I Awakened The Ancient Vampire System
Chapter 192: Fall Of An Empire
Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Fall Of An Empire
The ritual began.
The Vampire Prince stood at the altar — robed in royal robe, his crimson eyes fixed on the stone coffin that held his father’s body. The coffin radiated residual power.
The Council of Twelve Elders surrounded the altar in a perfect circle. Each one stood with their hands raised, channeling mana into the formation carved into the floor. The runes blazed.
The palace was packed. Soldiers lined every wall. Nobility filled the galleries. Military commanders stood at attention. Thousands of eyes watched the ritual.
Lucian Noctis Vael lay flat against the stone of the palace spire.
Beside him, his generals lay in position. Twelve of them. His most trusted. Each one with a powerful cultivation. Each one carrying fifty years of hatred and loyalty in equal measure.
Below them, on the ground level, resistance fighters disguised as servants and soldiers waited at their posts. In the tunnels beneath the palace, demolition teams crouched beside charges that would sever the building’s foundations.
Lucian raised his hand.
He closed it.
The resistance attacked.
Explosions tore through the underground tunnels. BOOM-BOOM-BOOM! The palace floor buckled. Stone cracked. Soldiers stumbled. The Elders’ concentration faltered — the formation’s rhythm stuttering.
From the rooftops, twelve figures dropped into the chamber. From the ground level, disguised fighters shed their cloaks and drew weapons. From every direction — above, below, beside — the resistance struck.
Chaos erupted.
Lucian descended slowly.
His aura exploded. Soldiers dropped to their knees. Nobility screamed. The air itself bent under the weight.
"What —" an Elder started.
"Devouring Void."
Lucian’s hand opened. A sphere of absolute blackness materialized in his palm — a void that consumed everything in its path. The first soldier to reach him swung a blade. The blade entered the void and ceased to exist. The soldier’s arm followed. His scream lasted half a second before the void consumed that too.
Lucian walked forward.
Fire — devoured from a fallen fire mage years ago — erupted from his left hand. A wall of flame swept across the chamber, engulfing soldiers. FWOOOOM. Their screams were brief.
Frost — devoured from an ice cultivator on a distant moon — poured from his right. The floor beneath the charging infantry froze solid in an instant. CRRRK. Their legs locked. Their bodies crystallized.
Lightning — devoured from a storm mage on the northern frontier — crackled across his body and discharged in a fork that struck eight soldiers simultaneously. BZZZT-CRACK! They dropped. Smoking.
Water — devoured from a sea commander on an ocean world — surged from the ground in a tidal wave that swept through the chamber, carrying soldiers off their feet and slamming them into walls. WHOOSH.
Then Devour. The void expanded — pulling mana from every attack the remaining soldiers threw at him. Fireballs dissolved. Ice spears evaporated.
Lucian grew stronger with every second.
"STOP HIM!" the Vampire Prince screamed from the altar.
The Council of Twelve Elders broke formation. Six of them charged Lucian. The other six moved to protect the Prince.
Lucian’s generals intercepted.
The battle that followed destroyed the chamber. Pillars and walls collapsed. The floor split into chasms. Soldiers on both sides were caught in the crossfire — crushed by debris, caught in stray spells, disintegrated by overlapping areas of effect.
Lucian engaged three Elders simultaneously. His body moved between different abilitie. An Elder’s shadow attack dissolved in the void. Another’s blood attacks were devoured and converted into mana that fueled Lucian’s next strike.
He killed the first Elder with a void spear through the chest. SHLIKT. The Elder’s body collapsed inward — consumed from the inside out, leaving a hollow husk.
The second Elder fell to a combination of frost and fire.
The third Elder lasted longer. His attacks were powerful enough to crack the chamber’s foundation. But Lucian’s Devouring Void consumed everything. The Elder became weakened as the fight continued while Lucian was been strengthened. The gap widened.
Lucian drove his hand through the Elder’s chest and devoured his heart. The Elder’s eyes went wide.
Three Elders dead. The remaining three — heavily injured — were left to his generals.
Lucian walked toward the altar.
The Vampire Prince stood in his path.
The Prince was powerful. Nearly as powerful as Lucian — his bloodline was the strongest on the planet, his cultivation refined through centuries of royal training. His aura was dark gold — the signature of the royal bloodline.
"You dare." The Prince’s voice was ice. "You dare defile my father’s ritual."
Lucian’s crimson eyes were cold. "Your father’s power was never yours to inherit. Now fuck off."
The Prince attacked. His fist — coated in dark gold energy — screamed toward Lucian’s skull. Lucian caught it. The impact created a shockwave that flattened the altar’s surroundings. BOOM. Cracks spread through the floor.
"Devour."
The void activated through Lucian’s palm. The Prince’s dark gold energy — centuries of accumulated royal power — began draining. The Prince’s eyes widened. He ripped his fist free and leaped backward.
"You —"
Lucian pressed forward. They clashed — fist against fist, ability against ability. The Prince fired a beam of concentrated energy. Lucian consumed it. The Prince created a construct — a golden serpent that lunged at Lucian with great speed injuring him before he could devour. The Prince unleashed his bloodline’s ultimate technique — a domain of absolute authority that pressed down on everything within fifty meters.
Lucian then created a domain of his own that expanded into the surroundings devouring the Prince’s own domain.
The fight was brutal. The Prince was skilled — more skilled than any opponent Lucian had faced in fifty years of war. His technique was refined. His experience was vast.
But Lucian was a walking accumulation of stolen strength. And the Prince — despite his bloodline — couldn’t match that depth.
Lucian’s void spear materialized — dark, condensed, humming with consumed power. He drove it through the Prince’s shoulder. SHLIKT. The Prince screamed. Dark chains erupted from the spear’s shaft, wrapping around the Prince’s body, pinning him to the chamber wall.
The Prince struggled.
Lucian turned to the altar.
He reached into the coffin. His hand pressed against the King’s chest.
His fingers closed around something.
He pulled.
A small crystalline object that pulsed with light materialized in his hand. The source of the King’s strength. The reason he had been so powerful — not because of his bloodline alone, but because this thing had bonded with him.
The King had only received a fraction of the its’s benefits. The bond was incomplete.
Lucian pressed the core against his own chest.
The bond was instantaneous.
The object activated for the first time. Power flooded through Lucian as his cultivation skyrocketed. His body transformed. His bloodline — a unique mutation born of human and vampire — resonated with the object’s frequency. The bond was complete.
His power exploded. The chamber shook. The remaining walls cracked. The ceiling fractured. The Elders still fighting his generals stumbled under the pressure. Soldiers fainted. The Prince, chained to the wall, stared with wide eyes.
"It’s mine," Lucian whispered. "All of it."
A blade entered his back.
The steel slid between his rib, aimed directly at his heart. The pain was extraordinary.
Lucian’s eyes went wide. His body locked. The power he just gained flickered — disrupted by the toxin invading his blood.
He turned his head.
Clovis Draven stood behind him. His closest companion. His most trusted lieutenant. The man who had stood beside him for thirty years — through every battle, every campaign, every secret meeting of the resistance. The man Lucian trusted more than any living being.
Clovis’s hand was still on the blade. His expression was calm.
"WHY??"
