I Build a Top-tier Fishing Destination

Chapter 200: Fishing in the Rain, An Ever-Growing Joy

  • Next Chapter

Anglers are always washing their hands — bait is sticky stuff, and after kneading it for a while your fingers are coated in gunk. Not rinsing off feels terrible, and it only gets worse after you land a fish.

With this feature built right into the chair, you could wash up without ever leaving your seat — no more hunching over and stumbling down to the pond’s edge. Way more convenient.

“Is that a water pipe running through here?”

Heavy Chummer crouched down to inspect the outlet on the left side of the chair. Had to be a pipe, one that ran straight into Old Pond. Pretty clever design, actually.

“Holy shit — it’s got a massage function too?!”

After shutting off the water, Heavy Chummer stared in disbelief at the last feature.

The fishing chair had a built-in massage function.

Curious, he pressed the button and leaned back. The chair tilted back several inches, settling him into a noticeably more relaxed posture.

“Mmm~”

The moment the vibrations kicked in, a low, involuntary moan of pleasure slipped out of him. He slapped both hands over his mouth and frantically looked left and right — thank god nobody was around.

That would’ve been embarrassing as hell.

“This is better than the massage chairs at the mall. Boss Chen really went all out~”

Heavy Chummer was already getting addicted to it.

It felt that good.

From now on, fishing from a members-only spot meant he could kick back and enjoy a massage whenever things were slow. The rod holder kept the rod secure, so there was zero risk of losing it.

“This is what membership is worth~”

Heavy Chummer was thoroughly impressed. Even with the spending requirements, the membership felt like an absolute steal — it wasn’t just about comfort, it was about status.

An exclusive spot. An exclusive chair. That’s what being a member meant.

Pure class~

“Get over here, guys! Boss Chen just added new gear — member fishing chairs. You will not be disappointed~”

Heavy Chummer whipped out his phone and started snapping away at the row of members-only spots, taking several close-up shots of the chairs before blasting them to the group chats.

The fishing ground group. The members group. Both got the photos.

He even posted to his Moments.

A full nine-picture grid, naturally.

“No way, there’s actually a fishing chair.”

“That chair looks solid — leather too. Gotta be a hundred times better than sitting on a tackle box, right?”

“Think bigger, boys. That chair isn’t just for sitting~”

“What else are you gonna do in a fishing chair?”

Tap tap tap~

Heavy Chummer’s fingers flew across three buttons at a speed that would’ve made a seasoned livestream shopper green with envy.

Rod holder mount. Faucet. Massage.

Three simple features, demonstrated and sent straight to the group.

“What the — it’s got massage too?!”

“If I’d known it was gonna be like this, I would’ve fought tooth and nail to get a membership~”

“Anyone willing to sell their membership? I’ll pay top dollar.”

“Haha, Chen Yuan Fishing Ground’s membership is this premium and you think anyone’s dumb enough to sell it? Honestly though, I’m starting to think the fee I charge for snagging spots on people’s behalf is way too low~”

“Knew Boss Chen was loaded. Didn’t know he was THIS loaded.”

“Right? I used to think the fishing spots over in Warm Zone were pretty decent — they’d bring you a chair, and if they knew you well enough, maybe toss in a cushion. Then I see Boss Chen’s chair and it’s like he’s just grabbed the whole industry by the neck and ground it into the dirt~”

The fishing crowd was genuinely stunned by the chairs Chen Yuan had set up.

Back when the fishing ground first opened, someone had jokingly asked Boss Chen about providing chairs, and he’d said yes — eventually rolling them out as a members-only perk.

But nobody, members included, had really thought much of it. Plenty of fishing spots would let you use a chair if you were friendly with the owner.

It was just… a chair.

Except Boss Chen’s chair was something else entirely.

Never mind the built-in rod holder and hand-washing faucet — a massage function? Fishing in total comfort? Who in their right mind would turn that down?

Say what you want, Boss Chen was still Boss Chen. Even the small touches dripped with that signature generosity~

“I’m already at Yu City Village — Boss Chen, any chance I could try out a members-only chair if the spot’s empty? I’ll pay extra~”

“Same, was just about to ask.”

“I booked a spot at the small pond — any way to swap to Old Pond? I’ll cover the difference~”

“Haha, I’m here already, working on convincing the boss now~”

“Haha, good luck negotiating — my spot isn’t going anywhere. Just pulled into Yu City Village. Can’t wait to try that chair~”

“Holy crap, it’s a thunderstorm out there. You guys are seriously that committed?”

“Can you even see the float in this rain?”

As more and more anglers announced their arrival at Yu City Village in the group chat, the rest of the members were floored. A thunderstorm, and they still showed up?

“Damn, I thought I was the only crazy one heading to the fishing ground. Turns out everyone’s lost their minds — and they’re here even earlier than usual.”

“Fishing in the rain is a joy like no other. A thunderstorm? That’s prime fishing weather~”

“We are anglers. No force of nature should stand between us and our rods. No obstacle shall keep us from the water.”

“Haha! Only those who face the storm head-on, fear nothing, are true anglers~”

“I’ve brought shame upon the fishing community. I actually hesitated this morning. Fellow brothers, I’m heading out now — I’ll be on the water by seven sharp~”

“Nooo, I was hoping to snag a leftover spot at seven… looks like that’s not happening~”

One became two, and two became many.

Watching the chaos unfold in the group chat, the hesitant anglers threw their doubts out the window and charged toward the fishing ground like they’d been injected with rocket fuel.

When Chen Yuan got back home, he blinked in surprise at the sight of several cars parked outside the courtyard, a handful of anglers standing nearby with umbrellas, cigarettes dangling from their lips as they chatted.

More cars were pulling up ahead.

“What are you standing there for? Go help your customers~”

Chen Jun came rolling back on the three-wheeled cart from the small pond’s direction and called out to Chen Yuan, who was still staring blankly.

“You’ve already done a run?”

Chen Yuan snapped out of it, even more surprised.

“Two runs, actually. These people are absolutely wild~”

Chen Jun shook his head with a helpless grin, not quite sure what to make of it.
