."

He took a deep breath and then he raised his saber.

The next moment, Mo Yuan began practicing Boundless Saber Art.
