Ye Qianning knew Dun Dun’s personality well. It had a wonderful temper and rarely made a sound, usually just staying quietly and obediently by someone’s side. For it to feel this wronged...

"Weren’t you two getting along perfectly fine? Did you have a fight?" Faced with two bickering little animals, she really couldn’t interfere too much. As tiny as these creatures were, they had one-track minds.

"Hmph." Pang Pang turned its head to the side, looking disgusted and arrogant. "Who’d want to play with such a timid and coy thing?"

Ye Qianning was speechless. She wondered what exactly had happened to warrant the use of the word ’coy’.

Dun Dun tightened its paws around Ye Qianning’s hand, still remaining completely silent.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. A knock sounded from outside the room. "Miss, are you awake?"

Ye Qianning patted Dun Dun’s head and answered, "What is it?"

"A Miss Huang has arrived at the Immortal Sea Building. She says she represents Loulan to negotiate the contract."

"Invite her to a private room. I’ll be right there." Ye Qianning had nearly forgotten about this matter. It was a good thing Dun Dun and Pang Pang had caused such a ruckus, otherwise she might have overslept.

"Yes, Miss."

Ye Qianning crouched down. "Do you want to go into the spatial dimension, or do you want to come outside with me to take a look?"

"Together," Dun Dun whispered.

"Alright, let go of me first. I’ll take you out after I wash up." After releasing its little paws, Dun Dun hopped onto the bed and laid down obediently.

Seeing this, Pang Pang was just about to jump up as well. However, just as it leapt, Ye Qianning grabbed it by the scruff of the neck. "You should go stay with Master for a few days to calm down."

"I won’t! I won’t!" Pang Pang protested.

"I think you’ve gotten a whole size rounder from staying in the spatial dimension recently. Go out and get some exercise." Giving it no room to resist, Ye Qianning tossed the little creature out the door.

Dun Dun waited, lying down like a good boy. Ye Qianning gave it an approving glance before heading off to wash up.

Back on the island, Dun Dun had no kind of its own and was extremely timid. Aside from birds, it had never interacted with other animals. The fact that it managed to play with a White Spirit was truly rare. She wondered how on earth they had ended up fighting.

After washing up, Ye Qianning waved to Dun Dun. It immediately stood up, hopped over to her feet, and stared up at her with its little bean-sized eyes.

"Let’s go." Once she finished dealing with the Loulan matters, she would ask what exactly was going on between these two. Tucking its paws in, Dun Dun’s tiny body trailed after Ye Qianning as they exited the room.

"Miss." Du Yi was standing at the door.

"Du Yi, is there something on your mind?"

Du Yi pursed his lips, wanting to ask her a question, yet hesitating to speak.

"Du Yi, I was the one who arranged for you to be by his side back then. Thank you for protecting him for all these years," Ye Qianning said first, as if she already knew what he was thinking.

Astonishment flashed through Du Yi’s eyes.

"If you want to come back, you can do so at any time."

A hint of joy seeped into Du Yi’s surprised eyes, but then he seemed to think of something else, and a trace of panic crossed his face.

"You don’t need to worry about my father’s side. I trust my own judgment." Ye Qianning answered his unspoken doubt. She had never once doubted their loyalty.

Filled with emotion, Du Yi’s eyes instantly reddened. He bent his knees and knelt heavily on the ground. "Miss, this subordinate deserves death. I..."

He had actually begun to doubt her. While she had believed in him all along, he had dared to harbor suspicions.

"Stand up. Even if you stay by Sang Zhi’s side, my trust in you will not diminish one bit—because I trust him, too." Ye Qianning’s gaze was bright and resolute. That kind of confidence carried an innate, radiant light.

In this moment, Du Yi finally understood why the Eighth Prince harbored such a deep obsession—because she was worth it. Even though ten years had passed, her heart remained as true to the Eighth Prince as it had been on day one.

He felt that being able to meet a master like her meant he hadn’t lived this life in vain.
