Chapter 400: SVOP: Chapter 400

In this world, there are more than two hundred nations — and among them, the rulers of some possess such overwhelming strength that their fame as "Kings" far surpasses the reputation of their countries themselves.

Take Emporio Ivankov, the Queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom, for example.

Or Rinsen, the King of Destruction, ruler of the Kingdom of Armedia.

Then there are the pirate nations — lands unaffiliated with the World Government — which also boast many powerful figures.

Hearing the title, Vladimir raised an eyebrow. "King of Destruction? Call yourself whatever you like — hand over the fruits."

Rinsen remained composed despite the harsh tone.

"King of Heroes, the auction has already ended. It is far too late to gather fruits now. Why not join forces instead? Let us go after the blueprint first. It is in the hands of Ivankov — and once we obtain it, I am willing to share ownership with you."

"Hahaha! You insolent wretch... you dare suggest an alliance with me?"

Vladimir scoffed dismissively. "That Pluton blueprint you all crave is nothing more than trash in my eyes. Spare me your empty words — unless you wish to witness the true end of the world, hand over the fruits immediately."

To fully max out Gilgamesh to Five-Star, he needed at least forty fruits. Right now, he only had eleven — not even enough to reach Four-Star.

Rinsen’s expression turned grim. His personal guards immediately stepped forward, positioning themselves protectively in front of him.

"If the King of Heroes has no interest in cooperation, I shall not press the matter. We are leaving."

Biting back his anger, he turned to depart.

If not for the vast, bottomless chasm splitting the land — if not for the fact that the entire Sabaody Archipelago had just been torn in two — he would have insisted on testing this King of Heroes’ strength right then and there.

"Did I give you permission to leave?"

Vladimir’s gaze sharpened. He raised his hand, ready to teach them a lesson.

But just then, a Marine Vice Admiral spoke out in a loud, clear voice:

"King of Heroes... what is your connection to Phantom?"

This man was named Caesar — in his thirties, a cigar clamped between his teeth, his hair slicked back sharply. He held the rank of Vice Admiral in Marine Headquarters.

"From what I know, the only organization that would go to such extremes to hoard Devil Fruits is the mysterious Phantom. What is your relationship with them?"

He spoke with clear logic and insight. "Furthermore... Phantom has a high-ranking officer known as the King of Knights. Are you acquainted with him?"

"The King of Knights... Arthur?"

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Vladimir’s lips as he turned his gaze toward the Vice Admiral. "I know him very well."

Hearing this, Caesar’s expression shifted. "So you too are an officer of Phantom — or perhaps even one of their Supreme Rulers? You have broken your word! It was agreed that you would not take action outside District 1!"

"Who told you I belong to Phantom?"

Vladimir snorted, his patience finally running thin. These fools would only understand when it was too late.

"Marines... you have successfully exhausted my patience. Since none of you are willing to hand over your fruits willingly..."

As the words left his mouth, countless golden portals began to appear in the air above his head.

From within them, magnificent swords and holy blades emerged one after another.

Excalibur, Durandal, Dragon Blood Kuniitsu, Frostmourne, Balmung, Joyeuse...

Each and every one was a legendary treasure capable of sparking wars and bloodshed across nations. Now they appeared all at once, filling the sky.

Sadly, few among the crowd recognized more than three of them — Excalibur, Dragon Blood Kuniitsu, and Frostmourne.

Yet even those three were enough to send chills down everyone’s spine.

"Frostmourne! The sword of the Ruler of Earth — the Lich King!"

"And that is Dragon Blood Kuniitsu — one of the twelve Supreme Grade Swords, an artifact beyond price!"

"And that one belongs to the King of Knights...!"

Gasps of shock rippled through the crowd. They stared in awe, as if beggars had suddenly come face to face with the richest king in existence.

Across the great chasm, standing upon the shoulder of a giant, a beautiful young girl’s eyes lit up in excitement.

"So many swords... every single one is extraordinary. Is this madman planning to throw them all like spears?!"

She felt her heart race, fully aware of just how terrifying this being was. She was already considering making a run for it — but then her eyes sparkled with a sudden idea.

She raised her voice loud and clear, cutting through the murmurs of the crowd:

"Honorable King of Heroes, Gilgamesh! I am Rei Delgado! Are you seeking Devil Fruits?"

Her bright voice instantly drew every gaze toward her.

Vladimir glanced in her direction.

Seeing his attention, Rei smiled sweetly. "Our Delgado Clan possesses the fruits you desire."

"Oh? And are you going to give them to me?"

"Of course! I will gladly offer you one fruit as a gift!" Rei nodded firmly.

"Our clan is also searching for the Pluton blueprint. If the King of Heroes would lend us his strength, we shall reward you generously with twenty fruits once it is in our hands!"

Twenty fruits? That was hardly worth his effort.

Vladimir scoffed inwardly. Why waste time on bargains when he could simply take them all by force?

But then a better idea struck him.

"Very well. Though the blueprint itself holds no value to me, since you show such sincerity... I suppose I can lend you a hand."

Rei and the rest of the Delgado Clan froze, stunned.

"I only spoke on a whim... I never expected you to actually agree. Surely a being of your stature would not deceive us, would you?" Rei blinked curiously.

"I always keep my word."

Vladimir remained stern and expressionless.

At this, the faces of all the other factions darkened.

If this monster-like warrior joined forces with the Delgado Clan, their chances of claiming the blueprint just dropped to almost nothing.

Seeing this, others quickly shouted out offers of their own.

"King of Heroes! We will give you twenty-one fruits — join us instead!"

"No! We can offer twenty-four!"

Before long, everyone was trying to outbid each other. Even Vice Admiral Caesar could no longer stay silent.

"King of Heroes! Please forgive my earlier rudeness! The Marines are willing to hire you. Do not worry about fruits — we can provide you with as many as you desire!"

"Get lost."

Vladimir swept his gaze over them all and uttered a single cold word.

He might lend his strength to anyone else — but never to the Marines.
