I Am Your Natural Enemy
Chapter 1283: Two Kowtows, Out of Control (5k)_3
Gan Tang put down the book, carefully sensing for any anomalies, and found none.
The feeling was so real, just like reality.
She paused for a moment, then stood up and left the Zombie Cave.
Gan Tang descended from the sky, landing in the courtyard of the Grand Uncle Master.
“Has something happened to Wen Yan?”
“No, he’s home. There was a bit of trouble before, but he’s back now.”
“I just… it seems I went to another place.”
“Don’t say it, don’t mention it lightly.” The Grand Uncle Master stopped Gan Tang from continuing, as he already knew what had happened from her words. Yet, he was puzzled; could zombies also fall into an Ancient Dream?
“I understand.” Gan Tang increasingly realized why her sister had asked her to finish reading those books; the greater the power, the more severe the consequences when mistakes are made.
The Grand Uncle Master was about to say more, but Gan Tang had already soared skyward and vanished.
Shortly thereafter, a squad of Great Zombies appeared, two of them carrying a stone coffin one after the other.
The Grand Uncle Master glanced at the person inside the stone coffin, feeling speechless.
He had wanted to say that one shouldn’t mention it because it’s something you naturally enter and leave. It shouldn’t be a bad thing, so don’t speak recklessly.
Don’t say, but you might try doing something.
Clearly, Gan Tang was cautious, fearing that her direct involvement might lead to adverse outcomes.
So now Gan Tang had tossed out the most suitable person to handle this matter.
The Grand Uncle Master looked at the person in the stone coffin; this fellow can’t stay awake all the time, is he truly suitable for anything?
The point isn’t this, but whether the Scorching Sun Department is prepared.
The Grand Uncle Master waved his hand, signaling the squad of Great Zombies to halt.
The leading Great Zombie showed a troubled expression.
“Mountain Master, don’t make things difficult for us simple folks; our minds are zombie-like. This is the lady’s command. If Wen Yan is in trouble, we must go.”
“I didn’t say not to go, wait a moment, I’ll make a call.”
The Grand Uncle Master, helpless, took out his phone and dialed the General Director.
“Zombie Cave wants to expel someone, I can’t persuade them…”
“When they’re out, they’re out, as long as they can be active.”
“Movement is possible, but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. This fellow’s state is a bit off.”
“No matter.”
After hanging up the call, the Grand Uncle Master also felt something was odd.
From the moment the Scorching Sun Department hadn’t picked a new Minister for Nanwu County, things became strange.
The General Director of the Scorching Sun Department knew the situation with Cai Heizi, yet now Cai Heizi is being sent out.
No matter what the Scorching Sun Department thinks, outsiders see it as non-living entities taking on significant leadership roles within the department.
It’s unprecedented, groundbreaking.
The Scorching Sun Department dares to do this?
The Grand Uncle Master was unaware of many events that transpired today, but since the Scorching Sun Department regards it as no issue, neither does he.
He hopes more reliable people can lend a hand.
Though Cai Heizi is often a nuisance, when doing serious work, especially for their side, he’s indeed reliable.
Seeing the Grand Uncle Master nod, a Great Zombie lifted the coffin lid with one hand and covered the stone coffin, carrying it away.
…
In the underground fortress, Inverted Triangle Eyes and Flower Hair sat facing each other, Flower Hair sighed deeply.
“Don’t let things turn into covering one mistake by creating a bigger one. In an attempt to erase this bigger mistake, don’t create an even bigger loophole. Don’t let the situation turn into one wrong move ruining everything.”
“Don’t you understand yet!” Inverted Triangle Eyes said with a stern expression, staring intently at Flower Hair with a determined tone.
“Wen Yan is the biggest trouble, the greatest hindrance. Haven’t you seen yet?
This trouble seems not that significant now.
But he’s truly worth the enormous price to get rid of.
He can fall into dreams not meant for him.
Moreover, he can come out from them.
Don’t you know what this signifies?
Don’t you know he’s the contemporary Scorching Sun?
The Scorching Sun Department has painstakingly hidden this information; you can’t claim to have forgotten, unaware!
He’s completely different from the previous Scorching Sun.
We don’t even know to what stage his Scorching Sun has reached, why he can return!
All records, all existing intelligence, none are applicable.
You know what this means.
This signifies complete loss of control.
We must resolve him at all costs first.”
Flower Hair looked at Inverted Triangle Eyes, eyes calm, and after a long pause, slowly said.
“Can you still distinguish between reality and dreams?”
“I don’t need to distinguish.” Inverted Triangle Eyes spoke with firm assurance, without a hint of hesitation.
Flower Hair shook his head, gently clapped, and the surroundings instantaneously transformed into a pavilion halfway up the mountain, where they sat facing each other, drinking tea and chatting.
Inverted Triangle Eyes’ eyelids twitched slightly; he quickly recalled how he arrived here.
Then, he remembered, after breakfast, he came here, and he had millet porridge, small dishes, and pickled cabbage buns for breakfast.
Indeed, it’s what he normally eats and enjoys.
He recalled again that he had eaten it once on Monday, and normally, he wouldn’t have eaten it again this week, but when he felt it necessary, he’d break the rule and eat it twice in the same week.
He quickly processed the information, roughly confirming that this place was reality, and what came before was false.
However, in the next moment, Flower Hair quietly looked at him.
“You, are losing control.”
“No, I’m not.”
“If you truly didn’t care and didn’t need to differentiate, then why are you trying to distinguish reality now?”
“Instinctual reaction, a matter of habit.”
“So, have you figured it out?”
“This is reality.”
As the words fell, he returned again to the underground structure.
“What about now?”
Inverted Triangle Eyes’ face froze; he instinctively recalled, pondered, judged, and concluded this as reality.
Flower Hair shook his head, standing up.
“If you’re not losing control, you wouldn’t be unable to differentiate. Stabilize yourself first, then discuss other matters.”
