Chapter 1907: Chapter 1028: Inspecting the World Rift_2
"I understand."
Lis nodded.
That place Lis certainly won’t go short-term; it’s likely to be the place all Divine beings are most concerned about.
But right now, Lis needs to first solve the current problems.
Lis pondered for a moment, making a decision in his heart.
After speaking with Adela, Lis didn’t hesitate, and with a swift movement, he transformed into a stream of light, charging alone towards the world rift spanning the horizon.
As Lis passed through the battlefield where the Abyss Blood Battle once raged, the once lush and verdant Elf Forest had already turned into a desolate wasteland, with a shocking sense of ruin enveloping the surroundings.
Simultaneously, under the influence of the distant mutations, the sky was no longer clear blue but was shrouded by layers of thick, dark gray fog.
Like a filthy, worn-out silk sheet closely covering the heavens and earth.
Lis surveyed the surroundings, every corner in sight exuding an aura of dead silence and desolation.
On the ground, there were large fissures of varying depth everywhere, remnants of violent space tearing were left within them.
Jagged rubble lay exposed, glowing with a blood-red sheen in the dim light.
Every inch of soil here retained the brutality and barrenness left by the great battle.
Thanks to his extreme mastery over Space Power, Lis’s perception far exceeded that of ordinary strongmen, and he clearly sensed every fluctuation of space within his vicinity.
Ordinary people could only see the scenes of celestial mutations, but he could peer into the primordial veins of space.
In Lis’s perception, space, usually stable and orderly, layer by layer, was like millions of neatly arranged, clearly defined white threads.
The spatial threads crisscrossed and orderly constructed the stable foundation of this world.
But at this moment, as he kept approaching the world rift, everything around was quietly undergoing terrifying mutations.
The closer he got to the rift traversing the heavens and earth, the more violent and bizarre the spatial fluctuations around became.
Originally stable and stretched spatial threads no longer operated according to established rules, seemingly controlled coarsely by an invisible giant hand, starting to twist and tangle crazily.
The orderly spatial vein completely shattered and chaotic, countless fine space fragments darted and collided freely in the air.
The space fragments emitted a faint burst that ordinary people couldn’t hear but was clearly audible to Lis’s senses.
The air turned viscous and sluggish, each spatial vibration stirred up visible black ripples.
Where the ripples flowed, the void slightly collapsed and warped, forcing light to bend, making the scene in front of him blurry, distorted, and wavering.
And a cold, frantic aura was infiltrating and spreading through the chaotic space gaps.
It belonged solely to the Endless Abyss, frantic and brutal, with a terrifying desire to devour all vitality, violently clashing and confronting Gaia World.
The collision of two completely different forces gave rise to fine spatial turbulence, rampaging freely in the air.
Lis’s mind was tense, keenly capturing the essence of this mutation.
The Endless Abyss was forcibly embedding a Different Plane, which shouldn’t exist here, into Gaia World with tyrannical, domineering power.
The boundless force of the Endless Abyss was like a vast ocean, tightly sustaining this forced planar integration.
Constantly smoothing out the space barriers between two planes, forcibly dissolving the separation on both sides, making two completely different spaces violently meld and piece together under tearing and compression.
Lis continued to advance steadily, getting closer and closer to the world rift on the horizon, the scene before him becoming increasingly stunning and eerie.
That gigantic rift spanning the ends of the heavens, like a hideous scar carved by a sharp blade on the dome, with bizarre halos of pitch-black and dark red intertwining around the edges.
The halos flowed, constantly shedding fine space debris, extinguishing into dots of void.
The rift traversed the sky and ground, invisible from beginning to end, isolating all vitality and order of this world.
Across the still-not-fully-transmitted void gap, Lis distinctly glimpsed the Abyss Plane opposite the rift.
It was a despairing land completely dominated by death, chaos, and brutality.
No sun, moon, stars, no sunlight or clouds, the entire sky was thick black like ink, with numerous dark-red bizarre clouds hovering at low altitudes.
The clouds roiled and surged, occasionally striking black spatial lightning, tearing the heavy night.
On the vast plain opposite the rift, the sight was extremely grim.
Countless Abyss Demon corpses piled layer upon layer, forming mountains that thoroughly covered the entire land, extending from the horizon at the feet to the sky’s end in sight.
All sorts of demon cadavers were in shattered ruins, some with torn bodies, exposed bone, others with shattered skulls, broken claws...
Viscous, pitch-black demon blood permeated the entire land, forming meandering blood rivers slowly flowing, glimmering with eerie hues under the dim light.
Where the blood flowed, not a blade of grass grew, the original land eroded by demon blood into pitch-black earth, emitting nauseating stench and the odor of decay entwined.
The sky filled with violent black mist lingered long over the plains, swirling slowly over the mountains of corpses and blood rivers.
Thin wisps of resentment and wrath rose from countless cadavers, converging into gray mist, shrouding the entire Abyss Plane.
In Lis’s eyes, the whole scene was solemn yet evil, exuding a sense of madness and eerie ritual.
This was clearly a grand sacrifice using the lives of millions of Abyss Demons as offerings, nurturing and driving the integration of two worlds with the demise and flesh of countless demons, laying the foundation for the Abyss Plane’s invasion.
The closer he got to the rift, the more pressing the oppression became, as if the weight of the entire world was pressing on Lis’s shoulders.
The Abyss’s wrathful aura in the air became richer, constantly washing over Lis’s soul.
An average Extraordinary Professional caught here would have their mind invaded by this violent chaotic aura, turning into a bloodthirsty mad puppet.
However, now Lis was able to ignore this corrosion.
As Lis reached the point not far from the world rift, his steps suddenly halted, his form completely frozen, unable to step forward even a single inch.
The short distance ahead seemed like an insurmountable chasm.
At this moment, the world rift was still not fully opened, with the space barriers between two worlds continuously colliding and dissolving.
And the sacrificial ritual on the opposite Abyss Plane was furiously accelerating the opening process at an imperceptible speed.
The spatial vibrations at the rift’s edge were increasingly intense, alternating between reality and illusion, with each fluctuation carrying terrifying power sufficient to tear space.
Layers of spatial turbulence sealed all paths forward; entering rashly would instantly shred even a Legendary Strongman, reducing him to nothing.
Lis focused his attention and scanned around, finding this region already empty, without any trace of a High-level Abyss Demon.
The Abyss Demons originally lurking around the rift, waiting to hunt living beings, had all evacuated this core area.
Possibly guided by some invisible will originating from Abyssal Origin, they voluntarily left here.
Perhaps instinctively fearing the crisis engulfing the entire world, they dared not linger here.
Not to mention demigod-level Abyss Demons enough to overturn the battle, even ordinary Legendary Demons had completely vanished.
The entire region was left with only stagnant breezes, chaotic void, and dense Abyss wrathful aura.
All High-level demons seemed to vanish into thin air, leaving only this wasteland ravaged by flames of war and shrouded in death, silently waiting for the moment of complete integration between two worlds.
Strange silence covered the surroundings, the more tranquil it was, the more surging it was concealed.
Lis stood amid the wild wind and turbulence, gazing at the hideous, terrifying world rift ahead, his heart’s vigilance and heaviness growing ever deeper.
