I Break through Crazily
Chapter 388: Storming Wolf Fighting Slope
‘Could it be them? The Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps?’
‘That’s it. It has to be them!’
They had sent two Battle King Level Martial Artists to lead an ambush against Tang Yi, but he ended up killing them instead.
Since that mission failed, they must have sent even stronger Martial Artists for revenge this time, and the Tang Family suffered a terrible disaster as a result!
And the person those men in black were searching for had to be Tang Yi!
Tang Yi never imagined that the trouble he’d stirred up would drag down the entire Tang Family. Guilt flooded his heart.
But alongside the guilt was a boundless rage and indignation.
His family, his clansmen, his loved ones and friends… someone actually dared to touch them. They were courting death!
Every dragon has a reverse scale that cannot be touched. The Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps had just touched Tang Yi’s!
“Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps! I will not rest until you are annihilated!”
Tang Yi gritted his teeth, forcing the words out from between them.
His eyes burned with fury. He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his palms, a testament to the depth of his hatred for the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps!
“DING! The Player has received a phased main quest: Find the murderers of the Tang Family (1). This quest has three phases. You must complete the current phase to proceed to the next.”
The prompt echoed in Tang Yi’s mind, informing him that he had received a main quest.
In the past, receiving a quest would have made Tang Yi excited and happy. But now, he felt no joy or excitement at all—only overwhelming guilt.
After all, this quest had been triggered by his own actions, bought with the lives of several hundred members of the Tang Family. How could Tang Yi possibly be happy or excited about that?
Having deduced that the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps was responsible, Tang Yi stopped pressing the Martial Artists of Fengyue City. He spoke a few more words with them, asking them to help give the Tang Family Members a proper burial, and then promptly left the Tang Clan estate.
After leaving the Tang estate, Tang Yi went to the residence of the Fengyue City West Mansion Branch to investigate. He found the entire place deserted, with the faint, cloying scent of blood hanging in the air.
Although someone had already come to clean up and there were no bodies on the ground, he could still see the faint, unwashed bloodstains in the cracks of the floorboards, the seams of the doors, and other small crevices.
The fate of the Fengyue City West Mansion Branch was likely just as the patriarchs of the Noble Families had described. An unimaginable tragedy had also occurred here.
‘I wonder how Master Zhu is doing.’
Tang Yi thought to himself.
In Tang Yi’s eyes, although Master Zhu hadn’t accomplished anything remarkable, he was at least a decent person. Even back when Tang Yi was considered useless, Master Zhu had never made things difficult for him or the Tang Family. For him to suffer such a calamity was a great injustice.
This also made Tang Yi feel that he had deeply wronged Master Zhu.
Fortunately, Master Zhu’s daughter, Zhu Yin, had gone to the West Mansion and escaped the catastrophe, leaving a descendant for the Zhu Family. Otherwise, Tang Yi’s guilt would have been even greater.
After inspecting the Fengyue City West Mansion Branch, Tang Yi didn’t linger. He immediately left Fengyue City without a moment’s rest and headed for Blue Moon City!
Blue Moon City was the headquarters of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps.
The Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps was a famous Mercenary Corps in the Western Domain. One only had to ask around a little to find out where its lair was.
Therefore, Tang Yi didn’t need to waste any effort searching for them. As soon as he knew the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps was behind the attack, he immediately set out to get his revenge!
The Western Domain was divided into four major regions: East, West, South, and North.
Fengyue City was in the North District, while Blue Moon City was in the East District. The two regions were hundreds of thousands of miles apart, an immense distance. It took Tang Yi about five days to travel from Fengyue City to Blue Moon City in the East District, and that was only because he flew without sleeping or resting, never stopping along the way. That was the only reason he could reach Blue Moon City so quickly. Under normal circumstances, the journey would have taken more than ten days.
After arriving in Blue Moon City, Tang Yi found an inn and rested well for a night, restoring his energy. The next day, he made his way to the entrance of ‘Wolf Fighting Slope,’ the headquarters of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps.
‘Wolf Fighting Slope’ was located within Blue Moon City. It was the territory of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps, occupying a vast area. The layout inside was like a small, self-contained city, appearing magnificent and prosperous.
A city within a city. For any faction, this was an incredibly grand undertaking and a clear display of power.
To be able to build their own city within another showed just how immense the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps’ power and influence was in Blue Moon City, and just how formidable their strength was.
Anyone who didn’t know better would assume this was the headquarters of a Major Sect or some other great martial school. They would never imagine it was merely the base of a Mercenary Corps.
Wolf Fighting Slope was the headquarters of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps, and it was heavily guarded. The entrance alone was manned by dozens of burly Mercenaries with powerful auras. If you weren’t a member, didn’t have a pass, or hadn’t received an official invitation, you couldn’t enter ‘Wolf Fighting Slope.’
However, Tang Yi was here for revenge. He was here to cause trouble. He didn’t care how many people were guarding the gate, nor did he care about some damned pass or invitation. The moment he arrived at the entrance, he used the Black Feather Mask to change his appearance into that of a very ordinary-looking young man. Then, without a second thought, he walked straight toward ‘Wolf Fighting Slope.’
The Black Feather Mask allowed Tang Yi to transform his appearance into that of another person for seven days. He figured that even if he turned the place upside down, no one would know it was him.
This time, Tang Yi had learned his lesson. Causing trouble for others would inevitably lead to retaliation. The tragedy of the Tang Family was a bloody lesson he had learned all too well. That was why he had changed his appearance, so no one would recognize him. As long as they didn’t know who he was, how could they possibly get revenge on him?
“Halt!”
“Who goes there!”
“This is Wolf Fighting Slope, the headquarters of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps! Unauthorized personnel are forbidden!”
Seeing Tang Yi walk straight toward them, the Mercenary guards of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps immediately aimed their weapons at him, their eyes wide and their faces hostile as they shouted for him to stop.
However, Tang Yi paid the guards no mind whatsoever. He didn’t break his stride and continued walking forward.
“Everyone, look! A show’s about to start!”
“Holy crap, does that kid have a death wish? He’s actually trying to force his way into Wolf Fighting Slope!”
“That’s the headquarters of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps! It’s packed with experts. Forcing your way in is just asking to die.”
“That boy is so young, he probably doesn’t have much strength. I wonder what happened to make him so recklessly charge into the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps’ headquarters.”
“I bet the kid wants to join the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps.”
“Doesn’t look like it. Look at his expression—it’s hostile, his gaze is cold. He clearly doesn’t have a good impression of the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps. He’s obviously not here to join, he’s here to cause trouble!”
“Picking a fight with the Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps? Is he insane? But I have to say, I’m impressed!”
