Chapter 57: Release Announcement

First, let’s talk about the book going premium.

It’s been scheduled to go premium tonight at 8 PM.

It was very sudden. I was completely floored when I got the news. I thought the rule on this platform was that a book goes premium whenever its current recommendation round ends, but I just got a site message today about a third round of new-book recommendations.

However, my editor said going premium won’t affect the normal recommendations. It’s already been arranged, and there’s nothing I can do to change it. The good thing is, I update during the day, so today’s free Chapter has already been posted successfully.

Next, let’s talk about this book.

Although I’m not a total newbie—I’ve had several books flop on other sites—this is my first time writing in the urban genre, and I haven’t handled some details and issues very well.

Especially that part where Liu Fang released the fish. Thanks to my readers’ reminders, I was able to move past it quickly.

Even though I had already written that part of the plot and had several stockpiled Chapters, I decisively scrapped them all, rethought the story, and rewrote it to move on quickly.

Otherwise, if I had continued with the original plot, the book might have gone off the rails. So, I want to thank all my readers for that.

Also, regarding some details and typos, I’ve seen readers point them out, but since this is my first time on this platform, I didn’t know how to edit typos in published Chapters.

On other sites, you had to apply to the editor to make changes, which prevented authors from randomly altering the plot.

Here on this platform, I didn’t dare ask my editor, since I’m just a small-time author whose books tend to flop. I swear I check every Chapter several times after writing it, and I feel like the later Chapters have far fewer typos. Boohoo~

As for some parts that don’t make much sense, like there being too many black fish, I’ve replied to readers about this. It is a bit illogical. After the black fish are cleared out of the pond, I won’t be mixed-farming them anymore.

In any case, I will write this book to the best of my ability. Even if it’s a flop, in all my years of writing, I have never missed an update and never dropped a book. You have my word on that.

I may not be able to write a classic or produce a bestseller, but if you, my friends who are reading this book, can find a moment of joy in a certain scene, even for just an instant, then that’s good enough for me.

Because I didn’t expect it to go premium this quickly, and because I revised the story and scrapped my stockpiled Chapters, I don’t have much of a stockpile right now. The Chapter I just finished writing is the one right before it goes premium. I could just die~

Fortunately, with the holidays coming up, I can guarantee a minimum of 10,000 characters a day for the next three days. After that, the guaranteed minimum will be three Chapters (7,000 characters) per day.

If I ever fall short, I’ll make it up with double the amount.

There will be one Chapter released when it goes premium at 8 PM. Then I’ll keep writing. There will be more updates after midnight—maybe one Chapter, maybe two, depending on how the writing goes.

And I’ll continue during the day~

Finally, let’s talk about bonus Chapters.

Every time a book goes premium, you have to say goodbye to some readers. This book’s follower count isn’t that high to begin with. I haven’t dared to ask my editor for the effective follower count, but I’m guessing it’s around five or six hundred.

If the first 24-hour subscriptions reach 400, I’ll release a bonus Chapter (I know that’s a bit of a high hope, boohoo~). Then, based on that starting number, for every 100-subscriber increase in the average subscription count, I’ll release another bonus Chapter.

As for bonus Chapters for monthly tickets, I’ll release one for every 500 monthly tickets.

I’ll release a bonus Chapter for every 1,000 cumulative recommendation tickets.
