Chapter 694: Full of Fantasies About Going Ashore

Huo Liran gritted her teeth. If they couldn’t get out of these waters, she wouldn’t be done with that woman and the Jiang family.

"Fourth Sister." Huo Feng came down from the second deck.

"Eldest Brother, they actually let that woman get away! If sailing straight leads to the coast, she should be heading there too. But I saw her boat—it’s not going straight. She was obviously lying to us," Huo Liran said resentfully.

"Liran, how she chooses to sail is none of our business."

"What do you mean, ’none of our business’? She’s the one who gave us the directions; she should be guiding us."

"She gave directions. You could have chosen not to trust them. But forcing her to guide you? By what right?" Huo Feng’s voice was quiet.

"Liran, we shouldn’t have brought you on this trip."

"Eldest Brother, what did I do wrong?" Huo Liran asked, her face full of defiance.

"At home, you’re domineering and unreasonable. Now that we’re out, you still don’t know how to restrain yourself. People out in the world won’t coddle you. Acting like this, you’re bound to get into serious trouble sooner or later." Huo Feng’s expression was stern.

Having been scolded, Huo Liran felt a sting in her nose. She pouted and yelled defiantly, "So what if I cause trouble? If I get into trouble, Second Uncle will help me. You’re not like him, Eldest Brother—all you do is lecture!"

"Liran."

Tears welled up in Huo Liran’s eyes. Not wanting to listen to him ramble on, she turned and ran off, feeling utterly wronged.

Seeing this, Huo Feng shook his head helplessly. ’When will she ever grow up? It’s all Father’s and Second Uncle’s fault for spoiling her rotten. She’s only suited to staying at home.’

’There’s always someone more capable out in the world. Sooner or later, she’ll live to regret this.’

Huo Feng’s gaze drifted into the distance. Miss Ye’s ship was no longer visible on the vast ocean. He had been secretly observing her for the past two days and had even been aboard her vessel once.

’The ship’s design allowed it to sail without a crew. He’d never even heard of such a mechanism.’

The seawater surged to either side as the ship was lifted up from below. A gigantic mouth let out a muffled rumble of dissatisfaction.

"You couldn’t have gone off to play nearby for a bit?" She hadn’t expected him to stay obediently under the boat for two whole days.

’I was afraid they’d bully you. If they had made a single move, I would have flipped their boat and eaten them all in one gulp,’ Dapao said with conviction.

"So you were that worried about me."

’Of course! You said humans are dangerous. Once you’re on shore, you’ll be surrounded by them. I’m really worried. Why don’t you just not go ashore?’

"Dapao, have you forgotten? I’m human, too."

’You’re different.’

"How am I different?"

’You just are. Anyway, I’m scared they’ll bully you. Are you really not going to consider taking me ashore?’ Dapao harbored many fantasies about life on land.

"I’m not considering it."

’Not even for a few days?’

"No. You’re too big. You’d die for sure if you went ashore..." Ye Qianning’s expression faltered for a moment, and she looked at Dapao in the water. "You can’t just sneak ashore on your own."

Dapao fell silent.

"Dapao, did you hear me? If you go ashore and get beached, no one will be able to save you."

Dapao made a muffled noise.

"Dapao." Ye Qianning hopped off the boat, walking over to his enormous eye and looking down into it.

’I get it, I get it.’ Dapao was terrified of getting his eye poked.

"So we have a deal. No more talk of going ashore. If you go back on your word, I won’t be your friend anymore."

Dapao grumbled and whined, but reluctantly agreed.
