Chapter 157: Chapter 154: Elder Sister’s Advice

Those two words were all the approval anyone needed.

"Since Boss Chen is satisfied, I’ll call the guesthouse officially complete. Everything from here on out is in your hands."

Wang Tao smiled and lit a cigarette.

"I’ll get it listed online as soon as I can, but we’ll need a business license first."

Chen Li was busy with her phone. She’d started taking photos even before stepping inside — every corner, every room, every selling point, all documented.

She was the one handling the leisure side of things, so she had to treat it like a job. Besides, she had her own stake in this.

"I’ll take care of the business license."

Chen Yuan waved for his sister and Wang Tao to get in the car. Now that they’d seen the guesthouse, it was time to check out the Flower Sea Fruit Forest, the farm, and the Old Pond area — he wanted Chen Li to see everything.

As for the license itself, he’d handle it through the system.

"Mr. Liang, you’re still here?"

When they arrived at the farm, Chen Yuan was surprised to find Chen Youliang still hard at work. It was almost nine o’clock.

Chen Li called out a greeting to him as well.

Chen Youliang smiled and answered, accepting the cigarette Chen Yuan offered. "It’s just too hot," he said. "I came to top up the water. If the chicks go without, they’ll get sick in this heat."

Feeding the chickens was actually pretty straightforward. Chen Yuan had stocked feed at the hatchery, and his uncle came by every day with wilted vegetable scraps.

The tricky part was water. Wang Tao had installed a rail system where you just filled the containers and they’d slowly drip down along the track, keeping the chicks supplied.

But the problem was sheer numbers. They looked spread out and sparse at a glance, but between all the batches there were well over a thousand chicks — and in this heat, they needed constant hydration.

So Chen Youliang came by to refill the water at regular intervals, especially before bed at night, since there’d be no one around for hours after that.

"Take it easy going home, Mr. Liang."

After a brief chat, Chen Youliang got ready to head back.

Chen Yuan walked him all the way down the slope. Visibility was poor at night, and Chen Youliang wasn’t getting any younger — at his age, one bad fall could mean serious trouble.

"I think we should put in some street lights. And ideally more lighting in general, especially around the Flower Sea."

After seeing Chen Youliang off, the three of them made their way to Old Pond, and Chen Li shared the idea she’d been turning over in her head.

"Tell me more."

Chen Yuan was intrigued.

She’d now seen every part of the operation, and he figured she might have some genuinely useful insights — it’d be a nice change from just him and Wang Tao fumbling around trying to figure things out on their own.

Besides, the Flower Sea naturally appealed more to women. How many guys actually had the time or inclination to go sightseeing among flowers?

"The Flower Sea is well done."

Chen Li started with a compliment.

She’d taken a good look around. The Flower Sea featured a rose garden, a peony pavilion, peach blossom hill, plum blossom hill, a pear blossom orchard, cherry blossoms, bauhinia — a whole range of visually stunning varieties.

On top of that, ginkgo trees planted all the way from the village entrance would create a breathtaking carpet of golden leaves come autumn, and the fruit forest paired perfectly with the rest of it.

It might actually be possible to have something in bloom every season, with fresh fruit to match — turning this place into a genuine floral destination worth visiting year-round.

But flowers had their seasons and orchards had their cycles, so Chen Yuan and Wang Tao had also put together an artificial flower garden, laid out in a classical landscaping style with trimmed arrangements throughout.

That kind of setup really came alive with the right lighting — it could elevate the whole experience by several notches.

Even real flowers looked completely different with good lighting.

It was the same reason flowers at a florist always looked so stunning, but once you brought them home they seemed to lose something — beyond just the smaller quantity, it came down to the lighting.

"Most visitors will come to see the flowers during the day, sure — but don’t forget about the guesthouse. The two can really feed into each other."

That was Chen Li’s take.

"Sis, I should’ve called you back ages ago."

Chen Yuan grinned. Asking her to come back had definitely been the right call.

They’d go with her suggestions on this one.

"Looking forward to working with Miss Chen."

Wang Tao was all smiles too.

Construction was his strong suit, but the rest of it wasn’t really his department. With Miss Chen running the leisure side, a lot of that pressure would be off his plate.

"I’ve got one more suggestion."

Chen Li wasn’t done. She looked over at Wang Tao — this one would require a decent investment, so she needed the partner’s buy-in.

"Let’s hear it, Sis."

Chen Yuan was all ears.

From what she’d said back at the fish pond to everything just now, she’d made it clear she knew exactly what she was doing.
