Chapter 547 - 448: Indestructible: Immortality

  • Next Chapter

In mid-air.

Gao Neng shot straight up.

The Blood Grand Marshal, however, was continuously retreating.

And just then, Gao Neng drew his sword.

He struck before the Blood Grand Marshal could even make a move.

The sword left its sheath.

"CLANG!"

A clap of thunder boomed.

There was a qualitative leap between the high-tiers and mid-tiers. One of the clearest manifestations of this was how a high-tier’s elemental attributes were contained within them, yet remained intimately connected to the outside world.

Thus, when Gao Neng used his Sword Drawing Technique again, a sound like roaring thunder erupted from his sheath. A bolt of lightning shot out and coiled around his arm.

"SWOOSH!"

The instant his longsword left its sheath, Gao Neng slashed at the Blood Grand Marshal.

In a flash, a ten-meter-long bolt of blue lightning, originating from his arm, shot toward the Blood Grand Marshal sixty meters away.

This, too, was a long-range attack.

The ten-meter-long bolt of blue lightning resembled an electric serpent, crackling as it flew.

The Blood Grand Marshal clearly hadn’t expected Gao Neng to be the first to attack.

However, at a distance of sixty meters, he wasn’t worried about being controlled by Gao Neng’s Illusion Technique. So, as the electric serpent approached, he simply extended his right palm with ease.

A grab!

A squeeze!

In his mind,

this electric serpent should have simply vanished with a pitiful yelp.

But in reality, as his palm closed around it, the electric serpent seemed to come alive, whipping its tail toward his throat.

"Hm?!" A flicker of surprise crossed the Blood Grand Marshal’s eyes, and he immediately released the electric serpent.

But even so, he was a fraction of a second too late. Although the serpent’s tail missed his throat, it successfully struck the spot an inch below it.

"TZZT!"

A sharp sound rang out.

A blue beam of light shot out from within the electric serpent.

A bloody gash appeared on the Blood Grand Marshal’s body.

"What?!" This time, the Blood Grand Marshal was genuinely startled.

He wouldn’t have been too shocked just by being hit by the serpent’s tail. At most, it would only have meant Gao Neng’s techniques were bizarre and unexpected.

But this time, he was actually injured.

He was a magnificent ninth-tier Grand Marshal!

And he had been wounded by a mere human who had just broken through to the seventh tier?!

How could he believe it?

’How is this possible?! His blade can actually pierce my defense?’ The Blood Grand Marshal touched the wound on his body, his expression changing drastically.

Meanwhile, Luna and the others, who had just been crying out at Gao Neng’s recklessness, along with Wu Qingjing and the viewers watching through the live broadcast, all gasped in shock.

He wounded a ninth-tier with a single strike?!

Even though it was only a flesh wound.

This was still an absolutely stunning feat.

"WHOA!"

The entire audience cheered as one.

For some reason, everyone’s hearts were now filled with confidence.

Even though Gao Neng was only at the seventh tier.

’So after reaching the seventh tier, I really can control elemental energy as I please.’ Having landed a successful blow, Gao Neng now had a better gauge of his own offensive power.

Before, the techniques he executed were static.

But now that he possessed an elemental attribute, his techniques were alive.

The lightning within his blade could change at will. Not only could it detach from the sword and fly toward the enemy, but the "laser" hidden within it could also be held back, waiting to be unleashed.

’It’s truly different now!’

However, the Blood Grand Marshal was a ninth-tier after all. Defeating him with One Slash was still too difficult.

Gao Neng wasn’t discouraged. In fact, far from being discouraged, he confidently shouted down to Luna, "Madam Lu, see? I told you I could do it..."

"Look out!"

Before he could finish, Luna cried out in alarm.

Gao Neng whipped his head around.

But it was too late.

A torrent of blood-red energy, as brilliant as the sun, had already reached him. It slammed directly into his chest with a heavy, muffled thud.

"BANG!"

Gao Neng spat a mouthful of blood.

He plummeted toward the ground.

The Blood Grand Marshal seized the opportunity, swooping down after him while maintaining a distance of sixty meters.

"Gao Neng!!!" Fang Tangtang subconsciously started to rush toward him, but the instant she moved, Luna pulled her back.

Fang Tangtang, of course, was unwilling to be held back.

But before she could struggle, Luna had already shot forward.

"SWOOSH!"

"SWOOSH!"

In mid-air, nine afterimages appeared.

After appearing, these nine afterimages hovered in the air as if frozen, positioning themselves squarely between the Blood Grand Marshal and Gao Neng.

"Die!" Having succeeded with a sneak attack, the Blood Grand Marshal had no intention of letting up. He paid no mind to what kind of technique the afterimages were and simply charged straight ahead.

And as he charged, he struck out with his palm again.

"BOOM!"

A massive explosion sounded.

Gao Neng, who had just crashed to the ground, was hit by the palm strike before he could even spit out the blood in his mouth. His entire body was driven into the earth.

The frost-covered ground cracked open.

Gao Neng coughed up great mouthfuls of blood, then collapsed limply on the ground.

At the same time, the afterimages positioned in front of the Blood Grand Marshal moved.

Like a torrent of myriad swords returning to their origin, they assailed the Blood Grand Marshal. Each afterimage was a single attack technique; nine afterimages meant nine techniques.

"SHLIIICK!"

The Blood Grand Marshal dodged continuously in the air, but several more gashes still appeared on his body.

Each gash was over an inch long.

The wounds cut down to the bone.

But just as the ninth afterimage closed in on him, the Blood Grand Marshal struck.

He thrust a palm forward.
